Racism continues to be a significant and enduring challenge in our society, affecting countless lives and perpetuating division. However, it is essential to recognize that differences among individuals are an inherent part of humanity-these can manifest in various forms, such as height, cognitive abilities, cultural beliefs, and personal values. Instead of allowing these differences to create barriers between us, we should embrace the richness of our diversity. By fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of one another's unique backgrounds and perspectives, we can work towards creating a brighter, more inclusive future where everyone feels valued and respected. This commitment to empathy and respect can pave the way for unity and collaboration, ultimately strengthening our communities. Firearms can used to protect us or can be used against us.

As a Black African immigrant who moved to America with my family in my teenage years, I’m thankful for the opportunities this country has offered us. However, I’ve faced my share of racism and discrimination, which is a daily reality. Living in a small town in Wisconsin as a Black man, I’ve experienced both subtle and overt forms of racism. It’s infuriating at times, but, like many immigrants, I’ve learned to move past it and keep going. I just ignore it and go on with my life

As an African American I am glad you can ignore it and move on with your life. Thank God your experiences were not a generational trend which goes back generations and centuries which has cause a continuous trend of social, economic, academic and psychological damage to you and your community and family. You must have immigrated to the U.S. at the butt-end of the trauma and degradation and are just catching the remanences of the fallout. You're so lucky that you came at the right time, before the Civil Rights Era it was much worse than it is now, so worse many still cannot recover and are permanently psychologically damaged, this is why they are bringing the immigrants in to replace them, knowing that they will never recover. from generations of torture and neglect

I used to have insane back pain and bad posture in my early 20s when I was significantly underweight to the point that it was almost a disability. I had at one point considered getting a consult with a neurosurgeon because it was causing me so much pain on a daily basis. I started weightlifting, put on 50 lbs and it literally disappeared permanently. Somehow the muscles gained from weightlifting reoriented my bad posture and fixed everything in my back.
I wasn't surprised at all when goobie mentioned that people often heal from spine problems just from diet and exercise. That totally tracks my experiences and what I've heard countless times from others. Deadlifts and front-squats saved my spine.

What’s interesting about these type of folk is, they will aim to provoke and destroy others minds and lives. Only to turn around and complain when someone does them dirty or some kind of illness or hardship falls on them. Often times aim to go as far as psychoanalyzing the very individuals and the mental illnesses that they fall prey to, compliments of their choice actions and behavior. 👀 It’s as if being successful in defiling, traumatizing, breaking and getting someone stuck is rewarding. I get that encountering such stupidity can be a thorn, but it isn’t the type of thorn that should leave you bearing anyone’s crosses. #period

Nice complex to live but not a place for minorities to socialize. As an example: one of my neighbors who is white moved here with her husband. Her apartment was always teeming with white visitors. She never once invited me nor any other minorities to visit. The husband passed away. Then she came knocking on my door asking me to come visit her. I refused because no other white person in the complex is visiting her. I suspect she has the idea that as a black person I must serve her. A sycophantic Hispanic couple caters to her. Well, my immediate neighbors don’t think much of me and I could care less,

You can look around you every time you go outside and find someone else who's experienced similar. It's me, it's my neighbors, etc., and while a lot of us are successful, we've been through, and continue to go through, a very unfair experience. Some of us speak out against it but a lot of us don't. A first step to fixing it is to be consistently inclusive/kind to someone who doesn't look like you.

I'm black and Puerto Rican, with some German and Native American in there. Both sides of my family have mostly been in America longer than most Americans. Growing up in Indianapolis, I had to be either fully white or fully black, otherwise it was fights nearly daily. Eventually, immigrant and Mexican hate started to creep in when I was a teen, and that made some of life a bit harder, especially with my white friends. Then 9/11 hit, and I felt the full brunt of American racism, where people started treating me like I was Middle Eastern. I even joined the military, and had people be racist to me while in uniform. Fast forward to 2015, and hearing the Trump rhetoric, I knew what it was and what it meant. But back then I was called naive, a snowflake, etc. Fast forward to today, and I am finally in full recognition of America's racism, and I've lost all trust in this country. I can't keep getting slapped all these years, and be expected to love this country. I'm growing to hate it and the people in it, and despite seeing examples of people trying to learn about racism and discrimination, I don't have faith for the majority.

Try not to let their actions determine who you are. They’re already succeeding if you’re feeling this way. Don’t be pulled in. Hatred feeds off hatred. Don’t feed them anymore. ❤ I’m sorry, my words are so empty, I’ve returned to your comment several times wanting to say something but I falter. I did just leave a general comment referencing a book you might find useful - “The Courage to be Disliked” by Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga. Despite being a meditator for 50 years, reading scads of books regarding spirituality and enlightenment, seeing a therapist, I still have a long way to go and so I appreciate tools of all kinds. This book was a huge surprise to me and beckons being read multiple times. Its simplicity is powerful. You’ve been through muck and mire, don’t waste those experiences. As Dr Gooby says, we’re in this together, slogging and muddling our way through the mucky life but like the lotus flower will rise beautifully out of the muck towards the sun and sky.

