I love and enjoy watching your horror physical media content. Brides of Dracula is one of my favorite Hammer Horror films of all time and Peter Cushing is my favorite Van Helsing.
Are you kidding, Reptilicus is awesome - absolutely amazing release with the Danish version available for the first time! A long time fave cheesy monster flick.
I just can't get into VS. I've been tricked far too many times by the artwork, which many times has nothing to do with the actual film. I care more about the movie than the packaging.
To be fair to them, most of these movies likely had misleading posters when they originally released as well. That was a common tactic with low budget movies.
I mean that's a pretty common tactic for horror movies since their inception. Vinegar Syndrome puts out tons of low budget stuff. Anyone who knows what they are about are usually clued into the fact that their catalog isn't bursting with blockbusters. 😂
I also love owning the media physically; if the apocalypse hits, I'll wire my home for Solar power and invite trusted friends for fowl dinners and movie nights.
I am also obsessed with VS and I also signed up for the entire 2023 subscriber package, but sadly regrated it because there were too many titles, I wasn't a fan of and would not have boughten on their own. Now I still buy a ton of VS releases and probably own over 150 titles from them and the partner labels they team up with.
Cthulhu Mansion is a fun time and it’s packed to the brim with neat practical effects. If you like early Full Moon features like Cellar Dweller or Dolls, you’ll be into it.
Welcome to the rabbit trails that are VS as a subscriber! I took the bait about a year and a half ago in their 2023 mid-year sale and haven’t regretted it. But I can say I love what they do and are doing as much my fav boutique label. Nice pick ups and enjoy! And yeah- Shallow Grave was pretty enjoyable 😉👍
There's an early Danny Boyle movie from 1994 called "Shallow Grave". It stars Ewan McGregor and is about three friends who discover their roommate dead next to a huge amount of money. What should they do? Craziness and very bad decisions ensue. It is 5 star awesome! Could the good reviews you saw be talking about this movie?
I’ve heard that movie is great! But no, I was talking about comments in a Facebook group of Vinegar Syndrome collectors who were speaking specifically about that release.
I am doing some reorganizing and labelling for some of the movies on my watchlists: x I am moving the movie Southern Comfort to December 22nd (the release date of Hostiles) and am going to watch Southern Comfort (1st) then watch Hostiles (2nd)...will call it Hostiles Double Feature). x On August 2nd, the release date of Phenomena, I am going to watch Buried Alive (1990- First) then Phenomena (2nd) and will call it Remote Viewing Double Feature. x On July 26th (Stanley Kubrick's birthday) , when I watch Dumber and Dumber (1st), Motel Hell (2nd), and The Shining (3rd), I am going to call it Stanley Hotel Movie Marathon.
I'm a huge VS fan! I have been ordering from them since 2019. I'm not a subscriber, but I pick up a lot during sales. I am waiting on my subscriber week order, I ordered 9 titles. I just watched Memorial Valley Massacre and its hilarious. 80's horror camp! My favorite VS release has been Beastmaster. Enjoying the channel!
I picked up Memorial Day Massacre because it has Cameron Mitchell in it. He’s one of the best B movie stars of the 80s. I also picked up Night Train To terror, which is anthology movie from the 80s. Also with Cameron Mitchell
My Vyn Syn Subscriber Week sale stuff arrived today… Ebola Syndrome, Effects, Six String Samurai, Villains, Deadly Games - Dial Code.Santa Claus, APE and Horror High/Stanley. With the exception of Horror High these are all blind buys. (Although I did research them.) Anyone have thoughts on these?
I bought 40 movies from Vinegar Syndrome Subscriber Week Summer Sale from the beginning of this month. Hoping they ship out my box soon. I might need a forklift to get the box picked up though lol.
Steel and Lace is great! The writing and acting is of a much higher quality than people would expect from a VS release (I say that with love lol). It's written by one of my favorite writers, Emmy-winner Joseph Dougherty, and the cast is excellent - Bruce Davison. David Naughton, Michael Cerveris, Stacy Haiduk & David Lander. The practical effects are cool too. It's a good one.
I don’t know yet, it’ll be announced on August 1st. They said it’s British, and has never been on Blu-ray before. Let me know if you have any ideas on what it could be. lol
@@cobwebschannel awesome! Love your channel by the way! Never before been on blu ray makes it tough. I would say Madhouse, but I know that has a small release lol
