I hope you girls know how blessed you are to have music in your young lives! It’s clear you all have talent. I hope your love for music grows with you. It is a gift!
I don't think it's the music or the talent. I suspect it's the mix. The guitar drowns out the lead singer and the harmony is very faint. I can only hear the harmony when a wrong note is sung. I commend these ladies on their attempt. They sound like they deserve better.
Three amazing girls I just love em. This is what life is all about. Way to go ladies, your three individual beams of light shining through all that's wrong in the crazy world we live in.
John Thomas ,my name is Rob. I live in Branson These girls personify what Branson Missouri is Al about. God, family and country. A true oaiss in a crazy world. Musical families like this are common here.
I don't know which god(s) you believe in, but I think all glory goes to these girls and the people that got them to where they're at--not to some imagined spirits.
So subtle a mix. The smile when the youngest started the violin and the perfect mandolin solo. So humbly delivered and all three are fantastic. The mandolin player could have been in HANSON doing MMMbop. And I say that with love as that song, thus song and the youthful innocence of music made just calm the world for me. So happy I found this.
Geez, eight years ago! Those girls are young women now! That must be how I got to be over 70 today when I was just 23 yesterday. Great music! Takes me back! Thanks!
Love the way the little fiddle player (who's great, sorry , I don't know her name) looks towards her Mom for cues and when to join in or leave. Beautiful, talented family.
I am absolutely blown away with tears pouring down my face. For years I’ve told my loved ones I want this song and ONLY this song played at my funeral. They have all thought me crazy. I just cannot express how blessed I am to have been able to hear this absolutely incredible cover of this song FINALLY presented to the world frm the forever enduring heart of a woman… these lovely ladies have finally brought to the world a poem that God intended to be seen thru the eyes of OUR HEARTS. Every day we take in the weight of not only the world but of every single soul we carry within our hearts… we create life & we nurture it & we throw all of everything we are into what makes the AMAZING in our world. Yet we are noticed the least. We ENDURE. Why? Because we are LOVE.
Let's see, ten years have passed since this video was posted. They've grown in so many ways - like it or not. At their age, changes can happen much faster than they want. Would love to see and hear them perform this particular song again. I would really to like to see how much their individual skills and methods have improved. And I'd really love to see how the style and sound of the three of them together as a band has developed and perhaps become unified and, I guess, 'comprehensive' , if you know what I mean. Anyhow this was superfun to watch. For that, I am thankful.
love to hear your song. more than 50 times.....you make me cry kids! lovely, a lovely song and you do it...soo good.. i was there in the old days... 64 here yeah it sucks getting old but, I love the real music the artists did. Thanks to you and your family for kicking some butt and making a solid song. and your sound is lovely, I come to listen to you guys every week or so. these young ladies are wow!
The one quality so sorely missing in young people is insight. Insight is among other things , realizing that there are genuinely held views that even though conflict with yours ,are just as valid. I don't like hip hop , but I have the insight ,and the maturity , to admit that alot of people do. Classical music is not my first choice , but I would never "dislike " it based on the fact that it is widely accepted throughout the world. Also, throughout history , most young people have a hard time imaginng that , as time passes , their view on things (tattoos , smoking) just might evolve. Are you guilty?
I live near the Martin factory. This is exactly why they build guitars. That said, I’m proud of all three of you. Keep it up. Sing with your instruments.
Don't be afraid to kick it out...... Sounds fabulous!!!!! more violin, more mandolin, more harmony, more voices.... you got the talent, stop holding back. Look at all the responses that are positive! This is not people being nice cause they think your cute. Youve got a sound. Drive it!! Good Luck, Litltoose
Well, it is a little bit because she's cute. But really, really good! And the best mandolin I've ever heard played by someone wearing what appear to be pink bunny boots.
@@heinzbaron9129 I think because of the popularity of that type of music that were born in the 60's. Early 70's as well. I've always loved folk, southern rock, classic rock. The algorithm is because James Spader is really kind of popular right now.
Can't stop watching, amazing. What a great gift to give to give your kids. Mom of the year honors. Mandolin, fiddle, kids, really?, I hope they know what a great gift you have given them. Wow. Pink slippers rock, Stills can't hang, not close!
Beautiful song and beautiful young women beyond all human thinking this is so genuine it’s intoxicating to listen and watch them play that violin sound is gold and there love is like gold because gold never losses it’s shine so continue to let your love grow and continue to shine 💕💕🙏❤️🌙☀️🌎💛💙💜❤️
WOW!!!! I'm 62 years old. this is the second best version I've ever heard of this song. the only way these ladies could get it any better is to sail the southern crossing. I am a new fan will look for more of there work, great work ladies. C. S. & N. would be proud of your work
Tomas T. I totally agree with you, these ladies are good. I listen to all kinds of music ,rock, r&b, soul, oldies, country, hard rock I can appreciate good music. Don’t know what’s wrong with all these thumbs down. Just my opinion
Music....one of it's purposes you may say, bring joy, raise our spirits, get together, share the rhythm, live the lyrics. All these any many more you're giving us. From me to you, I gratefully thank you for this present...peace
Boy oh boy do I hear the Nickel Creek and Allison Krauss in that, very, very well done. You have two rock solid young ladies there, keep up the good work mom.
Just a kid, followed CSN&Y everywhere. If close, was there to wonder at their music. Now, three young women resurrect precious memories with angelic voices and talented instrumental poise. Young souls, take this old heart, fill it again and again. This Old Soul yearns to see them sing just one more time. 'Like' is just not enough thanks to express what you so richly deserve. Michael W.
KAPPA .. Love your voice and Guitar! lovely range!! Alto, soprano, tremolo and more!Perfectly expressed against the mandolin & violin.. And when those two ladies harmonize with their voices!! The WHOLE is greater than the sum of the parts! Love your music.
10 years ago. Wow. I'm Sure they go back and watch. What voice! Love it comes in with the fiddle at the perfect time. Great tune. If I was there parents,I would be blushing so good.
NOTHING COMPARES!!! Three Ladies in perfect harmony.. Inspiring.. DOH!! My words are not enough!? LOVE YOU.. And Thank You for the simple, perfect way you play and express the music. Perfect is not a good enough word!? You are so beautifully relaxed and entwined as you sing and play the instruments in a wholesome completeness as individuals.. WORDS are all i have.. NOTHING COMPARES TO YOU.
Beautiful, and such talent! for those commenting otherwise, please play any of those 3 instruments better or even equal to those ladies, and then get back to us, yes am a musician too, no I won't link to any as this is my personal account, not the bands.
Coming from one who has been a professional musician for the past 53 years, this video helps to re-establish my faltering faith in the younger generation of "musicians" out there. Very refreshing. Thanks for sharing, young ladies /;?#)
Hey girls, this version of Southern Cross really hits the lick. Here in New Orleans, they tore the railroad tracks out a long time ago. Y'all keep it up. I'm going to subscribe right now!
Oh my........ you've all brought this 60 year old father of two daughters to tears. My girls are in their twenties now and are very familiar with Southern Cross and just about everything else I listened to growing up. Lovely performance, thanks.
Ladies I have just discovered you thanks to the TH-cam algorithm, probably bc I am a fan of a band called Foxes and Fossils. I love original version of this song and now I love your version too. I look forward to watching the videos you've done. Bravo from the Flatiron neighborhood in NYC. 😊❤🎼🎶👍🌷
Fantastic, could listen to your music from sun up to sun down. Beautiful music , hope to hear more from ya'll. God Bless you and God Bless America again
Once again the young lady with the mandolin steals the show! Great harmonies as well! This is my all time favorite song by the way and you girls bid a great job.
Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful. When you see the Southern Cross for the first time, you understand now why you came this way. Only cover of this wonderful song as good as the original. Thank you, girls. Beautiful.