My husband is Asian, I am not. He moved here from Thailand when he was 16. He has a couple friends who are Asian, but most of his friends are white. The people who helped him stay in this country were white. They gave him the money he needed to go to college. He told them he would pay them back with interest. They said they were not worried about it. There were other people who helped him out and they were white. All his friends in college were white. He finished college and got a job in his field and paid them all back. He has always had a job even when the economy was bad because he was really good at what he did. Every boss he had and most of his coworkers were white. He never felt discriminated against. He bought a house when he was around 25 years old. No one stopped him from buying the house. He is still friends with people he knew from his beginning here. He has never had difficulty getting a job, working, living in a community. He’s 68 now. This country has given him so much and so many people helped him along his way. His mom and sisters were able to immigrate here because of he was able to succeed in becoming a US citizen. If it were not for all the people, Americans, who helped him, his story would have been different. I have friends from many countries. We all play volleyball together. No one discriminates. Kids are mean. Maybe since my husband came here in high school people were not mean. He was the only Asian student in that school. He met a boy who asked his parents to help him. Americans in general are good people. Obviously, there are a lot of people who watch and follow you and it had nothing to do with your race and everything to do with your character. I am Haitian by decent but born and raised in the US. When I was growing up in Miami, I’m sad to say that I was ashamed of my Haitian heritage, and I wouldn’t tell anyone. The African-Americans didn’t like us, the Cubans didn’t like us, and we were not white and being in the south I always felt just so out of place. I remember I always wanted my mom to speak to us only in English… Even though she had a pretty good accent… I thought somehow that that would hide me in the crowd whether they’re at the grocery store or in our neighborhood. I remember there was a girl named Gayle who was in my elementary school and she was so proud to be Haitian. I was envious of her as I would watch her wear her y-shirts promoting the Haitian culture. Dummy me didn’t catch up until my 20s when I started realizing what a vibrant, strong, independent, intelligent group I am blessed to be born into. I think all cultures have gifts and talents, as well as intelligence. However, there is no other country that’s ever become independent on its own as a black republic, and I take pride in that. Needless to say, I’m proud to say that I am an MDJD now. God has been better than good to me and let me to the right people and down the right avenues to reach my goals. I’m also thankful to be able to give back to the less fortunate because I know what it feels like.

There is collective shift in consciousness. We must learn to listen and uphold each other more. It was a Vietnamese Buddhist temple I came to during covid. They understandably had reservations about allowing me to join in at first. But over time, I noticed a bridge forming rather than a barrier. As I immersed myself in the ways of the temple, I found practical solutions that could be implemented in the real world. Thich Nhat Hanh promoted a vision of engaged buddhism. Where teachings of compassion and understanding go hand in hand with social justice. At this stage, I dont think left or right. But go the middle way. Cultural appreciation must come from a place of mutual respect and understanding, not appropriation and ignorance.

Unfortunately, racism is taught and has been part of America since it creation. America has perfected racism over hundreds of years and we are seeing it in action as I type these words. As a black Oklahoman, born and raised, racism was and has been part of my 60 years on this earth. The only good I can say is that surprisingly my life was better than my parent, grandparents, great-grandparents, and great great-grandparents. Sad that humans can be so evil.

Thank you for sharing your story. It's not easy because there's enough people out there whose worldview hinges on racism not being "real." I am white and in the US south, but I was lucky to be raised in a progressive household so I understood racism existed, but I didn't understand how deep the rot went until I was a bit older.
I vividly recall the moment that opened my eyes. I walked into an art supply store in Chicago when they were having a "spin the wheel" style giveaway. I, a young college student, was cheerfully and warmly told by the worker running the giveaway to come back every day that week to play again. After collecting a prize, I walked away and started browsing items nearby that counter. Soon, a black man came up to the prize wheel and was flatly, unkindly told it was a one time per person before being given a spin. It was such a different tone and take that I was flabbergasted. From then on, I learned how to start seeing it and have made it a life mission to ensure I never treat other people so wildly differently based on appearance like that one worker did.

Man, you are genuinely such a breath of a fresh air. Please keep doing what you’re doing. It feels so nice to be able to relate to someone about the state of the world. Being autistic is cool in a lot of ways, but it does unfortunately come with certain downsides, one of which is being able to perceive things more objectively than many neurotypical people often do.
Just watched your video about accepting the collapse of civilization as well. I’m going through the same thing. It’s so painful, so weighty, the magnitude of the destruction our actions as a species are about to unleash on the planet.
And to add salt in the wound, I am complicit. I eat meat, and I don’t particularly want to give it up. Another downside of autism. Changing my diet, routine, anything like that is incredibly distressing.
So I just smoke a shit ton of weed to cope with all this. What the fuck else can I actually do? Nobody seems interested in seeing reality for what it is. They’re either not intellectually equipped to understand, or they’re too emotionally weak to believe such a bleak truth. Anti-intellectualism has completely taken over the culture. I’m afraid that we’re going to witness atrocities committed towards immigrants by Trumpturd and his admin!! We only got a small taste of it from 2016-2020 when very kidnapped thousands of kids from their own parents at the border!! Saddest part is hundreds of those kids are STILL not accounted for and have NOT been returned to their families but their families have been deported!!! I shudder to think of where those poor babies are today!!😢😢😢 All minority communities must come together STAY together and do whatever we can to protect one another!!

