I would add an option to remove Edge too, if you uninstall it with control panel it removes new edge but guves you back the old edge

    Suggestions:
Make different levels of the script like:
[Low] (only remove a few things)
    [Medium] (for most people) (default)
[High] (removes an extreme amount of things)
I also recommend adding decisions to the script like:
Do I want to install xy software?
Do I want to uninstall xy software?

I tend to prefer to install software myself. Sometime for example, I have a stable older version of a software, and I keep a copy of a dowloaded exe file to re install from, if and when needed, and I prefer to choose when I update the software to the newest version, if at all.
But the newest script at this time, allows you to choose if and what you install, so that’s cool.

And leaves even more of my dual Quad Core processors for my important tasks, and not for Microsoft's idea of important! Subbed, looking forward to exploring more of your content!
And, I've been practically pulling what little remains of my hair out, trying to get all 64 GB of my RAM recognized by Windows, to no avail...so 24 is pale in comparison to the potential. LOL

    Questions :
    (i) - Does it removes preinstalled user software eg. Chrome, or any particular software that I downloaded from internet.
(ii) - Is it just made to run at a clean boot only or I can run it anytime I want even on older PC that has many preinstalled software.
    Suggestions :
    (i) - Please make an option to ask whether you want to remove OneDrive or not because I think many Windows user doesn't use it anyway.
(ii) - Also make a change in the script so that it automatically removes indexing from subfolders of C:\ as it makes the computer faster.

This is a major benefit, even more so for an old laptop with a tired battery. You get nag popups from Windoze at every boot though.

Either I have one or more of them installed or rather opt out of installing them. Would be nice to have that choice.

I am a bit confused. Does the script just "toggles off" all the privacy settings or does it actually disables it(like running something behind the scene to freeze it) and/or does it removes the telemetry components?
Also, why did you decide to add applications to it?
I don't mind stuff like vlc and all since they're opensource but why is installing application part of a "windows de-bloat" script in the first place?
Would really appreciate your answer. Thank you (:

    • @ChrisTitusTech
      @ChrisTitusTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

This is a non-intrusive script so it toggles them off when it comes to privacy.
It does however remove some telemetry and most schedule tasks that will cause problems.
I wanted to be an all-in-one script so that's why I opted to install programs as well.
However based on the feedback I'll definitely add more interactive to it and give users the choice.

    a comment and a suggestion
I remember having a DOS script set up on a 3 1/2" floppy when I would set up a customers or my own computer that would do a full install minus common complained about bloats and also had it auto edit settings during the install. took an extra 5 minutes of install, but it would be 50-150% faster from boot up to running things such as games and programs. my benchmarks were always well above a "standard" install. Windows does so much that actually hinders performance and not just direct computer things, but also how well/fast it would communicate with the internet.
now for the suggestion. set up a script creator that has the base script set up then people can pick and choose the things added and/or removed and it will create a script that can be copy and pasted, or a small individualized download to be ran. all questions can be pre answered, and they can have it for later to do another PC, or just not have to deal with prompts or things they don't want to have changed. I've seen a few other web pages make script editors and creators that would make this so much more refined.

  • @Valdraya

We need an explanation for all the consequenses of running this tool. What is going to stop working. What will break. What improvements wil we see. I ran this tool and it did all sorts of borked things to my system. I’d like to know the consequences of each change. For instance, removing Cortana seems to completely stop the actually helpful Search functions that remember software and tools that exist on the system, and what you’ve used recently. This tool seems to be for people who just want to be totally in control. Which I get, but most of us don’t want to have to administer a system to that level. If I wanted that, I’d use Linux and put up with its substandard systems for printing, monitors and so on.
