Popping in to say I made this for dinner tonight. The only thing I changed was that I added an egg to the ricotta mixture, as per suggested by a lady that helped me find the ricotta in the grocery store. It thins out the mixture if it’s too thick to spread, but it also helps bind it together. My family loved it! They didn’t even speak for the first helping, they were too busy eating! I served it with caesar salad and garlic bread. The only regret I have is that I should have made more so I could have leftovers! Seriously, this is such an easy and relatively cheap recipe, and it will remain my staple lasagna recipe for years to come! Thank you so much for this!
@@darrenknudson8641 why assume middle school? I liked how she said that too but I'm in 2nd year uni. Well I guess his/her username might be a bit cringe.
My recipe is quite different. I use half Italian sausage, half beef. Also to the ricotta mixture I add two eggs and spinach...a frozen block thawed and squeezed. Love the thick mozz topping in this recipe. Definitely going to try that. Another excellent Delish video. 👍
Its 1 am, I'm watching friends Monica makes lasagnas. I look up lasagna tutorials, on my third video now. Its official making lasagna in the morning #pregnantlife
Looks delicious!! Whenever i make lasagna, I use tomato sauce, cottage cheese and shredded mozzarella cheese. And whenever I bake it, I do that for 20 minutes with foil over it, and another 10 without it. Simple as that!
Old video so not sure you read older comments but fun fact about Rao's. The reason it's so exclusive is since it's opening in 1896 it's only ever had like 13 tables. But also back then family owned restaurants would always give priority to regulars. So what happened was regulars were able to literally pass down their table reservations to their great grandchildren. So a lot of the people who eat at Rao's have reservations that have been in their family for generations. HOWEVER!!!! if you want to eat Rao's there is only 1 other location. One here in Las Vegas with more seating lol and imo it's definitely worth a try.
Second time making lasagna !!! Bad experience making the first one !!! If you are me that is learning how to cook ... I made it today and it was the best lasagna and so easy !!! Thank you ! Thank you !!🙏🙏🤤🤤🤤🤤😀💕
Made this for the first time. The layers came out good but i did four strips in between instead of 3. I do think the meat on the bottom is a plus. The highlight of the dish was actually the ricotta mixture. I love how all the ingredients came together. I personally didnt put enough meat sauce on the top so my edges got crispy so i do think people should add drizzles of olive oil on the edges and monitor the oven to avoid this issue
I made this dish last week, April 2nd, 2022, the hole family absolutely loved it. The kids asked me this morning to make it. April 6, 2022: covina, Ca Thank you so much for this easy recipe. Have a blessed afternoon. 5:00 pm
You said “it’s a messy job.” It sure is! I just tried to make it for my second time. I boiled the noodles until they were soft and done. Big Big mistake apparently, but if I just bake it for less time it will turn out perfect 👌 I know who my God is, so hopefully He helps like He always does. Can’t wait to try it! Thanks to you, I now know what to do with my noodles. I appreciate you, ma’am!! Yours looks delish, btw! 🧡💛
I am a 24 year old guy and never really cooked before a group of people... Trying this recipe out because I invited my friends for my birthday. Wish me luck
I've never had any issues with soft noodles if I just trim a min or two off the cook times, then run cold water over than to keep them from glomming onto each other, I also double layer them by overlapping.
Thanks for the tip on not overcooking the pasta. Previous lasagnas I’ve made have come out all right, but a bit sloppy. I’m pretty sure I was overcooking the pasta. I took your advice and left it extra al dente and it came out much less sloppy.
This looks pretty good. The only thing I would do differently is put shredded mozzarella on top and broil for 2-3 minutes so it gets that nice golden brown crisp on top😋 and I’m glad there were no eggs in the ricotta; my mom puts eggs and I’m not a fan 🤢
Iris Clark they’re used as I hinder to hold the ricotta mixture together. However I don’t like eggs so I avoid them when I can. And it in my experience making lasagna they’re not necessary.
I make lasagna once a month. I add spinach to the ricotta and also eggs to bind it together. Other than that, we have the same technique. Also, i set it to broil for 5 mins so the top mozz can be a little more golden brown.
@@MsMystie3K The bigger the plate the bigger the portion. I like big plates do I don't have to go for seconds. A plate that size no room everything falls on whatever when your eating.

Now i see why other recipes had eggs
Ok I’ll do it then! I’m adding an egg to my cottage cheese (I use instead of ricotta). Hope this turns out yummy 😋 thanks for the tip!!
Dang shoulda read this before I popped this thing in the oven 😭😭😭
The recipe does say to add one large egg to the ricotta cheese mix
@@sharongarner3652 yeah it does, but not in the video. Strange

She loved it! But bad news, I have to make dinner every 7 days...

I made lasagna for the first time. I used your methods in this video. Came out perfect!!! Thank you so much!
I love that she called the noodles “noods” and also said “mozz” and “parm”.

Plus she's cute.
2 years later, and I again made this delicious lasagne!!
I've done this lasagna with this recipe several times now, and I love it! With the ready oven noodles is even more easy! Thanks!!!
You are such a natural presenter and make everything so simple. Nice work 👍

Tosh T Nice! that's how I make mine but always with fresh garlic..Going to try fresh rosemary and wine today,!
My recipe is almost identical to yours, I add onion to the meat when I'm cooking it. After my mom tried mine she stopped making hers.
Tosh T- I add eggs & spinach to my white mixture as well. However, I am nontraditional, I don't like ricotta, so I use cottage cheese.
Mykah Turner that’s just as good!!
Take it from a Wisconsin native (America's dairy state) use part cottage cheese and part ricotta
Made this Twice and it's delicious! The only difference is I use shredded mozzarella not the whole slice
Same
Try using BOTH and thank me later..
@@CONald_is_A_false_Prophet ~ That sounds better. I'd probably put the shredded mozzarella on the top, but the slices in between the layers...
Me to i did the same
I’ve got smoked mozzarella that I’m topping mine with.
I have made my own with your recipe, waouuu its come out so goodddd
Best recipe ever !! Thanks to her I’m the ⭐️ make it and you wont regret it . Thankssssss 😘😘
Looks delicious but I like the cheese on top to be brown and bubbly!
Angela Losole you can put in broil for couple min should do the trick, I like it like that too lol
... then brown it... ugh
@@revanjg why are you offended?...
@@TheWizard101bestfan exactly me too, but with the mozzarella on top there’s no chance! Better is grated cheddar cheese!
