  • In the woods after a small hike, I found this gem hidden in the woods. Closer to Wiesbaden than the KMC, it is still close to the river and all the castles located along the Rhine.
There are some mentions of a castle in this area as far back as 1398-1400, but this one is believed to have been built in the 1500's. Named after a British monk from the 7th century, all that is left is some of the walls of the tower. No other buildings can be seen, but there is a foundation I noticed that some believe was the chapel.

No problem. Thats the whole reason I do this. I want to give others the ability to see what is here even if they cant be here. So much to see and so little time.

Where exactly on the Rhine, are you trekking? #84 Sub
Hope you acquire an affinity for exploring Basque Country. I'm Irish American, and we are Basque, (Counties Kerry ✓ and Cork maintained the greater % of Basque DNA), (thus my enhanced 8nterest)
Before the Germanic invasions. England saw a series of invasions that ultimately affected the Irish: (Romans, Vikings, Anglos, Saxons, Jutes, Normans, all Germanics)
Genetics, a most valid record of History.
    Enjoy safe Explorations and Discoveries.
