This guy should have made it all the way to the top..I remember this song from the 80's.
I remember this song vividly! Brilliant song! He was in the same vein as Billy Idol.
Saw him playing in Jimmy Barnes band in Australia, I don't think I looked at Jimmy all night. Couldn't take my eyes of Charlie, so mesmerising to watch and very easy on the eyes
This song reached #17 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1986 when he was age 17.
he is not a one hit wonder, well respected in the music industry .
Feedback?
Plays for Dylan, that’s enough!
@@JoeyLevenson Huge Bob fan. Bob loves him and yes, that's enough!
Yup, great blues guitarist.
Well, he still had only one hit himself. And that my friend is a "One Hit Wonder!"
I just want to know how I managed to forget about this song, and this album, and Charlie in general.
I know he never got big, but this was definitely a favorite song of mine back then, and I only rediscovered it a couple months ago
I'm a 1971 chick and remember my teen years consumed by you....listening tonight and I'm still loving you...my 4 kids are hiding but I will make their ears bleed with my youth!! You are amazing and I hope you're life has treated you well :o)
I listening Charlie Sexton since he was 16 years old when his first Album with HOLD ME.... a great success..... I never stop listening his songs, and watch his videos...
I think if INXS and Depeche Mode had a baby you'd have Charlie Sexton.
And, yes, that's a good thing.
Through in a lil Adam Ant
I'm 23 and this is one of my favorite song!!!!!
GREAT !!!!!!!!
Boom!! Great Tune
Finally! I fell in love with this song in "Some Kind of Wonderful " but never knew who it was. My daughter, who now has children a couple of years from my age when I first heard it, was looking for a song from one of the John Hughes' movies.
After rattling off the obvious ones that weren't the one she was looking for, I went on a deeper dive and finally found this gem!! Oh, this song gives me all the feels!
All my Gen X friends, we were so lucky to grow up in a time where the evolution of music was so exciting. John Hughes knew how to elicit teen angst with a perfect soundtrack every time! Priceless memories here! 💖
Some kind of wonderful movie was John Hughs classic. It was like yesterday that I was watching it. I still have the record album Charlie sexton's pictures for pleasure ' after all these years or decades should I say..
Amen...my band played this song Live in 1986...💯
AMEN 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I think it's safe to say that this party is about to become an historical fact.
He also had one of his songs on the Lost Boys soundtrack. Cry Little Sister. I still have my vinyl I bought when it 1st came out😉💕🔥
Charlie Sexton...one of the most talented and stunning musicians ever been on earth!!
This needs to be a hit again! it's timeless
,,,, yep !
Reached #23 this week, March 2-8, in 1986. 35 years ago.
I remember seeing him in the 80's as a teen and was IN LOVE with his music and style. He is still as talented as ever and still easy on the eyes.
I haven't heard this song in 30 years since I last heard it in a bar in Orlando, Florida in 1994. It really takes me back to 1986. A lost hit from the 80's but not to those who appreciate great music.
I was born in 68,loved this track growing up,cool black &white clip as well.thanks for posting.
March '68 here.
He digs OK,,, I'm class of 89, Alamo Heights TX, this is what we jammed,,, when he joins Arc Angels,, he fuckin rocks..." Living in a dream " is The Jam.... Who agrees?
Coming from the 80's as a kid.. my older brother and cousins all agree.. this was the greatest song EVER.. I do agree after hearing it after so long.. The meaning is such a part of every single human being out there.. Being at the TOP is what we all crave for... thank you Charlie Sexton!

Listening in 2022
He was the first pick to play Eric Draven in the original Crow movie. James O Barr said that he fit the description of Eric in the comic perfectly.
Tens across the board for this legendary song and performance. Charlie Sexton is an 80’s icon with that perfect hair and his skinny rockstar physique. To. Die. For. ✨🤘🏼😎✨
I always thought growing up that I was the one who ever heard his name and music 😅🤣 nobody ive ever talked to knows who he is 😮💨😭 so underrated for his talent
Loved Charlie then and still LOVE him now. 💕 ❤️ 💕.
I was lucky enough to witness him during this tour ❣️ Intelligent, beautiful, fascinating art and artist !
I’m 49 and this is one of my favorite songs of all times! He was SIXTEEN when he put this song out! Are you kidding me? Who is this talented at 16? I really wish he would have continued further into his music career! Love the song, Impressed also! He was and still is one talented musician! Also HOT!!!
I'll be 50 in March. Forgot about this until today.
Where the hell was I when this came out?!!!! First time hearing Sexton and I gotta say... so good. So good. The vocals and guitar, wow. Granted I was 10 back in 87’.
Amazing talent...so far ahead of his time and still going strong...should have been a world wide sensation because he has it all ❤️
2021 would really suck without this. Still rocks me. I'm 66. Yeah...
This song still rocks after all these years and the vocal is awesome.
2022
2023 👏👏👏
Still watching ,and he’s a lovely looking man, xox
I miss the 80"s ❤ music was magical
Charlie’s uncle was a chief on my first submarine - USS Blueback SS-581. I remember him being so proud when this song came out!
Dude was 17 yet sounded 30+.
Incredible
It was probably because of all the cigarettes.
Have only found this video after listening and loving this song for years and years, should be a classic at least from my point of view.
Always loved Charlie and this song. Thought is was going to be way bigger that it was when I was a kid in the 80's.
Perfect crystallization of this particular moment in pop music at it's most totally awesome.
Confirmed he was 16 years old when he cut this song. Not only did he have that talent, but look at the smoking! Can you imagine today a smoker in a music video; let alone one under age? Rock on, Charlie!!! I was a smoker when I played a cop on TV. F the PC crowd!
and Texas(where he grew up) was one of the few states at the time where you had to be 21 to buy cigarettes.
Saw Charlie last night playing with Elvis Costello. I can say with confidence that he was the best thing about Elivis' set.
Brilliant musician, beyond talented. Bought the cassette two days after it came out and wore it out, had to buy another one. One of the albums in the soundrack of my life.
Some Kind of Wonderful: VERY underrated film.
I like the vocals in this song. Charlie sounds a bit like David Bowie...& looks more like a British punk rocker than a guy from Texas.
Bowie/Idol mix!
YeeeHaaaaa
Looks like John Taylor and Matt Dillon
@@johnyang1420 Two of my 80’s crushes.
@@dmotta2811 Matt Dillon from Something About Mary. Ben Stiller: How much does Mary weigh now? Matt: Deuce....Deuce and a a half. Billy Idol isn't bad either!!!!
Never ages. Its the opening riff that got me in the first time.
thank you C.Sexton.. maybe the best SONG EVER written... thanks bro
Eric Sullivan I totally agree! I still listen to it all the time! I remember I had his “record” on “vinyl” the good ole days lol

Some kinda wonderful movie brought me here💖
He is a genius! ! I went to his concert and it was shocking because the visuals were so cool as well as the sound. His looks are as beautiful as a sculpture, and God has given him all his talents. i love him still active💖💖💖
Angels Sing brought me here...if you haven't seen it please do!! Great movie with lots of Texas talent
Still love him to this day. 😍 That voice is AMAZING. Nice facial bone structure as well. HAWT...
One of the greatest musicians you’ve never heard of!
Haven't heard this since....1986. wtf did the time go ?!. I'm still rocking it 👍✝️💜🎣🏹🛶🇺🇲
This is truly amazing. And a period video to go with it. Wow. 🙏🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
