My father saved me a 1990 Chevy c1500 454 7.4 L for about 19yrs, a lot of people tried to buy her off from him but told them no because he was saving her for me for 19yrs and handed her over to me the truck was a bit beat up( rims were rusty, paint was peeling off, roof in interior was falling) so I saved up and worked and gain enough to fix this truck bad ass, Anyway Keep up that amazing work on your truck 🤘🏾It’s cool to bring back to life these old trucks 💯
I don’t know why people disliked this video. Truly a badass truck Jake and Chip. You guys got a real cool truck on your hands, it’s something you can’t find at all. I’ve been looking for some time lol. But hey, cheers Jake my hat is off for you and that badass truck of yours.
Ok, this is just impressive the way this young guy talks about his truck. It's very obvious he knows what he is talking about and not just let someone else do the work for him. Great job!!!
We need more kids like him in this world! Really cool first truck! I had a 87 foxbody mustang for my first ride, would of been cooler if it was a squarebody. Keep it up Jake!
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS my problem is that I don't have a way to get parts for my truck. My truck just needs brakes. And I think that's the last thing that I need that I know of.

My dad let me buy my first truck, a 58 Chevrolet Apache when I was 12 years old. I had saved the money for years from birthdays, Christmas, working odd jobs around the house and for other people. This brings back a lot of good memories for me. And I hope that Jake will always remember what his dad did for him. It's a better start than most get so, be humble, be kind; always remember the great memories past, present and future. Awesome Truck Man!!
My 15 year old son and i are currently doing a frame off restoration of a 1971 gmc longhorn, that hasent run in 20 years, got in running in 4 hours, driving in 5, showed him how to do a burn out on the old bias ply tires, he was 20 feet away and the truck disappeared! ;)

I teach high school kids and there are a few kids that get it like this kid but not nearly enough!! Great job by his parents of teaching him a work ethic. That's what our young people need to learn so desperately today!
Bought my first squarebody, a 1982 GMC Sierra C1500 with a 250ci 6cyl and a TH350 Automatic when I was 15, and I've had 7 since now at 18. This 83 looks pretty rad. Jake you are one blessed young man, to have such a great dad and pretty awesome GMC Sierra as well. keep cutting those lawns and getting to know your truck front to back, and stay safe.
Bought my 77k10 from a junk yard when I was 13 for 600$ then me and my dad took it down to the frame and built it all back. Only things we kept was the axels, cab, bed, and radiator support. Built a 355 and got a 700r4. Whole interior is brand new with a custom seat, custom painted PBE viper blue with the metal flake. I’m 18 now and still driving it. Anything on the truck was put on by us some were even custom made like the shifting linkage we made coming out of the floor instead of the steering column. Nothing but proud of the truck

Still have that truck too. Along with a 76 k5 blazer
Damn straight. I grew up with a neighbour that traded in his early 80s Bronco for a long bed 85 c10. I was into Tamiya RC's as a kid (hence user pic) and this neighbour had a Tamiya Clod Buster (square body monster truck), and I was hooked. I had to pass on the red 85 square I wanted as I now have two kids, so I have a 93 C1500 ext with a 4/6, and I love it, But goodness do still think of that square body..
i have the same year truck but with a rebuilt 1971 350 small block and i got it when i was 13 which was only three years ago and i have always loved the way classic trucks and car look drive and sound.

First of all you have a beautiful truck, I love everything about it and your story most of all. You must be a pretty good son for you parents to put this kind of trust in you and I want to commend them both for wanting to help you. This is a huge life lesson and something that you'll never forget, so never take your parents for granted, always treat them with the greatest of respect. Jake, you had a vision that appears to have come true and I hope that it brings you more memories than you can ever imagine. Love the colors, wheels, interior, stance, and mostly because a 14 year old boy gets to one day soon drive it daily. Awesome story Whitlock Garage, keep up the good work.
Thank you, Shannon! Completely agree. What a cool scenario!
Great truck Jake, Once you go truck you can't go back!!!! Whitlock Garage "what's in my driveway is gonna make this channel explode, what a great idea for a segment and to get to see the owners and the truck up close!!! Keep up the great work and we'll keep subscribing !!!!
Thanks, Harold! We've got a whole playlist full of them and have no plans to stop. I like going in-depth on these trucks and talking to the owners about their story with the truck. Much better than just filming a truck with no background or history.
That's a beautiful truck
Yes it is!
I 13 starting to work on my 1986 Chevy Silverado and this Video is inspiring to me
Awesome! Keep at it.
Congrats young man, love the truck! Still tooling away on my 84 c10. Who knows maybe some day I can meet Rob and the rest of the United by trucks family.
Hope we can make that happen as well! We'll be at a few more shows over the next few months and wrenching away creating content for you guys when we're not.

Way to go Jake, you're gonna go far!

I was passed down my dad 94 k1500 when I was 15. Wish I would have kept it out of the mud but I still have it at 28 and daily drove it until a few years ago when I bought the second truck I spent allot of time driving as a teenager which was my dads lbz duramax. Still have that truck too. Along with a 76 k5 blazer
Heck yeah, man! Love a good OBS and definitely a k5.
Nice truck Jake. You have a cool dad. Listen to him and enjoy him. I got my first vehicle when I was 15. 1973 cutlass

@@BRMN8R That's so cool!
