    Here are a few additional tips that might help your computer/laptop run smoother.
    TL:DR - How to create a restore point, disable window os animation, minimize/disable window downloading updates, deleting old window os files, how to disable software in the background(services), How to disable startup [Mentioned in Video] & How to enable all processors to boot up computer [Window set it to single thread by default] (Located in Comments been getting Fail to post due to how massive it is)

    • @Kinrian2797
      @Kinrian2797 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      [Before making any chances: Create a restore point]
      *Press Window Button on your keyboard (or the gear icon located above your shut-down icon on your screen), Search "About your pc", "advanced system setting" (located on the right side or at the bottom). In "system properties" click on "system protection" press configure. Turn on System protector & set around 5% usage. After applying click on "create" and name the file
      ^ This saves the computer files currently so in the future whenever the computer slows down due to malware or bricking it can be saved. I highly suggest doing it on a brand new computer so it saves it when its brand new instead of doing a factory reset which can cause issues due to lost files.
      [Changes to make your computer run smoother and responsive: Search the terms either by clicking the window button on keyboard or the gear icon above the shut down button on your screen]
      *Stay on the "system properties" window and click on the "advanced" tab click setting under performance (visual effect etc...) uncheck all options listed in visual effect beside "smooth edges of screen fonts" , "show windows contents while dragging" & "show thumbnails instead of icons
      ^ Windows uses animation in their OS to make it more presentable but it runs in the background. In removing them it makes opening up apps more snappier and responsive.

    • @Kinrian2797
      @Kinrian2797 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      *Press the window button on your keyboard (search) search up startup apps (system setting) [Or task managers underneath startup tab]. Disable apps that you rarely use or your propriety is opening up a certain game or web page
      ^ When booting up, the computer focuses on starting all the apps that are enabled which slows down the system in being responsive and this includes lag on lower end computers. Minimize the # of startup apps used so the computer is ready for use sooner rather than later.
      *Search up "delivery optimization" set all options to the minimal and click on "percentage of measured bandwidth" & checkmark them"
      ^ This is to minimize what window's use to download update which could slow down your computer especially when gaming. Allowing only 5% to still allow window to download updates and not disable it outright
      *Search up temporary files, in the storage setting click on temporary files. Remove files (already pre-checked)
      ^ Window does not delete the old OS files after updating. You might have several GB of old window OS files ready to be deleted
      *Optional: Window button, type in "System Configuration". Under the "service" tab checkmark "hide all microsoft services.
      ^This is a more technical variant of "startup" where you can disable services running in the background your not aware of or unable to get rid of in "startup" You might even see services on apps you have deleted awhile back still active. Just be mindful of what you disable.

    • @Kinrian2797
      @Kinrian2797 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      [Biggest change in time to boot up (Excludes Hard Disk Drive OS Users)]
      *Window Button, Type in "System Configuration", Boot Tab, Checkmark "No GUI boot", click on advanced options. Check mark # of processors and set it to the highest value. Press OK and apply, you will get a prompt to reset your PC. Reset it.
      ^ Window by default only use ONE processor when booting up your computer. In enabling this. It allows your PC to use ALL your processors on boot up and getting it ready for use. This would work considerably well for users who don't have the best single thread clock speed performance. It's helpful when you're on the god or don't like keeping the computer running when you're away.
      Currently using Ryzen 5700g (16 processors) with my OS on a M.2 SSD and my computer ready for use before my monitor even wakes up [Around 7 second boot up [includes the post delay of 2 seconds]
      *In case your computer end up starting back on constantly when you shut it off. go into "power plan" click on "power options" "choose what the power button do" & disable fast startup
      ^ Window has this enable where your computer goes into a deeper hibernation mode instead of a total shutdown of the computer

