Thank you so much for sharing our gear with so many people. When we were at Blade Show West people kept coming to the table talking about the video they saw and it was yours. We appreciate the support of our family business and the work that goes into creating a video. We appreciate your efforts and wanted to let you know people were watching and it helped.
I sincerely appreciate that! Well, get ready because next year it’s gonna be even better and longer! In a couple of weeks, I plan to start posting more gear reviews, and knife reviews .
Thanks for the effort in putting this together, it cool to see actual knifemakers rather than manufacturers which most TH-camrs cover extensively. If you have time next year, see if you can ask them a few more questions, it's very valuable to get their insights about their work.
Very enjoyable and informative video, Thankyou. The axe restorer had some amazing workmanship on his table. Restoring is definitely an art form. Again thanks for the video.
Thank you for the time and effort in showing us all those awesome knives, and for sharing the contact info of so many smaller knife makers. That s vital to help them to grow, and to let everyone get to know them. Nice gesture !
Most and best coverage of Blade I have seen! I was there 1 1/2 days and missed most of what you showed. Excellent audio and video was clear and slow enough to see things. Best part was you asking what their favorite piece was, really opened them up to sharing some interesting information, great job!!
I missed the Show this year and have never been.. I will be there next year.. but what you did allow me to ALMOST know what it was like to go... THANK YOU
I would spend so much money there it scares me . Just absolutely love meeting the people that make the knives they offer to us . Awe man so many beautiful knives I have to see if they come to California or I guess I will go on a road trip one of these days , thanks for the video and new sub here .
Very cool video, I appreciate your effort and time. Glad to see the lesser known manufacturers mixed in with some of the big dogs. Some really cool stuff shown. Thanks
Thank you. Next year it will have much clearer footage and a lot more time with as many lesser known and custom/ handmade manufacturers. I sincerely appreciate your kind words!
That guy who finds old axe heads should come out East to Collinsville, Connecticut. There's an old dirt road along the East side of the Farmington River, the Collins Axe Company used to dump along it. I've found some of it in the past.
Awesome content! Liked and subscribed from Pembroke Pines FL. I love the interview style back and forth. It's cool to see the knife makers open up and share their passion on the spot. Please keep doing what you do!
I loved this video. It showed a lot of the smaller tables and makers that don't usually get into videos. Thank you for the coverage. That pirate ship was something else. Never knew they had stuff like that there.
Great video. Excellent questions, banter and especially editing. Some (maybe all) of the larger knife TH-cam channels could certainly learn a thing or two from this video.
I like this video. I colecting knifes abaut 40 and years. I also did some with a friend. Large bowie knives from feder plate trucks. We sharpened it and then I took it to the company to have my knife sandblasted and sharpened. He could cut a tin tool box. And a friend later made the handle and the front bumper out of brass.
Well, I’m glad he really liked the video and next year there will be more and even better Contant so make sure you like and subscribe, stay tuned and get ready for more awesome videos!!!
Could you imagine a tornado hitting that place while your in there!? LOL you would be chopped to tiny pieces!! I'm sorry, I think about weird stuff / scenarios, haha Great video Brother! Some awesome knifes here.
I like the blade at 30:33 over the chick-fil-a menu Mostly i like the double bend in the blade for once it's actually useful the first inch about the length of a razor blade is great angle for whittling for sharpening stakes the other part is a great angle for cutting. and the bend will not interfere in anyway with a defensive slice. probably mke it worse really.
I happened to pick up the last pack! I missed out on the axis lock from last year so I spotted this one and didn't think twice. I was impressed with the lock up, and finish. They don't feel as cheap as other cheap knives do. I was also impressed that they did a bearing version and spring assist version in the same pack. They were also respectably sharp. The included sharpener works quite well. The bit driver is pretty handy and respectably sturdy. The keychain tool is total trash though. The only minor issue I had was that the axis lock knife was a bit too tight in the pivot screw, but just a ever so slight adjustment and the blade flies right open. It's a great value knife set.
Best coverage of blood show I have seen. I love the fact that you go to these custom makers so many people are about to production stuff to look at microtech’s, newest and latest gratis, or some bogus blade that you can buy bulk bitchmade or Spyderco. I would rather see custom handmade stuff. Good coverage brother keep it up.
Very nice video. Lot to see there. If you do this next year, it would be awesome if you could do a still shot of their business cards at either beginning or end of each display both / exhibitor.
@@ONeillOutdoors You’re very welcome. I do appreciate your video and your videos. Wonder if Jay Grodin made it out there . He is out of Grass Valley and I bought his best knife a few years ago . Just happened to be an outdoor market in Tahoe City and he and his wife had a booth . Saw he was a knife maker and hung out for an hour and got a fossilized walrus tusk handled Damascus blade knife . It's so nice it's silly .
On the tiger stripe Damascus, Is there maybe a reason no one has done it that way before? Maybe because the “seams” or “grain” isn’t running the length of the blade and is the steal weakened that way? Just asking. Im no metallurgist.
Great question! There were over 900 different vendors crammed in two rooms! I was only there a day and a half due to travel delays. Next year I plan to cover more and get a lot more custom knife makers as long as anywhere else that doesn’t have a ton of people in front of their table. On the second day and third day, some people don’t wanna talk … they’re ready to pack up and go home, while others are more than happy to talk to you.
