Nice resto. I have a feeling this will get the scoutcrafter stamp of approval.
It's got a little red on it....
I saw this comment and thought there must some red paint in the future.
Really nice restoration. Your muscle power to straighten the handle reminds me of what my father referred to in cars with manual steering. He said they had "Armstrong power steering." Your wrench looks great.
If you notice what looks like a letter C around the IH. It actually was for the word Company. They eventually went with just the IH logo.
I shared a slide of the evolution of their logo at 12:23
You sir, are a magician! Beautiful work and end product. My Dad always said, if a Farmall has gas in the tank and the battery turns, she'll start and run forever.
Thanks James! It was a fun project!
I still have my grandpa’s 1939 Farmalll F-20, that he bought used during WWII.
That's great!
Looks amazing. Magdad magic! I definitely have one of those wrist bands. Several years ago, the office clown would tell me that I wouldn’t get shocked if I didn’t wear silk underwear. Justice was seeing him get zapped. 🤣Thanks!
🤣⚡
That auto wrench is so good looking, you need an International Harvester tractor to go with it! Nice work!
Thanks Larry! A tractor would be fun!
Nice job of cleaning and polishing, the addition of the paint really made the wrench pop, good color choice. Thanks for the video, enjoyed watching.
Thanks Terry! I thought it needed a little International Harvester red!
Well done Mate!! Who needs a Dake eh!! The sound effects straightening the handle cracked me up, reminded me of a Roadking video!!☻
Thanks RoadKing! I guess I was being a little "theatrical"!😁
That went from a wrench you wouldn’t look twice at to a wrench you can’t take your eyes off of!! Wow! 😃👍
If you ever find yourself short of cash, you could make a few $$$ hiring out the Dake.
😄
Thanks ScoutCrafter! It was fun taking it "over the top"!
Holy sh!t magdad!!! You really achieved over the top! The wrench is absolutely beautiful. Raymond Loewy the industrial designer of the era would certainly be proud!!!
Thanks! He was the guy who styled the Studebakers, right?
@@357magdad Im not sure about Studebakers but he was commissioned the task by IH in the late thirties to come up with the design for the letter series Farmall tractors among many other things.
I liked this restoration so much I'm gonna buy that same wrench somewhere lol. I loved the red accents, nice subtle touch sir.
Thanks! I'm glad you like it!
That turned out much much nicer than I thought it would. The extra effort you put into removing all the forging marks really make that wrench look great. Excellent work. Cheers
Thanks Joe! It was a fun project!
You took that one over the top...good choice to restore a piece of blue collar down home Americana...🖖
It's fun to go "over the top" once in a while!
You did a fantastic job on that wrench. You make everything look so easy. Thank You for sharing. Nicely done Magdad!
Thanks Jack! It was a fun project!
You made the wrench look better then most internationals. As my dad said a hundred dollar saddle on a ten dollar horse. Great job.
Thanks! It was a fun project!
Excellently done.
Thanks David!
Nice job 👍 Magdad. You're Right Over the Top.
Thanks Wayne!
The wrench came out awesome, love the paint accents. Thanks for sharing and have a great week!
Thanks! It was a fun project!
Fantastic restoration Magdad!!! Looks awesome 🔥🔥🔥👍🏼😃
Thanks David!
Wow… she’s shiny. Over the top with this one magdad. Nice job!
It was a fun project!
The old wrench looks awesome Magdad! Very nice!
Thanks Ivan!
Very nice! I have a soft spot for IH. My dad worked at a dealership from 1938-1942 when he and hundreds of other IH employees signed up for WWII. We had two IH “H” tractors growing up. Brings back wonderful memories of my father and our IH equipment.
Thanks Richard! I'm glad my video brought back some good memories!
Wow, over the top for sure! Beautiful restoration. I use the anti-static wrist thingy for my sandblasting cabinet and my thickness planer. On real dry days they shock me as bad as the belt sander! Picked that tip up from you way back when you first showed us. Thanks!
I'm glad the anti-static band is working for you!
You turned that tractor wrench into a HOTROD wrench! 😀👍😀😎
It was fun taking it "over the top"!
