Girls act so melodramatic over it even when they aren't on their period. My brother and I are triplet siblings along with my sister. His change was more abrupt and mine was more drawn out so I never was super surprised. It is easier to understand periods because it happens monthly and most of us can tell by pms signs or just instinct beforehand. My limited understanding or erections are that they happen spontaneously and can be misunderstood. I imagine that to be horrendously humiliating.
