Hi Christine! After intensely watching this about 20 times, I have finally found the guts to make this bread. I left it for 24hrs to rise, put it in the oven and bam! I just made my very first absolutely perfect loaf of bread in the oven! The look of it and the taste? Perfection! Thank you so much for your channel.. I’m going through them one by one, and I have learnt a lot so far... keep the videos coming! ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much for your comment!! I have a glass casserole dish with a lid and nothing cast iron so I was wanting to try it but afraid it wouldn't turn out. Thank you for letting us know that it is an option!!
Jap Pagano thanks for this comment. I have a pyrex with a glass lid and was wondering if it would work. Thanks. I have a loaf pan but not 2 so no cover for my loaf pan. So excited. My dough is resting. Tomorrow is my 51st birthday and wanted to make this bread to have with my birthday dinner my family is cooking for me. It will be my first bread from scratch and not our of a can. or box. 😁
I added raisins and a small amount of cinnamon and it made the best toast, love, love, love this recipe have passed it on to a dozen friends, I mix it at night and bake in the morning. Thanks for sharing.
Just found you last week and we've made the bread multiple times already and my youngest is obsessed. She ate it several mornings with a little butter for breakfast!
Oh...My...Goodness! As a lifelong bread baker, (my grandma taught me when I was 5) I have always done the process of mix, knead, rest, knead, shape then bake. We're talking over an hour of work throughout the day. This was awesome, turned out perfectly. Would be great with soup or stew. On top I would offer is putting a piece of parchment in the bottom of the pan before the cornmeal. Alleviates any chance of sticking.
I’ve been making no knead bread for a couple of years in the Dutch oven. Never occurred to me that it would work in a regular old loaf pan! Thank you! Oh and one tip I’ve found for easy clean up...I dump my dough into floured parchment paper and then just lift the whole thing into the dutch oven. Less mess in the pan and the parchment gives you something to grab to pull it out. P.s. love the shirt
For those making whole wheat without the gluten. My loaf turned out fine using just 1 t tbsp sugar to kinda agitate the yeast. Also you will need quite a bit more water than both recipes call for. I just slowly added more and more until i got the consistency christine showed. White and whole wheat turned out great!
I'm making orange chicken soup for tonight and my husband requested 'that bread that frugal Christine makes' 😁 I added some rosemary and chopped olives, it smells amazing and never fails!!!
Decided to finally give it a try last night. So, I went ahead and made up the dough last night. I couldn't wait any longer and started a little after the 8 hour mark of letting the dough rest lol. My very first loaf of bread i baked came out of the oven about 30 minutes ago and it's already half gone! My family couldn't wait to eat it and they absolutely love it! Nothing like fresh, warm bread with some butter on it. Thank you so much, Mrs. Christine! God bless you and your family. :)
I've been making bread for about 30 years. I started as a stay at home/homeschooling Mom. I'm going to try this because I want the "easyness" of it and the slight sour dough result, which I've not done much. Thanks! Love all your other videos. I'm saving that money for retirement!! Take care from southeast Virginia!
Hello Christine, I have tried your no knead bread and it is quite the best loaf I have ever made. I also tried the half white flour and half wholemeal today with the same results. I can’t tell you how many recipes I have tried and subsequently failed at until this one. It is just delicious. Lovely rise, colour, texture and taste. Thank you. Kind regards Karen
MomAndKie Hello MomAndKie, I live in the United Kingdom so I’m not sure about the Italian bread you maybe use. But this bread is soft inside with a crisp and crunchy crust. It is utterly delicious, with an integrity that means you can pile on sauce based foods like baked beans without the bread becoming soggy. It’s the bread our Grandparents used to make. No additives just pure ingredients. Well worth trying. I love the no knead method too it couldn’t be simpler. I tend to make up the mixture in the afternoon then I pop it into the refrigerator to prove over night, baking it the next morning. It’s a winner, give it a go. Best regards Karen.
Ok....so let me tell you.....I made four loaves of these in the last week.....THIS CONCEPT IS COMPLETELY AND MIND BLOWING AMAZEMENT!!!!! I thought when you talked about this recipe in your video I was like no way that would work. IT COMPLETELY WORKS!!!! Initially i was like...I’ll play and try this....OMGosh! Everyone you have to try this. Thank you Thank you Thank you!
