Of course most people would prefer laser but it’s so expensive

Depends on who is doing and what the other options are...some topical treatments cost more than laser!

I have a far cheaper method that got rid of my stubborn toenail fungus.
Step 1: Acquire a magnifying glass and wait for a sunny day.
Step 2: Soak your nail in warm water until the nail is thoroughly soaked and soft (or do it straight out of a shower).
Step 3: Working a 3mm square area at a time, slowly focus the lens onto your nail until you can feel the temperature reach the 'ouch' level (or you can see steam rising from nail) and do this 3x-4x times over the area.
Step 4: Move to next area and repeat Step 3.
This one treatment cured my infection in just a few minutes and within a few months a new healthy nail grew out.

Laser treat can kill the fungus but don't be fooled...you still have to do a LOT of maintenance work after the laser procedure as well or you have a high probability of getting reinfected. If you get reinfected the nails just regress.