Amazing restoration - obviously it was never intended to look THAT good, but it came out beautifully!
Thanks Chris! It was fun taking it "over the top"!
Very good job on the restoration. Certainly "over the top" as you said. I love the facets on the upper jaw. Looks so good now. Nice touch with the paint, adds a bit of bling.
Dave.
Keeping those facets straight was a good challenge!
Cool old wrench nicely done 😊
Thanks Larry!
Excellent tutorial on restoring a tool. Thanks
Thanks Tony! It was fun taking this one "over the top"!
Outstanding work Magdad! The wrench looks great and I like the red and white accents. Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks John!
Very well done! Awesome restoration!
Thanks Steve!
WOW Magdad, you did it again ! What a transformation, but I notice you put the adjusting ring on the opposite way to what it was originally ! You must be so proud of your restorations - they are sensational. Happy Christmas to you and Mrs Magdad, from Michael, in England - thanks for sharig your skills. Take care 🙂
Thanks Michael! I think the adjust nut fits better with the ribs toward the handle.
Magdad muscle to the rescue🤠👍 I like the overall the top look, nice job!
Gives you an idea how much someone had to be pullin' on it to bend it in the first place!
Now 'yer jest showin' off! That's real purdy! Good job, fer sure.
Thanks Larry! It was fun making the wrench shine!
Great video and a fantastic job it now looks brand new thanks for sharing your time and skill 🍺🍺👍👍
Thanks! It was a fun project!
Great job, Magdad! Looking forward to seeing some of those screwdrivers redone
Thanks!
Wow, what an amazing transformation Magdad, I would never have guessed that could have come out looking so good ! You certainly removed a lot of material there, I don't suppose you thought to weigh it before and after, would have been interesting to note !
I loved the sound effects straightening the wrench, obviously just the right amount of grunt ! 😉
Thanks Andy! I did not think to weigh it. I may have gotten theatrical with the grunting...
Thanks for the anti shock strap tip. I will definitely be ordering that. That wrench turned out awesome definitely a wall hanger.
Thanks Terry! When the air gets dry in the winter in my basement shop, I start getting zapped!
Holy cow, that thing just pops now! You have a special touch for this kind of restoration.
Thanks! It was a fun project!
That’s a quality restoration. I recently also used the tubular persuader tool on a vice handle. Works every time.
Thanks! I bet it got bent about the same way as I un-bent it!
Very nice looking wrench! I did notice that the adjusting nut is upside down from the way you got it. It doesn't affect anything but I just noticed it
I think it looks better with the ribs down, but either way works.
You put a lot of work in this one 👍‼️
It was a fun project!
Beautiful. It is truly a presentation piece now. Best, Bill.
Thanks Bill!
WOW...fantastic job on this !!!
Thanks!
Looks Amazing! The red really makes it pop. 👍
Thanks Robert!
A really enjoyable video, you did a brilliant job, thank you 🇬🇧👍
Thanks Frankie!
Your monkey wrench turned out awesome look incredible awesome job THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO
Thanks Joe!
DUDEZILLA!! You soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo need a press from DA HARBOR! Trying to straighten a wrench with your vise, a cheater bar and powered by YOU is SOOOOOOOOO 19th century man!!!
I got no room for a press, so I gotta do it with Magdad Muscle! 💪
Like I tell the guys at work, 'We are NOT 18 anymore!" @@357magdad
This must be one of my favorites you've done! I only wish one of my IHC wrenches looked anything like that. Very well done one the straightening too. I always strugle with that. All my IHC wrenches are rusty and my granddad had an IH farm... My uncle claims he has a full tool set of one of my great grandfathers catapillar IHC tractor somewhere still..
Thanks Alex! You're gonna have to get your uncle to show you that full tool set!
Very NICE Magdad!
Thanks!
Well done!
Thanks Mike!
That wrench turned out nice enough to use in an operating theatre. 😆
I’m happy for you that the handle didn’t fracture whilst straightening. If it was me, it would have snapped.
Great job mate. Nice to see an “over the top” restoration for a change. They’re fun.
Thanks Shedman! It was a fun project!