Did you put the cornmeal in the bottom of the pan like she did? Some people use parchment paper. I want to use flour lol. Trying to weigh out my options
Sandy Amaral No, I didn’t....i would have if I had some at the time. I will try corn meal next time though. I did do a little flour and that just burned....so don’t try that. Just go for it. The worst thing that can happen is that you have to throw it away. I experimented with different pans. I used a Pampered Chef loaf pan with a cast iron skillet as a lid.....but I love how she made them with two loaf pans in a different video. One as the lid. One of the times, I used a cast iron Dutch oven we use for camping...that worked great. It doesn’t really expand to fill out the pan....But the lid is essential. My husband is wanting to make this when we go camping. At our camping family reunions everyone tries to make something awesome to share for dinners...my husband wants to maybe make this there. Jumping in and trying something like this is completely unusual for me ..... but here I am recommending you do the same. Give it a try and let me know how it goes for you.
Mackenzie Fron That depends on so much.....shape of the pan and how thick obviously. If I let it cool, I could give you a better estimation. However, we all start picking at the bread while it is still warm and hack off a piece. We usually use it as a snack and for soups or chili. My daughter says it has a saltine cracker taste to her. My kids wouldn’t eat it as sandwich bread. They like their soft white sandwich bread. I can mix a batch right now and give you more details tomorrow. I will be cooking it in a 10 inch cast iron Dutch oven. Unless I get to the dollar tree to buy two loafs pans today. I’ll be back Mackenzie!
Mackenzie Fron Sorry for the delay....I did make the bread yesterday and I DID let it cool before cutting into it....that was a first. My daughter came down and wanted to eat it immediately until I told her my experiment for you. I made the bread in a 10 inch cast iron Dutch oven. I poked the bread down to make it fill the entire bottom of the pan. I would say you can get 8 slices of bread but they are 10 inches long. To make it easier to cut, I sliced the loaf in half. The loaf is round so the pieces on the edges of the loaf are smaller. I would say about 7 sandwiches. I asked my daughter about eating the bread as a sandwich...she says...”since it is more of an artisan bread, the crust is crunchier and I don’t like that in a sandwich.” Would you eat it as a sandwich, “Probably not” The bread is still amazing. My family prefers to eat it as slices cut off vs sandwich bread. This completely my opinion...give it a try MacKenzie....let me know how it worked for you.
This is really helpful since I'm in a coronavirus quarantined area in Austria right now, and being able to bake my own bread helps a lot to get through the next (hopefully only) 2 weeks stuck at home... Thank you so much!
Thank you for keeping things "real" and for inspiring other Moms out there just trying to get by--day to day! I'm excited to try this bread out! Thanks for sharing! #YouAreMyFavoriteTH-camMom
One thing to mention - fresh ground whole wheat flour should be kept in refrigerator or freezer as it contains oil that will go rancid and destroy the B vitamins in it. Most store-bought whole wheat is already rancid. Good health food stores will have it in the refrigerator.
Bread has GOT to cool. Otherwise the inside feels raw and doughy and just isn't bread-like and delicious. It's still cooking when its hot. I know it's hard to wait, but you knead (ha) to if you want it to be GOOD.
@@o.m5091 Same! I have never liked peanut butter and have only a few that don't as well. Try almond butter, it's pretty easy to make and taste a lot better although I still prefer honey, but for a change-up it's good!
TH-cam recommended your channel to me last week and I've been binge-watching your videos ever since. I made your easy banana bread recipe today and it was AMAZING! I will definitely try this bread tomorrow. Thanks so much!
I have made 3 loaves of this bread so far and its the easiest bread ever. Thank you for sharing!!! I find that the dough tends to do better with a little too much water rather than too little. Just insure its still a dough, not a liquid, not a batter. This bread is hard to over proof so a longer rest is better than too short. Also bread can since fear, be confident, work with intention, and work fast. A bench scrapper works wonders with getting it under control. I use a cast iron dutch oven to cook this in and it turns out lovely. Thank you again for sharing the recipe, my family now asks me to make this regularly.
I've been making this bread for about six months since I found this recipe and I love it. This last two times I chopped one cup of green olives with pimentos and added it to the dough when I mixed it. I HIGHLY recommend this variant. It doesn't change cooking or rising time at all and it's a delicious change for a savory bread! Keep up the work. I love it.
