I think on the sensor, masking fluid would work well (it's what water color painters use to keep the white of the paper in certain spots) it peels off very nicely, just gotta rub it a bit.
My sister stained my airpods with nail paint and then tried to remove it using acetone 😭 the polished layer came off and even though my airpods were still working I did not know what to do since it reeks of melted plastic thank god I found this video. I'll try painting mine.
@@markmyersfilms I still did this step, but I used cotton PADS not balls. I used what the wife uses to take off her nails. Cotton balls are more "looser" which resulted in what happened to you. Thanks for the vid.
Those are 100% cooler than the originals
i dont know how u recover from this mess , but you are the man
Gloves, isopropyl and less paint to make the green coat smoother.
This is such an unhinged way to paint these lolol thank you for showing your process. It was def worth it in the end

but whats about the black rid?

i was literally thinking THIS GUYS A GENIUS then macgruber popped up😂 i’m definitely doing this!!!
Better option would be to find a green dye.. and dye them.. no sanding, or paint, it’ll still be smooth and shiny too and wouldn’t chip or flake off.
Know anyone who’s tried it?
Man i should have watched this first before ruining mine!
Wait i fixed it!
@@pacotaco1246 how did you fix it?

How have they held up against sweat ?
Not bad. But the paint did come off a bit, in the case and ear (which is not good).
Maybe I didn’t seal it correctly or it didn’t dry fully
@@markmyersfilms see I’m wondering if a specific kind of paint is necessary. Sweat is more corrosive then people realise
You’re so underrated
Very informative thanks
green is good. Success!
Do you think you could just use nail polish?
Possibly. I just don’t know if it would have a clean flat application of paint/polish. A quality marker could even be better than what I did
bro , there are masking liquid exist. it kinda gooy and you can harden it with UV light....masking tape or playdough is just too much
thank you!!!!
Mark nice job
I think it was the wrong cotton you used with the nail polish
Must have been, because it was a crazy mess. But it was just a regular cotton ball... not sure what else I should have used.

The title for this video should be how not to paint your airpods
You could be right :)
But I tried to show how to, by showing how I messed up.
I think my end product was still good though 👍
@@markmyersfilms No, I don't Think so, they look preatty shitty
Edision, Those are the best types of videos, and good job Mark. I will be trying this with my pros.
Agreed 💯💯💯
That turned out horrible looking 😂
@@Journeyman1642 you’re not wrong.
Total mess
Indeed. Pretty much a disaster. But the end result is still pretty good.
That looks horrible lmao