Im sorry about this brother, I am black so I can relate to some degree. No one deserves to feel less than because of how they were born. Asian men and black men should come together and unite

I am so sorry that you've faced so much racism, even if it is expected in America, unfortunately. As a black woman it's healing for racism to be acknowledged and not just told that it isn't real, so thank you. One of my best friends from high school is Asian, and I remember being so surprised when she told me how ashamed she was made to feel about her face because she is Asian. It broke my heart because she is so stunning, and had things I wished I had, like long beautiful flowing hair. And she told me I had big beautiful eyes. And it hurt to see how neither of us felt as beautiful as we saw the other because of the illusion of ugliness pushed onto us by these harmful and cruel stereotypes. As a medical student, I am moved by your empathy and respect your journey so much as a former neurosurgeon and more importantly as a person. Thank you for your honesty about your spiritual experiences and your acknowledgement of difficulty faced by all people. It is so important, and means so much. I often fear that when I graduate as a doctor next year, people will assume I am not smart enough because I am not white or Asian. But it gives me a lot of hope to know that there are people like you in medicine, even if you have left the profession, which I also respect you for now that I've had a taste of what it requires.

As an Asian American, I have been experiencing discrimination and racism both from the white and the black until now. My son was also bullied and singled out in his all-white-boy (except him) baseball team, even though he is half Asian and half White. I could never fit in the team moms, and a few times during watching the baseball games, some little kids asked me why I was there while their moms heard that and said nothing. Later, my son quit the baseball team and got into the track and field team, he felt much better and welcomed due to the diversity, so as his university now.

No other race will ever match the discrimination and hate Asians have for darker skinned people anywhere on planet earth!

    • @shin-ishikiri-no
      @shin-ishikiri-no 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Main reason some bIacks are racist against Asians has to do with the perception that most Asians hate everything about bIacks on a primitive level. Even if this isn't true, most Asian cultures literally despise dark skin, so it's not difficult to do the math and assume they will dislike you for it. Is it an absolute conclusion? No. There are many great Asian people out there who are kind and open minded, but the perception is that they are an extreme minority. That said that is where it comes from. That plus the general insularity of most Asian communities, where they usually only hang out not just with other Asians, but others Asians of similar ethnic/national stock. The only exception to this is white people, but that has more to do with Asians desperately trying to fit in with whites who are seen in Asian circles as the pinnacle of human beings. Let's be honest, there is a reason Asian women are more likely to date white than Asian. It's about obtaining "good" European jeans and DNA. Eugenics. That is the cold motivation. I rarely see Asians spending time with any demographic that isn't white, or from their respective clan. Essentially, the other races don't exist (or are inconsequential) to many of them.

I am also Asian in Canada. For some reason I was not singled out to be bullied from white classmates but my Cambodian friend at different class had a tough time. He was singled out the first day of school and he knows martial arts. When bullied He asked to fight the leader after school. The Canadian guy is taller and much bigger. My friend was shorter and a bit skinny but he did what he could and had bruises after the fight of course. The next day, he asked for another fight with the leader. The same result. He fought another fight the next day, After the third fight the leader of Canadian school gang said:" OK! You're small but you had balls. We will leave you alone from now on".

I visited Miami South Beach in 2024 for the ia long time. I went to eat at a restaurant, the waiter asked me to sit down when I tried to choose a table, the waiter shouted loudly no sir there no no. I was shocked by his behavior and left, he still shouted after me you will never come back will you? I am from Finland and fair-skinned, but I am shocked at what American culture has led to in terms of poor service and behavior towards people. I thought that if I pay 50 usd for the food and tips on top of that the restaurant service and place is not worth it.

As a child growing up in the 1960's, my mother was a single parent raising 3 blonde, blue eyed kids. She made half as much money for the same job as a man, which meant that her wages were insufficient to cover all the expenses. Fortunately, one of her native American co-workers offered help through the Indian reservation. We ended-up pretty much living there and being part of the bigger family. It wasn't an easy life as they didn't have running water in their 3 room dirt floor homes, but they were good to us. However, the white kids at school teased me and called me squaw. I was brokenhearted because I wished to have the same physical characteristics.
Panning forward, there have been many more times when I was physically harmed because of my nordic features. Ultimately, I pray that God will open the souls of all to see that we are all brothers and sisters, and we can do so much more when we work together in peaceful harmony.