I’ve made this a couple of times, since watching the $30 budget. It’s super easy and delicious! I’m going to make some more today!! Thanks for all the videos that you post! ❤️
Right now with the craziness going on, I’ve shared this on FB and am continuing to make it. You should post any other super easy recipes for people who are stuck at home right now!
I have made this bread 2 times and I am in love!!!!!!!! This is super easy!!!!! My husband loves when he comes home and sees my bread 🍞 waiting for it to rise! #riseandshine ❤️ Thank you Christine!!!!
My husband and I are trying out this recipe today. First batch of white bread rested for about 13 hours, the next for about 20/24. We will update! So excited, thank you! Update: it turned out incredible! Very good bread, nice crunch yet soft on the inside.
I made this, let it sit for 3 hours and it was fine. Also, I put it on parchment paper in the Dutch oven to bake. It is great bread. Whip it up in the morning, let it rise at least 3 hours, bake and it's ready for supper.
Disclaimer: I have never commented on a video before. This recipe made me. I've made bread before, but this will be my new go to recipe. So easy, so good. I ate a quarter of a loaf as soon as it was cool enough.
Oh holy heck! This was the best bread I’ve ever made …and I’ve made a lot of bread! Thank you doesn’t seem to cut it..but you’ve changed my life and the life of those around me by sharing this delicious - and much less labor intensive - recipe. You rock!
Just started watching you a couple days ago when my friend shared the extreme grocery challenge video with me. Since then I have been binging your videos nonstop. I have been wanting to meal plan but it seemed so hard and time consuming. You've made it not so intimidating. I've learned so much for your channel already and can't wait to get started using everything I've learned to help make my family healthier. Not only that, I am a single mom of 3 kids on an extremely small income and I think I've also learned a lot on how to save money buying groceries. I really think once I start meal planning and following what you do, my grocery money will stretch further. I can't wait to try all your recipes I saved especially this bread! I have always wanted to make homemade bread but carpal tunnel prevents it. This should be easy for me! Thanks so much for sharing everything! You have a beautiful family and I love your daughter! She's so cute, beautiful and spunky. Great personality.
HPLovinMama6 Lorelai Cheyenne great post good luck to you & your family! The cheapest bread I can find around here, on sale, is about98 cents. This kind of bread when I make it comes out to about half that. From one bag of flour you can make several loaves! I think it is actually 10 but I always use the flour for other things, lol, so not sure, i need to work on my math. What I really like is I can’t even say half of the ingredients in some store bought breads, never heard of them before! I love the simple ingredients in this kind of bread. Some folks use an end of a wooden spoon to stir & mix it, say it is easier & works like a bread hook. Best of luck & have fun with it! Throw some brown sugar mixed with cinnamon and raisins before baking in it for a treat for the kids! 💕
@@sarahbehler5437 Thank you! The cheapest bread here is about a dollar and it's gross. Lol And you're right, fresh bread with only a couple ingredients, definitely worth it. I can't wait to try it out. That's a good idea with the wooden spoon! And the other ways to make it. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for this recipe! ❤️ Not only is it a fantastic recipe that yields delicious and crusty bread, but you’ve given us a simple solution for lack of a dutch oven. I’ve recently moved and many items are still in storage, my dutch oven included. Thank you for allowing me to indulge my craving for home baked bread without having to wait or spend a ton of money on an additional dutch oven.
Just made this today and it was such a hit! It is hot where I live so after 8 hours on the countertop, my dough was threatening to rise out of the bowl. I ended up baking it after the 8 hour rise instead of leaving it overnight. Very reminiscent of an artisan bread I used to buy at a local supermarket that no longer carries it. Now I can make it myself! Will be so delicious baked with garlic and rosemary. Thanks for the recipe!
Loaf pan as a lid! Makes so much sense. I used my loaf pans the last time I tried this recipe and was like well shoot, I don't have any lids. Thank you for taking the time for the extended recipe/explanation video. This bread is delicious and so easy to make!
Edit- stuff I was aware of, but usually no one ever took the time to explain simple tips and advice to make processes easier! I’m not completely daft😂🤣 You just do a great job of demonstrating and teaching than a written description or a scripted one!
