Thanks for sharing my knife! Was awesome meeting you at Blade, had no intentions of sending this knife out, was mostly just to show people. Gotta admit I got a little emotional watching this. I'll be doing everything I can to get knives to the people who want them. Thanks again!!!
Thanks for the shout-out on the sheath. Glad you're enjoying it!! Every UTB knife comes with one. Cut, dyed and hand sewn with locally sourced leather in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
If I can get my hands on this knife and sheath i reckon it’ll be the showpiece of my collection. An absolute beauty I frickin love it Bring it on please sir! Peter from Australia
Rock solid sheath! I’ve been trying to find the right fit for a bird and trout’esque knife for pocket carry similar, and there’s not an abundance. Nice review, thanks
Hi thanks so much! For pricing I've been asking some of my mentors for advice when I have a knife available to sell, as my work improves the price will reflect that, along with the materials used, but something like this I would have priced in the $250-300 range.
What a beauty! Found out yesterday that two boxes of knives I had collected since I was a kid from my deceased grandfathers( in the military) and my recently deceased father, where stolen. I have been very upset by this. They where the last things I had from them, being that my parents house burnt to the ground killing my father.😢
Absolute Wowzers! No way that’s the second knife he ever made, it’s way too nice. Whatever that handle material is might be one of my new favorites. I hope he isn’t sold out cause I want one NOW!
No it's actually my 12th knife. The scales are made from crosscut camo carbon, crosscut carbon waves for the spacer and vintage Westinghouse butterscotch micarta on the rear. Pins and Liners are carbon fiber
@patrickmunneke8348 no, probably not. I did some carbon blades when I 1st started but I plan to stick to mostly Magnacut and Cruwear as my base steels. I do have some 52100 kitchen knives laying around the shop I need to finish up tho
@patrickmunneke8348 it will but it takes some work. Similar corrosion resistance to D2. I'll probably do some work with some of the vanadium steels too (3v, 4v, 10v).
Everything about this knife is a fantastic example of a cutting tool. It is absolutely Beautiful. Looks like a little damage on the middle scale pin on the right side. But this is a work of functional art. Thanks for sharing this with us Stassa.
Thanks! That defect is actually deamination of the material internally when I drilled the holes for the pins. Should have used a backer to prevent blowout. Always something to learn. Thanks for the kind words!
This thing looks amazing! Like you said, I wish other companies would do thin edge geometry, without being afraid. Most people who don’t know too much about knives seems to gravitate towards the thick knives anyways. People with enough knowledge to know that thin geometry is better probably also know how to treat a knife. They aren’t gonna use it like a bar or try to cut cardboard filled with staples. Deep Cuts Cutlery as always had my respect for not being afraid to go. I think his knives are down to 7/1000ths behind the edge. Jack Wolf too, most of his slip joints are super thin BTE. For those who have an experienced this yet, a super thin knife almost don’t even need an edge to cut cardboard! So now imagine what happens when you put a sharp edge on them. They cut through material like it’s not even there, and they will continue to cut for faaaaarrrrrr longer. I hope everybody gets to experience something like this. I didn’t know the true potential of an EDC knife until I got one that was stupid then BTE. And now I’m gonna have to get one of these, because that isn’t the only thing I like about this one. Thanks Stassa for showing this to us!

Going to make something in simple carbon steel?@arrowheadguys7637

@arrowheadguys7637 I see. I just love patina that's all. I've heard cruwear doesn't so I've avoided it.
