The question is why: 1) The author definitely has a talent to explain complex issues in a simple way, the part of it is not going into details which might be overwhelming for the beginners; 2) The really good quality of the video, no unnecessary break ups just to show some meme or sth not related to the content just for entertaining reasons; 3) Mixing talking with a code example - it's gold; What would I add - maybe some graph which could in a visual form show on one picture the connections between systems/layers; For me as a beginner it's much more important to see how the things are tied together how one system is getting data from another, without details but just to be aware that this kind of connection exists to grasp the big picture. I really enjoy this video, imho the author has a great potential to be a great tutor!

This is great, but the way I feel easy to understand this concept is by thinking web server as ONE application in a computer system that hosts multiple application. Each of those application listens on a specific port. The job of the web server is to look at the request, determine the port and forward it to the right application.