Please tell me in the last 9 years these ladies got the respect they deserved for their singing talent. This is absolutely angelic.
Or the last 12 years
If they discovered harmony. I hear only one part.
Beautiful!
THIS WOMAN TAUGHT HER DAUGHTERS VERY WELL FOR THIS SONG 🎼 ! THEIR SINGING IS BEAUTIFUL TOO !
Very nice to see a family perform timeless music together. I hope they get a studio.
these girls did a great job doin one of the best classic songs ever. With tears in my eyes, I stand up and give them a standing ovation. Awesome!!

It is a gift!
When mom smiles, the whole room gets brighter. Thank you all. You brightened my day.
As of December 12th 2017, 93 people who gave this a thumbs down, have no clue what great music and musical talent are. Awesome video ladies!
I don't think it's the music or the talent. I suspect it's the mix. The guitar drowns out the lead singer and the harmony is very faint. I can only hear the harmony when a wrong note is sung.

Bravo
Actual music being made on actual instruments, by actual people !
Amen bro! Pure talent!
Guess what? They aint get likes. And they have a bad day???
That young lady on the violin has the perfect touch!
she looks like one of Raphaels Angels.....
Hearing this made my day. Crosby Stills Nash and Young would be proud. FABULOUS !!!
Great job! No sure how any one can give a thumbs down and not appreciate a mom and her two lovely daughters making music.
I have been coming back to this for years and there's still spectacular every time. Thank you ladies.

One of the toughest songs to play. So much going on you cannot appreciate unless you play. Damn, nailed it. Beautiful
Magnificent girls, you captured the feel of the original artists emotions. You didn't just sing the song, you captured it.
Love the way the little fiddle player (who's great, sorry , I don't know her name) looks towards her Mom for cues and when to join in or leave. Beautiful, talented family.
I thought that was her older sister not her mom.
Two sisters and their mother , mom has a twin sister who can sing and play also.

Would be cool to see them do a 10 years later version of this now!

Excellent musicianship from all. Great harmonies and interesting stringed instrument combination. Thanks, an aural pleasure.

Sweet home version. Loved the percussion on the violin! Surprised there's no "hot mom" comments, but, it's also nice to see there isn't. Thank you.

"there's no "hot mom" comments" -- there is ...... NOW
Haha "hot mom" comments. I'm sure people were thinking it but you were the one to say it. 😂

The song you sing is perhaps my favorite song
because of 1 verse. Please hear my heart in this sweetest 'frane:
"I have my ship and all of her flags are a flying,
She may be all that I have left and MUSIC is her name."
Music is the answer to raising happy, healthy children. Get your kids playing at church, or scouts or wherever.
I don't know these people. But I know good music. And this is it.
Holy amazing cover, batman!! Wow
I agree
The first time y'all leaned in and sang together... Chills up and down my arms.
Great playing!
Tears of great joy course down this old mans face.
I'm loving her voice and there harmony. Great musicians as well! This is just a perfect cover .
