    I bought three of these in France a couple of days ago for €2,80 each. I haven't seen them in my aquarium since, I learned afterwards that they only come out at night. Great, now I know why they were so cheap.

    I love bumblebee gobies. Small gobies with big personalities. I'm curious as to whether you ever had issues getting them to take non live foods? I never found them to be fussy at all about taking frozen foods, even had a few take pellets, but I hear often that they're difficult to get feeding.
    Great video by the way, very interesting to see the specific gravity of the water in which these ones were collected. I've typically always aimed for about 1.003 for them, but have gone as low as (fairly hard) freshwater and as high as 1.008 and didn't notice any difference in behaviour or colouration. I suspect they're not fussy, but perhaps the specific species and collection sight would be a factor.

    • @BeFishy
      @BeFishy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They're a beautiful species indeed! I've had no issues with them taking frozen bloodworms but have no luck with pellets.
      Yes, perhaps it does. Some species seems to be ok with fresh and some do require low end brackish waters.

    I’ve had these little guys for about 8 months now and unfortunately lost 3 during a move about a month ago😢 I’ve only added aquarium salt, which I now know was not the best move😅 but they’ve all been happy little dudes(at least I hope so) they get along with my Betta really well as well as the pea puffers,(pea puffers dont like the betta though) THEY DO EAT SHRIMP as my ENTIRE colony of blue shrimp got wiped out soon after they got added in the tank😭😅 I can see mine most of the day but they do disappear for a few hours during the day in my 60l/15g planted tank(big time jungle vibes) I’ve also noticed they love playing in streams of water(when I do water topups/changes), so they might prefer higher flow. Only have 3 left so I need to get some more asap, just a very seasonal fish in my area😅
    Definitely the type to just zone out on, they remind me of clown fish .. but miniature🥹😂

    • @BeFishy
      @BeFishy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      For frozen bloodworms, I will usually place them in different spots in the tank so everybody can eat. I will try to target other fish first, and once they're busy with that, target the spot where the bumblebee gobies are. 😊

    Are plecos/suckerfish compatible with gobies? They’re two of my favorite fish and I almost always feel a cleaner fish is necessary

    • @BeFishy
      @BeFishy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd say it really depends on the type & character of goby and plecos. I had bumblebee gobies with otocinclus and they do fine. Other bumblebee gobies keepers has had no problem placing the two species together but do monitor them first. All the best! :D

    Isn't this fish native of freshwater on Asian countries only..if i'm correct the numbers is now quite down lately and it's rarely can be found,occassionly there's null results after searching it..,probably their habitat destroyed by a pollution.., anyway as a fans of little exotic fish i’m wondering how much it would cost you for one bumblebee goby..

    • @BeFishy
      @BeFishy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed, they are mostly found in Southeast Asia. Their numbers have dwindled down in the wild but good news is that, breeders from all over the world are breeding them in efforts of sustaining a captive bred colony. In this video, I was kindly given these gobies by a dear friend, Projek Aqua. He caught them from his area and had given them to Be Fishy for free for research purposes. I believe in the market in Malaysia, they cost around RM5.00 minimum/fish. 😄