My 16 yr old son and I Just made a loaf of the white bread- IT DIDNT LAST- WE ATE THE WHOLE LOAF 😂 THIS IS SO GOOD!!!! The hardest part about this - was the WAIT - BUT ITS WORTH THE WAIT I ASSURE YOU! We will now be BREAD MAKERS!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR THIS RECIPE!!!! I LOVE your channel and I love sharing!!!❤
I’ve made this the past 2 days! I’ve found 30min covered and no uncovered time is best where I live. It’s perfectly crusty and golden brown without being too hard to cut. I used the 2 leftover half loaves this morning for French toast. It was great! Thanks for sharing such a great and easy recipe
I can't even explain how good this bread is. And how effortless! It's everything. I can't. I can't. I've made it twice now, and the first time my husband and I literally ate most of the loaf the same day. It's too much power for one person. I don't even know the math on how much this costs per loaf to make, but this is like, an $8 loaf at the farmers market (Canadian). I can't. 🤌 Thank you Christine. 🙌🙌🙌
I just found you and have been binging your episodes all week and just made my first loaf of no knead bread the other day and it turned out perfect! Thank you!
I just pulled this out of the oven and it looks perfect! I’ve been a baker for many years (desserts) but I’ve never been successful at yeast breads. I’m So excited to feed it to my family for dinner. Thank you!!
I can't make a muffin or pie crust to save my life. My husband quietly laughs when I try because it's a disaster every time. Domed muffinsand chewy pie... not so good...
@@sarasorensen2650 I saw your answer as I’m reading through these replies and I couldn’t help but give you my mothers delicious piecrust to try and surprise your husband lol. One and a half cups of white flour, 3/4 teaspoon of salt, half a cup of shortening usually use Crisco, 4 tablespoons of icewater or a little bit more if it’s not wet enough, sift the flour and salt into a bowl, cut in the shortening with a pastry cutter until it is about the size of large peas add the ice water and stir with a fork until dill clings to the side of the bowl you always usually need more water until you get the right consistency not too wet though, divide the dough into two portions and Shape into a, ball roll pastry on to lightly flowered surface - happy baking
I'm so happy that i had the courage to make this bread because everyone in my household enjoyed it and it's a life saver especially with the inflation of prices nowadays, so happy i found your channel
I’ve been on a mission to make homemade bread and until now, I’ve been mostly failing. This recipe was the simplest I’ve tried and came out the best. This was excellent with soup. My 8 year old even said we have no reason to go to a restaurant if I can cook like this at home. Thanks for the great recipe and tutorial. I’ll be making this over and over again.
I have made a white one. And I loved it. Love how you tell people bread can he harder but it's TRUE when you get it you got it. I have a wheat that is absolutely amazing it does have a lot of steps I will be publishing that one on my TH-cam in about a month. God bless

I've been using your recipe for years and stopped for sometime. I pulled my yeast out of the freezer and whipped up a loaf that is proofing now. So excited, nothing better than homemade bread!!
Milwaukee, WI here, day two of social distancing. I decided “what the heck, I’ll make bread!” I’ve never made it before, in part because I’ve had no reason and in part because it seems so scary! Well, your video made it seem so easy so I gave it a try - and it totally worked! I made the white bread and it’s delicious! I used instant yeast so I only let it rise for eight hours - one is the reasons I loved your video is because I was able to compare my bread to yours, which is what helped me decide to bake it after only eight hours rather than the 24. Thank you so much for your tutorial - it was so helpful and I’m jazzed to be adding bread to my (small) repertoire!
I'm so glad I read your comment! I too bought Instant Yeast (not knowing) and at 8 hours I thought I was jumping the gun but ya it looks just like Christine's did. BTW My Son and Daughter-in-law live in Waupaca, Wi. I'm in Orlando, Fl.
Making this now and I added a bunch of seasoning (rosemary, thyme, basil, oregano) to make herb bread, and cinnamon with vanilla extract to make a dessert type bread, figured it might also taste good to add raisins to it as well to make it a no sugar breakfast bread!
@@ZivaSK it's was really good! Although the dessert bread was only so so. Would definitely only do the herbal bread. We really liked the herbal bread with tomato soup or as a garlic bread!
Hi Christine! FYI I have made this bread with half All purpose and half white whole wheat flour and did not need to add wheat gluten! It turned out perfectly crusty on the outside and crusty in the middle! Thank you for your videos!
