    thanks again paul. listening to your talks i'm always reminded of something that i seemed to have forgot. today it was recognising that state of no effort. when that remembering occurs it is accompanied with a smile

    Listening to these talks, there's an increasing sense of the dream's production and whilst I am getting snapshots of the images, an underlying sense of the thinker/actor/feeler is still there. This makes for contrasting days of being identitifed, or not, or feeling trapped as a body by aches and pains in the body then feeling released through another seeing. Around half way through this video, some recent events played out in Mind where I saw myself blatantly as the actor in those situations because I was blind to it. I got shaken out the slumber by the pang of rejection or the incessant search for freedom and I laughed . Me, the central figure in all of it wanting this and not wanting that and bemoaning what i couldn't get and trying harder to get it, and on and on in this endless charade. I don't even know if I'm writing from this actor or genuinely from what I see about the act without trying to get anything from it. Perhaps the latter as it feels observational about what's been going on. The hardest part can be letting go of this actor because it's so deeply conditioned.

    Wow, Paul's words are so clarifying! I see more and more it's about relaxation and allowing. Stop taking mind seriously and just listen to the beingness in relaxation. Relax! LOL, my mind just wants to be uptight about something, (anything!) and letting go of that conditioning seems essential to the deeper relaxation of beingness.

    You don't let go. There is no "you".
    It's just the end of the story that there is someone holding on.

    Great beginning;; intro hits nail on the head. Just what I need to get focused on reality.

      @Karen-uo5xu 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      still listening...but he says clearly we can't focus on it..we can't do anything but create a subject and object...guess like that saying: An eye can't see itself ..we can't do anything!

      +Karen Karen sorry..'just what I need' based on past. 'to get' ...future. sorry couldn't read exactly what you wrote while typing 😜😝😭

      +Karen i'm just thinking, writing, in words. Maybe better to say integrate it from consciousness into awareness. The introduction the message is to recognize what we are not, and then what we are is revealed.

      Michael Locey Yes! Maybe that's it. I'm still listening to the video but have to go out now. Enjoy the rest.

    Last note: Paul, is entertaining the same as thinking? I'd say so. So I can say that if awareness is the substratum of consciousness, Then we consciously negate thoughts of who we are in order to dissolve them at the foot of awareness which takes over.

    • @hirofan
      @hirofan 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think when Paul says "entertain it" he means to admit it..
      just accept the truth already

    One thing I would like clarified: When Paul says we give everything all the meaning it has, what is the "we" he is referring to?

    • @19Marc79
      @19Marc79 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It´s YOU. The "I am". But not as a self-centered person ;_)

    • @annie49
      @annie49 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe he means the activity that we take for us, but really it's just an activity? I was thinking the same with who is it that likes the hummingbird?

    • @MajorCulturalDivide
      @MajorCulturalDivide 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's what I was thinking, because how can "nothing" give anything meaning? It's a little confusing.

    • @annie49
      @annie49 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think the brain is a meaning making machine, it's helped us survive.
      But we take ourselves to be the output of that process, (activity in the brain), but we're not really that. That is going on, but it's not really a self, it's just an activity, we are identified with the wrong thing, focusing attention narrowly on the wrong thing.
      As a metaphor it would be like taking ourselves to be the cloud, which is blocking what we really are, which is the sun. The cloud is still there, but it's just a cloud, it comes and goes. The light is always behind everything. Maybe, just my thoughts.

    • @MajorCulturalDivide
      @MajorCulturalDivide 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That sounds right. That nagging inner voice that tells me my life story and how awful things are is my brain thinking it's me. Sometimes it says "I", sometimes it says "You", and on truly bizarre occasions it actually says "We".

  • @mjl.9-19
    @mjl.9-19 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm beginning to think that not thinking is a way. Non-way?

    • @19Marc79
      @19Marc79 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If "travelling lighter" is the result, then carry on ! But chances are high, that you´ll come to see, that wanting to repress thoughts, simply results in more thougts ;_) Which is totally fine, if you know, that you are not the owner of thoughts and that the person, that they revolve around, is just a mental construct. "Thoughts are always about thoughts"". It´s a totally restricted and FAILED system. A vicious circle. Like driving an endless roundabout.....

    28:00 all the conditioning equaling the bondage of self, a mental activity; "only seems to be so", yet fucking hardest thing to NOT DO; really get it that you are not; feel that which is not a thing...

    How many people see this? none! Who sees this? no one! Does anyone understands this? no! So you must be nothing and no one with no knowledge in order to see this.