Could be the cult classic British horror comedy Bloodbath At The House Of Death, or maybe Confessions Of An Opium Eater(this could be a US film though). I don't believe that these two Price films have ever had a Blu Ray release. I've been waiting for them on Blu for years.
Just checked and "Confessions" is a US film, so it maybe a release of Bloodbath At The House of Death. I can't think of another British Price film that hasn't had a Blu Ray release, but he did act in a tonne of films so.......lol.
I'm really waffling on whether or not to subscribe, but I'm leaning towards doing it just for the monthly fun of having a grab bag of randomness. It sounds like a lot of fun to just pop something in the player with no idea of what to expect.
It was very fun, and made Blu-ray collecting very stress free for the rest of the year. I’m not going to pony up for the whole year, but I’ll probably do the half year again in July.
Hey man, Shallow Grave is awesome, it's got Death Proof vibes and a wicked 70s grindhouse aesthetic. Girl School Screamers is good to, troma must have acquired it because it's not their usual fayre. Cthulu Mansion is fun 😁 in my opinion you made some great choices from the VS catalogue Enjoy
For sure. Death Promise, Silent Madness, and Vacation of Terror all spring to mind. But I don’t get much remorse, because their stuff is very easy to resell.
I like Vinegar Syndrome, but I just can't bite on a sub, as many of their main line releases aren't for me. Now Ironically, I picked up Intrepridos Punks and Chinese Torture Chamber so I kind of contradict myself here. It also just goes to show different tastes, as Punks is the one I am looking forward to most.
Totally understandable! It’s a big and weird commitment. haha My buddy Cris just told me he’s interested in the Punks release, so we’ll watch those together, and I’m sure that’ll make them fun!
Daniel.how about your top 10 films with the titans of terror peter cushing and Christopher lee .I believe they did 24 together .love your chanel the best of its kind
VS was great years ago but the last couple years its mostly been garbage. I would never recommend subscribing to VS now. Better to wait for their sales
This has been the worst year to be a subscriber. They have put out 3 or 4 titles worth having this year. I remember in the first years of VS when they put out mostly exploitation, horror and of course the po-no. Now it just bottom of the barrel action movies and terrible, forgettable horror movies and mediocre Asian flicks. Also all these new fans came out of nowhere when they started putting out mainstream titles like Roadhouse and Showgirls. For me 2016-2019 was the best Vinegar Syndrome had to offer.
x I don't know how Vinegar Syndrome decided its name, but apparently some early Halloween Candy was vinegar candy. x Awesome Vinegar Syndrome haul, that movie Eight Eyes and Shallow Grave sound the most intriguing to me! x I am going to watch The Vault of Terror and Kindred tonight!
Here’s an explanation from the Internet: "Vinegar syndrome, also known as acetate film base degradation, is a condition that causes film to smell like vinegar and deteriorate over time. The smell is caused by acetic acid, which is released when acetyl groups break from their molecular bonds in the film's cellulose acetate base due to exposure to heat, moisture, or acids. The acid initially diffuses within the plastic, but eventually reaches the surface, creating a distinct vinegar odor.”
whats the point of paying big money when most of there releases are god awful movies yes they might be stacked with extras but again whats the point if the films are terrible ? your basically paying for a nice slipcover and extras : )
It comes down to personal taste, and I enjoy most of the movies I get from them. I wouldn’t buy from them if I hated most of the films, I’m not that into packaging.
@@fritzthecat8158 makes sense im just not into the ultra low budget stuff so the label just isnt for me but i get you can swap or flip them for good money : )

Lovecraft, describing the monster: "Bro, this monster is hella undescribable."

Reptilicus is silly, but it really illustrates the great array of monsters all over the place!
I like the box art
Hi Daniel! Vinegar Syndrome stuff is a guilty pleasure. Really enjoyed your unboxing!
Hey, thank you!
I love and enjoy watching your horror physical media content. Brides of Dracula is one of my favorite Hammer Horror films of all time and Peter Cushing is my favorite Van Helsing.
Shallow Grace is an underrated gritty as hell movie.
It is really intense and the way these girls get killed is kind of shocking.

I just can't get into VS. I've been tricked far too many times by the artwork, which many times has nothing to do with the actual film. I care more about the movie than the packaging.
haha I understand. I will say, the times a slipcover has been misleading have been very rare for me. I encounter that more with Severin personally.