Try using a parchment paper sling. Dump the dough onto the parchment paper, shape, rise and then just simply lift into your preheated pot/pan. Easy peasy
This is THE best bread ever! I've made several different kinds, with onion and cheese, with herbs, with garlic, with all sort of stuff and it comes out A-MA-ZING every time!
Thanks for posting this. I was telling my husband all the ways my fb friends have been telling me to cut my grocery budget, and home made bread was one of them. His face LIT UP when I told him I was going to start making bread. Haha
It's I'm the oven Christine! I have a cast iron pot and lid. I'm using parchment paper, so hopefully I won't burn the paper ('Fahrenheit 451' but it's really 480, thank goodness). Super sticky, but added more water as it was soooo dry. Nice and bubbly! Excited!
Thank you so much for showing us how to cut the round bread 🍞 I was struggling lol 😂 I just cut up my 2 loaves today and bagged them for the week! My bread 🥖 hasn’t been rising like I want it to but I think 🤔 you just hit the nail on the head when you were talking about the water 💦 temp! Mine has been too warm!
First time I made this bread and I did some things wrong (added twice as much yeast, forgot the salt but added in at the end of mixing, only let the dough rise for less than 3 hours!) I used my new cast iron 3.5 qt Dutch oven I got on Amazon (around $50). It turned out a little flatter than yours but the crust was really crispy and inside was moist and chewy with some nice air pockets. Didn’t taste too yeasty. Delicious! Just imagine when I do it right the next time!!! Love, love this recipe. Calms the quarantine blues.
Omg I am literally preheating the oven and my hopes for this dough to have worked we’re very slim hahaha cause I can’t follow recipes but I let it rest for a few hours and it doubled in size and I just have to bake it now. I’m very excited!!
Perfecto! Been struggling till recently with bread making. You explained my issue clearly...too warm of water. I place mine into a Tupperware container with lid in warm place and within a few hours the dough tripled. Wish YT let me share the pictures, bread came out perfect and everyone loved it.
I used to love making bread, and kind of got away from it, but have since made this bread 2 times in the last month. Love it! thanks for making this video :)
I made my first loaf this morning and I'm addicted. Letting my second batch sit rn to bake tomorrow morning and looking up stuff to mix in for variety. Thanks for the recipe!
Very informative, might try it as I love making home-made bread. Personally I struggle letting it cool as I love to eat it hot and smothered with butter! XD
I have never baked bread without a machine and the machine bread did not turn out well. I followed the white instructions and it was a ten. So cheap, cheerful, and delicious. Thank you!!
@@rjscrimo2627 Almond Flour Bread....just be sure to mix longer than you would wheat flour bread as your "bubbles" or rising comes from a very good/longer mixing process: 2 cup Blanched almond flour 1/4 cup Psyllium husk powder 1 tbsp Gluten-free baking powder 1/2 tsp Sea salt 4 large Egg (beaten) 1/4 cup Coconut oil (measured solid, then melted) 1/2 cup Warm water Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C). Line the bottom of a 9x5 in (23x13 cm) loaf pan with parchment paper. In a large bowl, stir together the almond flour, psyllium husk powder, baking powder, and sea salt. Stir in the eggs and melted coconut oil, then finally the warm water. Try to mix it well to create air bubbles. Transfer the batter to the lined baking pan. Smooth/press the top evenly with your hands, forming a rounded top. Bake for 55-70 minutes, until an inserted toothpick comes out clean and the top is very hard, like a bread crust. (Important: It will pass the toothpick test before it's completely done, so make sure the top is very crusty, too.) Cool completely before removing from the pan. Sweet! I will try to make some as well! Thank you for the head up!
Is the bread soft? Or more like Italian?
Jasmine Trujillo Hello Jasmine, you are very welcome.
Best regards Karen
Best bread recipe EVER. I literally did nothing and this bread is perfect. Unbelievable. Thank you for this video.
Hey, trying to get a feel for how often I should be making this, about how many slices would you say you get out of your loaves?
I asked my daughter about eating the bread as a sandwich...she says...”since it is more of an artisan bread, the crust is crunchier and I don’t like that in a sandwich.” Would you eat it as a sandwich, “Probably not”
The bread is still amazing.
Mine too!
Mine thr33!
