I love your videos. My Swiss father died some years back and we lived in South Africa. He didn't teach us Swiss German because in those days they thought it would confuse us. So I could understand some of what he said when speaking to other Swiss people, but I could never speak it myself. There are lots of similarities with Afrikaans so that helps. Now I listen to your channel to feel connected to that language and I even shared some videos with my aunt in Switzerland (she also laughed about the mispronunciation of "grüezi"). I wish you every success with the channel. I'm so glad someone is doing this in such a nice way. ❤

Thank you for these videos! I am trying to learn Swiss German to speak to my nephews. They speak English, but I want to surprise them by learning Swiss German for when I visit them next year. I know some high German from school and that helps a bit, but also kind of confusing as I am also trying to brush up on my high German at the same time. 😅 Wish me luck!

Your videos are good. But I would like to see a big video where you would take a lot of words, like 300 - 400 for example. Where you name all the words, that sound completely different, if to compare with standard German. Like „luege“ and „schauen“. Because this is the main problem of all foreigners. We need to know the words, which sound different, but there is no exact list of those words. If you buy a book, they give you a lot of words that are really outdated, and nobody uses them anymore. So, if you could make this video, it would be perfect.

@@SwissGermanBeginners I have even this book. But unfortunately, this book you cannot find a lot of words that sound differently. It’s more about grammar. So. You should really make a video with a big list.
I think in Bern I hear more "mir *heii*" instead of "mir händ". Could this be true?
