PC Repair is not dead, demand is definitely not the same as it used to be but it's not dead. Here's why...Corporations are now moving into the cloud whereas removing in house data centers to a hosted provider as Eli mentioned for multiple reasons, corp dont want to host the hardware on site, you have to worry about AC, Power, etc that's an overhead cost. Sure, you will still be paying hosted company for this, don't think it will come free but less management. Same for users where most were running workstations, now they are running zero clients. Saying that, users are still maintaining laptops and laptops do require repairs and these repairs are in most cases caused the user error such as water spill on keyboard, broken screen, etc...they are a lot more stable than the old laptops and one of the main reasons is SSD vs HDD's. You can find work with one of the vendors that perform laptop repairs and have contract with companies such as Lenovo, Dell, HP....
