    for your information , we don’t “do” mistakes in a language , in English, we “make” them.. Yes I know it is a common error for many foreigners as the verbs are the same word in many languages

    That double words topic is so useful for me. I hv been reading my swiss family group chat and has no idea what they are on everytime when they use double words in their conversation. Now everything make sense! please I beg you to make another video of it! thanks for all the hardwords and definitly will buy ur book !

    The first pronunciation of grüezi is literally the only one I‘ve ever heard in Zürich so this might be an exaggeration to say it’s not Swiss 😂

    Thanks for making these videos, they've really been helping me out. I've been doing an exchange in Kanton Bern for 8 months and I've been saying "Hallo" to everyone cause whenever I say "Gruusech" to people they look at me weird. Now I know I need to especially enunciate the "ue"😅. Mercii Viumau!

      Haha lobe that!! You know Gruusech could also be understood as "gruusig/gruuseg", which means ugly 😅😅

    Happy New Year Andrea! Grüezi ! I have been studying Hochdeutsch for about 3 years now. When I learn Hochdeutsch completely I will have more time to study Swiss German.       Can be Basel or Aargau for example. Berndütsch would be "danke viumau".

    Parken v. Parkieren; pressen v pressieren, marschen v. marschieren, usw. Meine Mutter war Schweizerin...aus Bern. Ich kann Hochbdeutch und verstehe auch Berndeutch. Veilleicht Mal von den verschiedenen Dialekten innerhalb der Schweitz mitteilen? Merci ViuMau!!!

    Hello! I will be visiting Praden,Switzerland as well as Chur this coming Summer. Will I be able to use the Zurich Dialect and be ok, or will they give me funny looks? What is your recommendation?

      You can use the Zurich dialect, no problem 😁 the problem is more that you might find it difficult to understand their dialect at first.

Do you think i should continue to learn Swiss german phrases ? Do you think they will appreciate that , or should i just learn normal German? Thank you!

      @@SwissGermanBeginners do they speak mostly French in Geneva? I was so excited about learning Swiss German 😭 I was aiming for Geneva since I would only visit a week, and it’s a smaller city than Zurich.

      Oh what a pity! Yes they speak French. But Lucerne or Zurich are really great for a week as well. Or Basel or Berne 😊🤗

      @@KevinCdva I’m an Englishman living in Luzern, or just outside of it in Nidwalden. You could easily holiday here for a week, not to mention Bern, Zurich and Basel are all about an hour away. I recommend checking out the Lauterbrunnen region and Engelberg. I have family in Geneva too, trust me, there’s no Swiss German spoken there at all 😂

    Dass Schwizerdütsch kei Prätäritum het, numme Pärfäkt. Ich mache hüufig Fähler.

      Ja das stimmt. Das isch au öppis, wo andersch isch (aber eifacher) wie im Dütsch.
