This is by far the best video on explaining how to diagnose and repair your own ice maker. Kudos to Vance. He also speaks slowly and calmly and helps you stay calm during what could be a very frustrating process, I think we should clone Vance. 😉
The video is very well done. I understand how it works and how it is held in place makes troubleshooting a lot easier! Thanks for all the efforts you put in creating this!
My icemaker (KitchenAid three door end is similar but doesn't have the adjustment screw for fill time. How do I adjust? The cubes are coming out stuck together.
Thanks for watching. The adjustment screw is sometimes under a cover. In other models there might be electronic controls to adjust the amount of water in the tray. Check your manual to see if this is an option.
I came home yesterday to a garage with water all over the floor. There was water spraying out of the icemaker area. We shut off the water and checked over the ice and maker and it seemed okay. Everything got put back together but it hasn't produced very much ice overnight. Maybe a tray or two. After watching this video I'm planning to pull the entire icemaker assembly out. I'm not sure why the water did not automatically shut off. Any ideas? It is a Frigidaire FFHS2611LBNA thank you
Thanks for watching. It could be the ice maker control that kept the water valve open too much. If the problem continues then installing a new ice maker could help. Alternatively if the water valve is not closing properly this could also cause water to flow when it's not supposed to: th-cam.com/video/EcHazrh_fos/w-d-xo.html
Not so good review, we just bought a Whirlpool model WRT318FZDM and the ice maker from the very beginning is leaking water in the freezer under the tray. Water is in the ice bucket as well and frozen we just got it Friday 3.8.24. Very frustrating as our mom is 93 yrs young. She's doing ok but is having some difficulty breathing. Just disappointing as the guys were in and out like a flash. We got this unit from lowes in Orlando off 436. I'm calling customer service first thing Monday the 11th of March 2024. ;( hopefully this isn't going to be an ongoing issue.
Thanks for watching. Let us know if you were able to narrow down if the problem. In most cases it is a leaking ice maker tray, or was it an issue with the fill tube, spilling water below.
Nice video, however, I can't help but notice that you folks charge an exorbitant $185 for the same ice maker I just bought for about $75 from somebody else...
Thanks for watching, we're glad you found the video helpful. We appreciate the feedback and in many cases it can be tricky to compare genuine OEM parts to non OEM parts. Was the replacement OEM or non OEM? Can you share which part # you're referring to?
@@AmreSupply Thanks for your response. I don't know if this is a "genuine OEM part" or not, but if it works I don't really care all that much. Re pricing I should note that your price is some $20 higher than even getting the part from the Jenn-Air directly. This sort of random pricing turns a lot of people off as I am sure you know..
@@paulsubject9003 I can't speak to all pricing and what factors are involved but it's worth remembering that AMRE has 12 locations across Canada where people can come in and buy these parts the same day. Brick-and-mortar business have different operating costs than online only warehouses. Some manufacturers do sell direct to consumer and there will obviously be some cost savings as it does not need to go through these additional steps to go to a brick-and--mortar store.
@AmreSupply my ice maker it's not freezing the water completely! Most of the ice comes out in little pieces clear like a glass. Where from can be the problem? Please help me!! 🙏

You're very welcome! Glad you found it helpful.
This was extremely helpful, specifically the leveling of the ice maker itself and the fill adjustment screw.
Thank you, we're glad you found those addition details helpful!
