Designer Brian Gluckstein gives us a tour of his lush urban oasis in Toronto, which was over 20 years in the making. The whole outdoor space is surrounded by large trees, providing ample shade for lounging in the garden or doing laps in the pool. You'll love the three sets of French doors framed with planters and candle lanterns, and the high-tech barbecue surrounded by lemon and lime trees. Plus, learn more about Brian's savvy irrigation system, so he never has to worry about watering the plants!

All Exactly what i love huge trees, maples, water,hard work, flowers, french doors, knowin all your trees, shade in summer, sun in winter, drip while workin ,fruit trees for just plucking them live, turf, wow wow wow i guess i found myself here,The video really do satisfies me🙇🙇🙇🙇

Gorgeous, so peaceful. Love the fact there is no deck around the pool. It is great that on one side of the pool the trees keep their leafs in the winter. But I am sure the pool is covered from the fall so the leafs don't fall in the pool. Absolutely stunning backyard.

A beautiful garden. So calm and soothing. A real sanctuary.
I know that many people do not like artificial turf, but I use it in my garden because the grassed area is so small, it was not worth having a mower. When they first see it, no one believes it is fake. I bought one with longer "leaves", and deliberately did not make the subsurface level. As a result, when leaves have fallen on it as well, it does not look at all fake. There are small bumps and hollows, and from the house it looks like an average lawn. I keep a small offcut of the turf so show the doubters that it's not real.
That’s a gorgeous space. I’d endure inclement weather just for a few weeks of outdoor living amongst that landscape.

Love love love the garden, pool and using turf instead of grass! And love Brian’s sense of humor….the unexpected noise from the jet flying overhead was hilarious! In my mind, the time spent creating the meticulously perfect video and then the jet noise…I could not stop laughing ….not at Brian…. but the whole f--'n scenario! I could not stop laughing! The tears were streaming down my face…so thank you for a very hardy laugh this Sunday morning! I really needed that!

Gorgeous yard! 🥰It always amazes me when I dont see a pool fence around a pool - here in Australia its the law to have one!
Think it's the law in Canada too. But if his back yard is separated by the neibours by a fence which it probably is then it's okay.
Just the yard has to be fenced, but the fence has to be a certain height that is unclimbable.
YI know you left this years ago but I feel compelled to respond: The most tragic thing is how ugly pool fences are in Australia. When house hunting I would sneer and wince at all these hideous looking fences and feel like screaming at the computer screen, 'haven't you people seen what people abroad are doing with landscaping, garden design and pool fencing?!' There are a million ways of complying with the law and making an aesthetically appealing pool fence. I cannot understand this lack of imagination and such bad taste. I wonder if ugly fences irritate you too or if it's just me. 😂🙃

I typically dislike swimming pools but I like how he explains this one is subtle in colour and blends into the environment. In fact, I like the way he explains everything ☺️

They have videos under the H&H homebound series. It interweaves with personal phone videos and professional videos/pictures of the interior cause it’s done during pandemic but it’s still lovely to see. The series features a lot of designers. I only watched his second floor one but I plan to watch all of them as I have the time. His bathroom and library are a dream.
