Phenomenal, so many of us don’t even consider other people’s experiences and how DEEP ROOTED these experiences are! Ameenah this is amazing and I can’t wait to see what’s next!!!
Only woman on the panel that got a standing ovation!

Amazing. Concise. Vulnerable and definitely inspiring. I have about 5 inches of natural roots and 6 inches of chemically processed hair. It is not easy to maintain because we were taught how to hide/change our natural hair, not how to maintain and nourish it. I am loving my REAL self because I finally get to see the real me, not the mask I wore before.

This talk changed so much in my life, maashaAllah. As a white woman raising mixed race children, this talk helped me to understand the importance of my daughters loving their hair because doing so is loving themselves. Thank you, Ameenah.

SubhanAllah. This was deep. Just to think how generational trauma has affected the self esteem and confidence of so many women is truly heartbreaking. And it's still going on till this day. So many people chasing unrealistic standards of beauty if only they knew, true self love and confidence can only come from accepting and loving the way Allah swt has created you. Thank you for speaking about this and I hope and pray it benefits many women

Amazing talk Ameenah. It made me think of my own daughters and the enduring narratives and trauma from the past that continues to impact them even till today.
I'll be sharing this far and wide!
    Thank you 🎉

Delivered so beautifully, opening a conversation to the world- one that too many live through and one that many need to wake up to. This tedx is changing lives. Thank you for your work ❤

I remember that clip- it upset me to my core. That child articulated the pain of falling short of so-called beauty standards. We have to change the narrative in our communities. Our women and girls deserve to feel empowered. They are queens.