    • @Kinrian2797

      Misc. Tips
      *If you use Ryzen Radeon Software I suggest trying to increase the saturation by a smidge. It gives some games more color without performance lost
      ^ Additionally. There Radeon Chill where you can lock FPS for certain games or have it set to low when idle whenever you need to go eat dinner for better temps/battery life for laptop then ramp back up once you come back.
      *There's software out there where you can set fan speeds based on what games you are playing without entering Bios. Instead of having it where your laptop is cooked alive due to playing a game that ramps temp too quickly and the fan is not kicking on till it near throttle. You can have it where it runs faster even when the computer is running cool at the moment of opening the game up.
      *When Transporting your Desktop PC. After you unplug the power cable. Press and Hold the power button for 20 seconds this will ground excess electricity so you can either safely transport it or take out components (This is also good occasionally when messing around with voltages so it doesn't damage any parts.)
      ------------------------
      In case there are those few who ventures into the bios here's a few other misc. tips
      *Some dimm ram have a XMP profile which overclocks the ram automatically for you BUT its not enable by default when installed. Check if your ram sticks have a XMP profile. In the bios its usually listed as D.O.C.P (AI overclock tuner) or Profile in easy mode. Note it might not post EITHER increase the soc voltage to 1.05 (2x dimm) or 1.1 (4x dimm) [Don't go past 1.2v for SoC for most boards) OR increase the ram voltage to 1.35v+
      *If you have a Ryzen APU, You might have noticed that VRAM fluctuates. It because the vega graphics is using your ram as its vram automatically though your system. However, it does not apply well to certain games that have a console or mobile variant (i.e Genshin, Ori, Little nightmare etc.) In the bios look up UMA Frame Buffer Size. There you can set the GB of ram to be used for the Integrated GPU Vram. NOTE: This is a locked configuration so the ram itself will not use the set amount for vram. Set it to 6 or 8GB.
      *"CPU Core Ratio" to set what ratio you want your Computer to be at. Then Set "CPU Core Voltage to a desirable voltage. Note this will enable all your cores to be a certain speed and will take some trial and error to get a stable voltage. The Computer itself will crash and reboot if it cant post properly Most modern desktop cpu try to stay around 1.2 (base) or 1.35v (safe overclock voltage). Managed 4200MHZ @1.15v, 4400MHZ @ 1.25v, or 4600MHZ @ 1.35v on all 8 cores on a Ryzen 5700g (APU) with a dedicated GPU card (its integrated gpu is disable)
      I'd stay away from changing this if you have a warranty on the CPU
      ^Note: If your using a APU with no dedicated GPU. your best bet is to undervolt the CPU and overclock the GPU counterpart by +200mhz or so for stability and performance.

  • @dreyb1801
    @dreyb1801 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    What worked for me was to set my maximum processor state to 99% (on battery) & 100% (plugged in). This gives my CPU a wide range of values btw the base clock (2.8Ghz) & the boost clock (3.6Ghz) while gaming. The tdp equally moves btw 13W to about 40W (47W is max tdp). Temps range from 60+°C to 90+°C while gaming but never stays at 90+°C for more than a few seconds. Notebook fan control helps with cooling. And uninstall any 3rd party antivirus software like AVG, Avast, etc. They interfered with other apps that help with temp management. Windows defender is enough. Just enable all protections in settings & run scans periodically.

    if you need help on laptops, increase your power plan to ultimate (if you dont care about how fast your battery will empty, like me) and plug your laptop to a charger. this will easily give a lot of power to the cpu, which in turn will help your laptop be a lot much faster. the only issue is that, if your room temperature is much high, its probably going to heat much.

    The operating system is not dumb, if you run a game and your max cpu state is 100% it should raise the frequencies to max or so. If it doesn't do that it will probably help you, but if you have a powerful CPU with lots of cores it will give you more power consumption when you're not doing anything and thus more heat at idle. Also when you run some applications you may see the frequencies go up for a short time when it is loading and then down again, this is normal and should be the case.
    And the fact that you have shown for example 1.5 at idle and became 3.2 in the task manager does not mean anything because under load there would be an automatic increase to 3.2 or close to it.
