In this video, Lynda visits Brian and his partner Gary Sarantopoulos in their stately Toronto home to celebrate and chat about life in their newly-renovated kitchen. Plus, get a tour of the grand-styled principal rooms where you’ll see many of Brian’s signature design moves. And just in time because the renovation of this trad house is about to begin. Brian explains what he plans to do to update and open up the space, while Gary chimes in with his “ask list.” We’re not sure that Brian was listening… but you be the judge. Congratulations Brian, and well deserved!! Years ago I was in Palm Beach Airport, as a snowbird, awaiting our kids arrival for March break, when Brian deplaned and walked up the ramp. I was so excited I waved furiously, which caught Brian’s attention. He waved back, then slowly retracted his hand when he realized he had no idea who I was. ☺️ A fun memory
Very beautiful home and Congratulations, Brian! I would have appreciated hearing Gary finish his sentences. When filming segments with spouses, plan ahead and decide what the spouse should talk about and how many times they should speak. Then have the courtesy to let them talk.
Ha. I thought I was the only one who noticed. Didn't look like he wanted him to speak at all.

I met Brian and Gary on Church St. in Toronto years ago. I was having dinner with a friend, when they sat at a table near us. I decided just to stop briefly and say how much I like his work. Brian and Gary were beyond friendly, and we had a lovely conversation.
That kitchen is so different to any that I've seen, so cosy! 😍
It was never a secret! He has always been Designer of the year for me!! Congratulations Brian & Gary!

Wow, that guy has great taste. That is so beautiful. Oh my goodness. I totally love his sense of style. That kitchen with the soft white, and those white curtains that open up into that wonderfully pretty darkish room, is just gorgeous! Love it! Everything else too, those other rooms, wow, so pretty, peaceful, beautiful.
This interior designer has amazing talent & does the utmost detailed work in all of his designs.
I like the way he's not afraid to place t.v.'s in various rooms of his home unlike other interior designers.
What's a home without a television?
As beautiful as his home is, I'm still trying to process his leaving on his oven for weeks and not realizing it. 😂😂😂

When the video started I thought they were in his office until I suddenly realized it was a kitchen. I like it, though. The rest of the house looked fine to me, like it didn't need ripping out & changing. But he's a designer, and that's what they do.

I wish the presenter and Bryan would stop cutting Gary off everytime he went to speak. Half way through his sentences they would just start talking over him. In one instance the presenter just walked away while he was speaking.
I noticed that as well. You could see Gary struggling to get a word in edgewise.
Seriously you can tell Bryan is very full of himself, Gary is an after thought. Coming from a woman of experience.

I've been watching Brian since I was a kid and my mom was watching City Line on Thursdays. This is over 20 years ago. One thing I would love is to be able to walk into a store and be able to look at the entire Glucksteinhome line. Maybe there's a brick and mortar store in our future? Hopefully.

Congratulations to Brian! I love so many of his designs and his attention to sight lines. His house is beautiful and I love his wardrobe. My husband is the same size and build, if Brian wants to change his wardrobe while redecorating his house, kindly have him send everything to Eric, lol. Kidding not kidding, his fashion sense is impeccable.

@@benre Tone deaf to whom? I grew up working poor, took on 6 figure debt to go to school, paid off all that debt without outside help of any kind, and saved up for a beautiful home in one of the most expensive cities in the U.S. And still, I have no issues celebrating other people's success.
I love the kitchen. He is absolutely right on not needing or wanting a big kitchen where there is a big gap in your triangle. The triangle is The sink, Fridge, and Stove. And if you have a cook top, you don't want your square to be too big....include the oven. The rest of the house isn't my style but it is lovely. I like that moody black in the kitchen. Love that fireplace in the kitchen too. I wish I had a fireplace in my kitchen!

Wow Brian exquisite and lovely. That fireplace mantel is quite the piece along with the original Louis Vuitton trunk. I can tell you have some great original pieces that can never be handcrafted in such a way as they were in the past. Outstanding property.