First off Congratulations on your Charity Auction 357magdad ... The IH monkey wrench came out great nice collectable type of wrench as for the numbers stamped on the wrench Who knows what type of model tractor that monkey wrench would be on Take care enjoy your Sunday always looking for your next sundays video
Thanks Roger!
Amazing restoration! It looks better than new!
Thanks Frank!
Sharp resto-mod Magdad
Thanks John!
Looks great. Turned really nice. Good job.
Thanks Wire!
Nice video. Thank you.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent work as always. A pleasure to watch.
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
M.D. That wrench turned out beautiful.. Far nicer than it would have been new..
As I was watching this, Ben came to mind and I realized I haven't heard anything about him in a long time.. Is he ok? If you talk to him, tell him some of us are thinking about him.. M.D. you take care and we'll see you on the next video...God Bless...
Thanks Gary! Ben is still active on Instagram, so I think he's alright.
@@357magdad That's good, glad to hear he's doing ok....
Doesn't get any better than that...........Now tell Chuck to get off his Tail Feathers and Flitz that poor Combination Square.
That combination square is one of the few tools I have that was my dad's. It's an old Craftsman.
Well done MagDad sound effects!
I was being a little dramatic...
You obviously made it better than new. Looks great. I was interested to see that you went right from 80 and 120 grit to conditioning belts. I suppose it depends on how hard the metal is. Oh, and I enjoyed Nat Keefe and the Bow Tie Boys. Great stuff. Always enjoy and learn from your videos.
Thanks Kim! I usually start with the 120 belt and move to the conditioning belts. I had to use the more aggressive 80 grit to get under the forging lines and pitting.
@357magdad I recently did that with an old tack hammer head. However, I had a hard time removing the scratches left by the sanding belts. I think the metal was just too soft and the aggressive belts scratched too deeply. I'm learning though.
Wow that came out nice and what a cool wrench!
Thanks!
Very nice restoration there Magdad 👌
Thanks Gordon!
Really nice indeed!
Thanks!
Absolutely fantastic!
Thanks Daniel!
I do it different. I sand blast and then wire wheel. Works good enough for me.
This wrench was in pretty good shape. All it really needed was a clean up. I went a little nuts on it....
What a beauty! Great video! Sorry I missed out on this years auction…had covid in the house and it just got by me..will try and do better next time!
I hope you are feeling better John!
excellent, really like those faceless how to video....thanks!
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Wow! That is Gorgeous! Your Over the Top mission has been accomplished!
#flitzit
Thanks!
What a finish
Thanks David!
Fantastic job keep up the good work
Thanks Patrick!
That's not "1E". The wrench belonged to Izzy Egberg. ;-)
Great job!
Thank you!
Looks good
However totally unsolicited…
I think I would have finished it with cold blue👍👍

Beautiful!
Thanks!
Wow, just wow!
It was fun making in shiny!
Nice restoration 👏👏
Thanks!
I never get shocked from mine. I can’t feel my hands so I might just not be feeling it.
I only get zapped in the winter when the air is dry.
Que linda quedó.
Thanks!
Beautiful restoration. I was curious if you ever gave some thought to nickel plating some tools? I’ve seen the process done on other videos and it doesn’t appear too difficult or expensive. Just a thought….
Thanks! I'm not a fan of nickel plate.
Wow!
nice job
Thank you Marc!
Very nice
Thank you!
i got a bunch of old wrenchs and about five ford tools ihave stayed silant just watching and l
Very nice job! What do you put on the shiny parts to keep them from rusting? Do you lubricate the threads?
I like the white on the raised letters. I got a gold paint pen at WalMart to highlight some letters on a post drill press.
Thanks for watching! I gave it a couple coats of wax.
Assume job. Makes want to do wrench I have in the garage.
Give it a go!
Beautiful job on this wrench’s I’ve never seen one like it and it reminded me of something SC would like. Speaking of SC, I had a TH-cam buddy make something for him and I’d like to get it sent his way but when I emailed him at his aol address I’ve not heard back. It’s a Xmas gift so I’d like to get it mailed asap. I just don’t know where to mail it. Any chance you could help with that?
