    I have 11 bumblebee goby in a 55 gallon community tank and they are about the lowest maintenance fish i have. In the morning everybody gets three bloodworm cubes, thawed in aquarium water. They are in with 6 glo tetras, 6 various poecilidae, 1 tiger hillstream loach, and 2 Florida flagfish and they all swarm for the morning feed, the gobys will snack on small pieces of flake in the evening if they are hungry.

    I have three of these in a 125 community tank. They eat frozen blood worms ,and do not acknowledge anything else in the tank except each other. The three seem to get along ok ,but I added 2 more at one point and they were not having it. The three I had killed the two within 2 days of being introduced . Tank is well established, spot on water perimeters ,and I'm in vegas and we have HARD water . The angelfish do not chase or harass anything in the tank but each other . The only thing I saw was aggression from the established gobys .
    6 Philippine blue angels/varied
    11 cherry barbs
    8 corey doras
    3 kuhli loaches
    2 sewellia hillstream loaches
    3 yo yo botia
    1 halibut
    1 siamese algae eater
    17 to 20 ghost shrimps
    About 50 live plants .

    Great video! I just picked some of these guys up and was researching videos before I reviewed them on my channel myself! I have mine in freshwater right now and I hope they make it! The water is hard at least.

    They do love frozen daphnia and it's worth trying them with a small pellet, sera is a good brand.

    Hi. Nice information. The pet store sold me six bumblebee goby. When I asked for something that could devour my algae. I was in no position to research it there. But now I find that it needs live food. Does it never eat algae?

    • @Reyma777
      @Reyma777  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To the best of my knowledge Bumblebee Gobies are carnivorous. Stiphodon Gobies such as the Cobalt Blue Goby are specialized algae eaters, here is a link www.seriouslyfish.com/species/stiphodon-semoni/

    What would you count as hard water for these guys?

    • @Reyma777
      @Reyma777  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      My source, seriously fish, recommended a hardness of at least 143 ppm.

  • @SP-qs4yh

    What is the easiest goby for freshwater? I am asking because I recently decided that I want a goby. My tank PH is 7.5 will that be ok for most gobies?

    • @Reyma777
      @Reyma777  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are a lot of rather obscure gobies that occasionally appear on the market. From my own understanding the Peacock Goby , while not a true goby is one of the easier species to care for. Here a link to site that often find useful www.seriouslyfish.com/species/tateurndina-ocellicauda/

    • @fishmansf4
      @fishmansf4 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      MrReyno Tanks thanks but I have decided to get the bumble bee goby. I called the fish store I go to and they said that I should be able to take care of them. My PH is 7.5 and I feed the tank blood worms on the weekends and the guys at the store said that should be fine.

    • @Strongerthandirt8695
      @Strongerthandirt8695 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cryptocorynes1253 totally agree with you! By far the most fun. Waaay more fun than bumblebee gobies, even though they only live for a year. :(

  • @thethreeeyedwolf7566
    @thethreeeyedwolf7566 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    can they be compatible with gouramis and angels

    • @Reyma777
      @Reyma777  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would assume that angels would try to eat the bumbleebee gobies. Many of the gouramis are tolerate of hard water, but some of the larger types, may also try to eat the bumbleebee gobies.

    My partner has a 10 gallon tank which she has a very nice placid crown tale beta and a few tetras and a small cory then she decides to buy 3 bumblebee gobys, the guy did warn us they were very placid and nice and the beta mite eat them, so we tried anyways, all went well until the third day when i switched on the tank light and noticed the beta had half a tail missing, i automatically thought it must have fin rot until an hour later when there was a commotion in the tank and the 3 gobys were ripping my gfs betas tail apart, i immediately threw them in my other tank with my angels and other lager fish, there doing fine hiding in the rocks and the betas tail is growing back! Warning These little fish are monsters, have in your tank at your own risk! 😂😂😂