One thing to mention - fresh ground whole wheat flour should be kept in refrigerator or freezer as it contains oil that will go rancid and destroy the B vitamins in it. Most store-bought whole wheat is already rancid. Good health food stores will have it in the refrigerator.
I would have never known. Thank you 😊
“Let it cool for 2 hours”. Ha! Good Luck not eating it immediately
Bread has GOT to cool. Otherwise the inside feels raw and doughy and just isn't bread-like and delicious. It's still cooking when its hot. I know it's hard to wait, but you knead (ha) to if you want it to be GOOD.
Hot bread with a little butter and cheese....ooooh, I never let my bread cool lol
@@o.m5091 hot bread with honey or peanut butter and honey mmmmmmm I can't let my bread sit til cool
@@keepingupwiththejoneses746 honey yes! Peanut butter no....lol I hate that stuff
@@o.m5091 Same! I have never liked peanut butter and have only a few that don't as well. Try almond butter, it's pretty easy to make and taste a lot better although I still prefer honey, but for a change-up it's good!
For the VERY first time in my life I was able to successfully make my family homemade bread- and they LOVED it!!! Thank you so much for this!
TH-cam recommended your channel to me last week and I've been binge-watching your videos ever since. I made your easy banana bread recipe today and it was AMAZING! I will definitely try this bread tomorrow. Thanks so much!
I made this bread today. I couldn't wait 24 hours and baked it after 10. It turned out great! I'll use this recipe often! Thanks!
I have over 10 pounds of flour and now I know what I’ll be doing w it!
Where is your cinnamon bun recipe? That would be good too!
Milk bread can be adapted to make cinnamon rolls and I highly suggest it because it’s my favorite sweet bread to make/eat
Best bread. Never made so many loaves in my life, everyone loves it and doesn't give me stomach issues like bread from the store does. Thank you!!!
I love it.
I love olive bread! Will try on my next loaf this week..thank you!
#riseandshine ❤️
Thank you Christine!!!!
Good to know because I don't have 8 to 24 hrs to let it rest today!
For those of you in Kentucky, I had to add a whole extra cup of water before it reached the desired consistency. This is a really good recipe!
Is Kentucky humid? Alabama is and I'm thinking maybe add less water?
Yes I just had to add a whole extra cup of water here in North Carolina
I’m going out to buy a some bread pans and all of these ingredients b/c you made it look so easy thank you
Disclaimer: I have never commented on a video before. This recipe made me.
I've made bread before, but this will be my new go to recipe. So easy, so good. I ate a quarter of a loaf as soon as it was cool enough.
I made the white bread just today and I can say… I’m so proud 🥰 thank you for sharing this so we can enjoy homemade bread
Amazing! I never thought I'd be learning how to "cook a bread"
😋
Made this for the first time today. I can’t believe how awesome it turned out! Husband loves it! And he loved the banana bread!!! Thank you tons!
Loaf pan as a lid! Makes so much sense. I used my loaf pans the last time I tried this recipe and was like well shoot, I don't have any lids. Thank you for taking the time for the extended recipe/explanation video. This bread is delicious and so easy to make!
You’re a really good teacher, thank you for being so explanatory and helpful! You’ve taught me a lot and I’ve only seen 2 videos so far!
Edit- stuff I was aware of, but usually no one ever took the time to explain simple tips and advice to make processes easier! I’m not completely daft😂🤣 You just do a great job of demonstrating and teaching than a written description or a scripted one!
Yes this!
I can't. 🤌
Thank you Christine. 🙌🙌🙌
I just found you and have been binging your episodes all week and just made my first loaf of no knead bread the other day and it turned out perfect! Thank you!
We're on the same wavelength. Same week over here. #momgoals
Oh my goodness! Thank you for showing how to cut the round loaf! I've never seen anyone do that before, and it's so helpful.
I just pulled this out of the oven and it looks perfect! I’ve been a baker for many years (desserts) but I’ve never been successful at yeast breads. I’m
So excited to feed it to my family for dinner.
I am watching your channel grow and I am so happy for you!!!
Thank you!
I make this bread all the time, love it! I use a little bit of oil on my hands rather than flour when shaping it, I find that it's easier for me.
Holly B. Ooo, great tip! I need that! I use flour and still get spiderwebbed gunked up fingers that I can’t get the dough off! Thank you 😊
@@sarahbehler5437 it still spider webs a bit, but wipes/washes right off. It's a million times easier!
