This is really worrying that the car shows only 194 miles of range on the full charge. It's way to far from promised 276 miles. You mention that the car has be opened when it's charging? So anyone can just open the car while charging?

The reason behind the car showing 194 miles on 100% charge is that this specific car is our demonstrator here at Luscombes, which means that the car throughout its young life has been driven hard to show prospective customers what it can do. So the car's computer analyses previous driving behaviors and provides a suggestion based on that. A brand new MG Cyberster, driven sensibly, or in a "real world" scenario, will deliver the 276 miles as the manufacturer suggests. Now for the charging, what I meant was in order for charging to initiate, you need to unlock the car, plug it in, and then lock the car. So in a scenario where you are home and the car is locked, you then open the charging port and plug it in without unlocking the car, the charging will not start. You first need to first unlock the car, plug it in and then lock it again. My apologies, this was myself not appropriately explaining this so thank you for the fair comment.
