I feel this is Dio's most underrated song, but at the same time it's not super well known. Like whenever people talk about his music they would brink up the usual catalog with Holy Diver, Don't Talk to Strangers, and Stargazer. But this I feel like this this song is always under the radar, no one talks about it that much. Which is sad, it's such a well written and well performed song. I hope this song will start picking up people's interest, especially with it being Dio's final song.

True Story about this song and David Rock Feinstein. Joey Niji traveled from CA to NJ to see the east coast Heaven and Hell shows in 2009. He stayed with me Danny Epic at my home in Bergen County and we went to the Madison Square Garden, Connecticut and Atlantic City shows. After the MSG show, we got back stage, and Ronnie told us to go visit his cousin David who played with him in Elf in Cortland NY. So we did. After seeing Ronnie’s childhood house and visiting Ronnie’s old haunts, we found David at his restaurant The Hollywood. He sat with us for 2 hours eating outrageous authentic Italian food and told us unbelievable stories about him and Ronnie from back in the day. He then took us to The Rods recording studio which was near by and asked us if we wanted to hear something special, something that no one has ever heard before. He played this song Metal Will Never Die for us and told us the story of him recording it with Ronnie. David was as cool as they come, it must run in the Padavona blood line. He gave us Rod t-shirts and sent us home at about 2 AM. Fantastic, unbelievable rock and roll memories.
