@jackmasterdick False, Federer played serve-volley as a kid and mostly sliced his backhands. By the time he was up there, he felt that switching to a double-handed backhand would be too detrimental and stuck to his comparatively "weak" backhand.
@3timeMVPNash true. compared to a 100sqinch racquet, the wilson is not that much smaller if you put the frames on top of each other. the weight makes swinging the stick so easy. you don't even notice the weight because it's so headlight. but when you have to react quickly, this racquet will slow your arm down in most of the situations. but that's nothing you can't compensate with a bit of forearm training ;) i just love that stick!
@idontknow1919 what you see here is not practice of serving, they just want to get back their serve rhythm, feeling for ball toss and where to hit the ball if they want to hit in the other service box. so they just try to throw in as many balls as possible in a short period of time.
I used it for a good 2 years, it was pretty solid all around, but the k factor was better. Can't say the same about the prostaff blx though. Demoed it for a few days, it felt too light.
@kulakanwae I think he was just fucking around and tried to do a roddick serve. He actually did them quite a bit as well as 2 handed backhands, but I did not chose to shoot any of those, maybe I should have looking back, but my SDHC cards were filling up so fast and I had just about 10 mins for 30 mins worth of practice.
the kfactor, six one tour and the pro staff are pretty much the same. Anyone under pro level would hardly know the difference. (attention to strings and tension will make much greater impact for the hobby player) And on top of that the specs on the racket Fed is using is different than all three
When it's raining, then I guess they will only practice serving. Hard courts are dangerous even when there's just a little bit of rain for quick change of direction movement.
I think they r just fooling around in practice. Dont forget these r pros best in the world. for the record though I think I might be able to hit some of those volleys.
Think you're right. Fed could win easily w two handed backhand . Borg won five Wimbledon w two handed BH. He'd still slice w one hand when the situation called for it. Fed no doubt could do the same. And Feds serve bigger weapon than anyone cause of both speed , variety, and placement.
@hansioung yes captain obvious ... but come on, who hasn't had at least 1 training session on rain, they suck on clay because the ball because very heavy and ... dirty, but the other way around, they're kind of relaxing :)
the match would last forever ideally. They are exact equals so the rallies would last for hours lol. One will lose due to starvation lol and hitting winners would be almost impossible since there strategy is the same.
@NYLifeInNJ Comparatively weak? Yeah, right. He wouldn't have been the player he is today without a one-hander that made him the most versatile player ever.
if roger had a two handed backhand, he wouldn't have the variety or net ability that he has. early in his career when courts were fast, he would've been no where. 2 handed wouldn't suit his game. he is who he is because of what he is. any difference in any part of his game would make him different and not for the better.
天才と奇才
Federer's game got the court wet
lol
funniest comment ive read in a long time
Hahaha, excellent comment!
That kick serve at 3:14 ..... O_O So much action and he placed it so short and out into the box.
3:18 Federer hits a two handed backhand! So cool!
3:15 Gasquet's all distracted by Federer's serves, and his coach tells him to focus/ lol
Aww, you skipped the Ivanesevic serve that Fed was about to do
Gasquet has the best one handed backhand in the world..

good video quality, good angle, thank you for uploading.

Arthur Ashe Airport also hosts the US Open!
Interesting!! A 2 handed backhand by roger at 1:00
Making Djokovic proud @ 3:17
I would like to see a match between Federer and Federer. Inception, I know, but they both play awesome :P

i've seen a video of this practice with two views. can't find it right now. can someone link me to it please? thanks
the court is wei? is it raining?
Making Andy Murray proud @ 1:00
the court is wet? is it raining?
what shoes is he wearing????
was it raining or what? the court seems wet!
very good. thank you!
when did you shot this video? I was at the open watching practices and i missed this, now i regret
oh, it's begun to rain ...
Bro how close were u standing??
I mean HOWWW?
Great technique
Who is JP Morgan??
You answered your own question. He couldn't have done what he did without a super strong footwork.
What happened to his backhand 1:00?!
Gasquet should have at least been in a slam final by now. He doesn't seem to be very tough mentally, like Monfils said.
1:00 i'm shoked WTF was that Roger???
I used it for a good 2 years, it was pretty solid all around, but the k factor was better. Can't say the same about the prostaff blx though. Demoed it for a few days, it felt too light.
yeah! :D what if they play doubles? Federer/Federer: Federer/Federer... Damn, I need my head examined...
1:41 It's okay Gasquet. I do it all the time.
Why do they always step on the line when they practice serving?
@kulakanwae

4:42 goran's serve
put the covers on

statistically shortly after practicing with Federer players tend to do very well on tourneys. it should be illegal like steroids ^^
@TheDrowsyMadcap It's a pretty easy racket to use if you know how to hit a tennis ball.
I think that's karlovic's serve actually lol
@1:00 two handed backhand from federer , stick to the single roger
They practiced groundstrokes too.
NASTY kick serve at 3:15
@3timeMVPNash That's why I put it in quotes, DUH!!
He was trying to serve like Krajicek. Someone says it before.
you don't know that for sure, his 1 hand backhand can be just as good as 2 hand backhand...
4:41 Karlovic
why would he?
I think they r just fooling around in practice. Dont forget these r pros best in the world. for the record though I think I might be able to hit some of those volleys.
4:42 Ljubicic serve
I think there is little chance of that happening...
you know, if federer used a 2 handed backhand all the time, he would be unstoppable. but less classy...

Federer's coach getting paid for watching fed and talking on the phone 3:39

Federer's footwork always looks super lazy to me. Maybe that's just bc it's so efficient that it looks effortless?
Amateur? He's the 19th ranked in the world. That's not an amateur.
that would be cool, but federer would win
blx six.one tour 90''. i recommend against using it. The newer prostaff blx tour 90'' is much better and so was the kfactor six.one tour 90''.
it's either ust me thinkin this, or gasguet cannot volley for shit
IAMLS360 タイガーマスク
why would he do tht when he's got the best one handed backhand in the world..... he is just messing up
FEDERER HIT 2 TWOHANDED BACKHANDS IN ALL THE VIDEO.... FEDERER'S ONEHANDED BACKHAND IS BETTER !!!
roger please , please ! do not play with 2hand backhand ... i beg you ...
- Отл!
Ljubichich, I suppose
Lol gasquet's volleys suck in practice
