I was wondering why my new dipped beam bulb wasn't clicking back into the socket holder. Turns out i had it 180 degrees the wrong way round. I nearly wedged it in but watched the video one more time.
Okay problem the two screws at the start will not come out I’ve tried just unscrewing them I’ve tried using a flat head to from underneath to try push it up and unscrew at the same time just can’t get them out
@@desireeholloway3353 eventually i just popped them out with a flat head screw driver. dont worry it wont break them you can just use them again when putting the bumper back on
Is it just me, or did it take a concerning amount of force to lift the headlight unit out once everything else was unscrewed? I was genuinely worried that I was going to snap a clip or something.
Would be best to check the light is working before fully re-fitting all the fixings! My early 2017 Fiesta looks the same - but I needed to lift upwards slightly to release the headlight unit from the locator underneath (just snaps out/ back in). I only unfastened the cross head scrivet (screw/rivet) beside the lower Torx fixing. The multipin electrical connector connects to ALL the bulbs in the unit so none will work when it is uncoupled. Once you have completed fitting a new headlight bulb, you will realise it is pretty straightforward as long as you have the correct Torx head tool to undo the front and rear fasteners (seem to remember it being Torx 30 but stand to be corrected), Replace in pairs - once one bulb goes you can be sure the other isn't far behind. And the second will be easier than your first. Good Luck everyone.
I dont get the white "clip"?! The thing what the unit holds underneath. You need to push the unit on it or slide? And thank you so much for this vid. Its really accurate! 👏🏻👌🏻🖤
Yeah taking the headlight enclosure out is impossible without breaking something. Even after taking out all of the screws in the video, it still is stuck to something. I'm going to have to bring it in. Why does Ford make it so complicated to fix something so simple???
There are little lugs on the headlamp unit that slot under the front side panel. The video doesn't seem to mention these. You need to lift and twist the headlamp unit at the same time or these little lugs will prevent you getting it out.
Great, what happened to just removing the back an replacing the bulb? What happens when your down the road? Say France were you need to carry bulbs by law? Waste of time.
As a complete novice was a little nervous but entire job took less than 15 minutes. Great video that walks you through everything, thanks
Glad it helped!
yeah changing the car lights are something first time drivers should give a shot.
You guys make the best tutorials, very direct, step by step, no time wasted.
Thanks
Haynes , the masters of DIY repair - brilliant professional step by step video far better than the home videos of amatures and their wonky filming
Thanks!
Much better then the official Ford movie.
Thank you.
Great help!!
Wow, thanks!

What is the difference between the dipped beam and the main beam?
Fantastic, just what i was looking for. Will have a got at this today
Why isn't this video included in the online manual?
What size are the torx screws?

Thank you. That video was so helpful 👍👌💯

my issue appears to be getting that fastener to release, where the headlight and the front of the car hold together
Is it the four screws across the front end if so did u find a fix I have same issue
@@JMB730 yeah as far as i can remember, scrwdriver eventually worked, or something like that, once i could get under it
@@chrispickard5199 thank you I eventually got it i used a flat head and just popped them out

i did everything correct but the left headlight it is not sitting right after i removed and installed it again, what can i do?
Something not right when you re-install the headlight. Maybe it is not sitting to it place properly.
Good video.Really help a lot. God bless you
Glad it helped
What about the multi plug on the main beam bulb ?
The multiplug is disconnected at about 1'20"
What tools are needed...
A cross-head screwdriver, and a Torx screwdriver should be all you need.
Thanks!
so high beams are h7 and low beams h1 ?
UK market: H7 dipped beam, and H15 for the main beam