I have made a white one. And I loved it. Love how you tell people bread can he harder but it's TRUE when you get it you got it. I have a wheat that is absolutely amazing it does have a lot of steps I will be publishing that one on my TH-cam in about a month. God bless
I’ve made this a couple times now and we’ve loved it!!! My husband wants me to try to make smaller loaves as soup bowl 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 I’m sure this recipe will work perfectly for that!!
What a lucky, blessed family you have !! I've watched soooo many of your videos & pass them along to friends !
Your non fear- mongering "be a good neighbor"prepping videos some of my fav content. 🤗
Ive been prepping for years but I'm glad that you give sound advice to newbies 👍
I've got some of this rising on my countertop as I type. It's so good!
I made this! I used a loaf pan. I thought during every step that I probably messed it up... and then it turned out GREAT! Really delicious bread!
I never wished for smell-o-vision more. I can’t wait to make this bread myself.
Oshkosh here!
I have never thought of simply covering my loaf pan with another. Worked better than foil!
I am so excited about this! I’ve been wanting to make my own bread for a while now! Thank you for your helpful videos christene! ❤️
Did it! This was my first time making homemade bread ever and I’m shocked at how easy and delicious it was. So thankful for this video!!
Making this now and I added a bunch of seasoning (rosemary, thyme, basil, oregano) to make herb bread, and cinnamon with vanilla extract to make a dessert type bread, figured it might also taste good to add raisins to it as well to make it a no sugar breakfast bread!
How did it turn out?
@@ZivaSK it's was really good! Although the dessert bread was only so so. Would definitely only do the herbal bread. We really liked the herbal bread with tomato soup or as a garlic bread!
Thanks for the recipe! My husband and I love it!

Hi Christine! FYI I have made this bread with half All purpose and half white whole wheat flour and did not need to add wheat gluten! It turned out perfectly crusty on the outside and crusty in the middle! Thank you for your videos!
Thanks so much for this recipe! Nailed it on my first try!! Also makes the house smell unbelievably good!!
I started this dough yesterday and will be baking it in just a few minutes I can't wait to try it! Thanks for the video
Yay! I have been making this bread since your other video. I do use whole wheat flour and it turns out great, very dense bread which we love!
I’ve been watching this video for weeks and finally attempted. PERFECTION. I Feel like a true baker
Try using a parchment paper sling. Dump the dough onto the parchment paper, shape, rise and then just simply lift into your preheated pot/pan. Easy peasy
Great idea!
Yeah but I think the whole point of this video is that you don't need all the things. Some of us don't have & can't afford parchment paper.
@@hahna77 Parchment paper can actually be purchased at Dollar Tree stores in my area. Not too expensive if you can find some there. 😊 #homecooking
Thank you for this comment! I don’t have corn meal so I was reading through comments for other suggestions.
The dollar tree store has parchment paper for a $1 if you have one in your area. I've been using it a lot lately for cookies.
Mine has been too warm!
same here. my water was too hot. Made it again today and it rose beautifully. have it in the oven now and it looks amazing.
I’m very excited!!
miguelnation87 how did it turn out?? ♥️
Just tried making the white bread came out great. My husband could not believe how good the house smelled 😊 thank you
Hey, it turned blue!
Perfecto! Been struggling till recently with bread making. You explained my issue clearly...too warm of water. I place mine into a Tupperware container with lid in warm place and within a few hours the dough tripled. Wish YT let me share the pictures, bread came out perfect and everyone loved it.

RJ Scrimo almond flour won’t work.... no gluten
@@karenm7433 ah bummer! Thanks for letting me know!
@@rjscrimo2627 Almond Flour Bread....just be sure to mix longer than you would wheat flour bread as your "bubbles" or rising comes from a very good/longer mixing process:
2 cup Blanched almond flour
1/4 cup Psyllium husk powder
1 tbsp Gluten-free baking powder
1/2 tsp Sea salt
4 large Egg (beaten)
1/4 cup Coconut oil (measured solid, then melted)
1/2 cup Warm water
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C).
(I've made many almond breads, I've had success with most. This particular recipe is from wholesomeyum.com).
Thanks Laura Willoughby! I'll have to try that :)
