Beautiful video. Really love how realistic you've made the mysterious sightings of the "Magic Ghost Train", like the person on the train filming in protrait mode. Really love that detail.
I saw her once on the light-rail in Seattle Washington. She was passing our train in the other direction, all ruby and gold in the sun, but no one noticed her. I heard her whistle as she went by, and it almost felt like she was saying hello.
It's funny how you should mention the Pacific Northwest. I've seen her too in this region. Twice in fact. And you, wouldn't be wrong in terms of her saying something to you. I personally believe she spoke to me. And with the claims of her being a 'ghost' so popular I just gotta admit, i fully believe that isn't true now after what I've seen from her. Most accounts of her seem to be in bigger cities but, I was always more interested in the ones where she appears in the middle of dead nowhere, like Muffle Mountain or Shining Time. Or in my case, several places in Oregon. The first time I met 'The Lady' { of which i will be calling her for the remainder of this recount } was in Redmond, Oregon. BNSF trackage runs through here, not too much, but it's still enough to keep the spurs busy. This first account was, at a distance. Was there visiting family, and decided to head out to the railway line to record some trains as they passed, just the usual manifest freights, a diversion, and. her. When I was just filming a passing grain, the sound of, some sort of.. Energy, best way I can compare it to was the clip of Denver in this video. Still, there she stood on the end of a spur, waiting for the freighter to pass. Once it did, she just, remained there, points against her. Almost felt like she was looking at me. Took the hint and walked to the point lever. Should have been locked but some like, gold light shimmered off it, probably just a like, lamp on the building's reflection. Still the lock came off easy, and I was able to let her out. She whistled twice, seemingly as if she was saying 'thank you'. Switched t hem back and reapplyed the lock. thanking my stars no one came after that. Second time I met her was actually in the most out of the way spot I have seen in accounts: Near Chitwood along the Portland and Western branch to Toledo. Car had broken down since i was driving along the OLD Highway 20, fallen branch I didn't see round a curve till i hit it and shot my tire iirc, so was basically out in the middle of nowhere with no service { thanks verizon }, and no one around to help me since most was gated private property. I knew Chitwood was my best bet so started walking. raining cats and dogs as well so I was doomed to be a sniffling sick mess when i got home lmao. still i was walking along the section that goes right by the road, so i walked along the tracks since nothing really ever comes up it and it's better than trying to go up and down hills so tracks it is. portland and western hadn't cleared the track after the storm so there was debris around. small enough for modern diesels to push out of the way except for this one huge ass branch from one of the trees near the line. i think it was around that time that i felt the like, ground shake like a train was approaching. Honestly i was in a full ass panic when I heard that, and scrambled off the line, grabbing what light I had with me and shining it in the direction i thought it was coming from. thanking my gods the guess was correct, i genuinely flailed as best as i could to stop them. or. what i thought was 'them', them being the portland and western's toledo hauler. nope, who else would i come face to i guess smokebox with but The Lady. I genuinely thouught they were going to hit but, she stopped in that typical 'just in time' fashion. I genuinely couldn't believe who I was seeing. wouldve soaked my head in the river if i could but i was already soaked so. i took a second to comprehend, then actually got to work clearing the branch. i have a like. habit of talking to myself about my grievences, but with her being there i thouught I could just kinda, speak with nothing going on but, someone to listen. told her about my car busting on me and the fact i hated rain, also talked a bit about my experience being trans and pronouns and stuff. when i told her about how i thought i'd melt something happened. people say i probably was just going a bit crazy but i heard another voice in my head. a deeper, feminine voice, compared to my mid stage trans female one where i was trying to be high pitched. she made a comment on how she knew someone else that hated the rain, though they were a bit bigger and greener. they also mentioned that the one she was refering to ALSO went through a big change. i genuinely think i was silent for at least 2 minutes after. got the branch off and watched her begin to move but she stopped. again that voice rung in my head saying, quote: 'how about a lift? i can get you to civilization. I'm heading in your direction regardless.' took the offer since again, stuck on my own with no service and car being stupid. took the offer and slowly stepped up to the footplate. got to see up close and personal that her regulator moved on it's own as movement began again. we chatted about stuff on the way to toledo. most memorable conversation was when I told her about how i lived in the area all my life, but felt very cooped up and trapped. She sympathized, saying something I never thought I'd hear; an answer to the question of what she was doing running. words i can't forget honestly; 'I felt cooped up myself in MY home I had spent years in. It isn't exactly a fun life, so I chose to leave it every now and again. It took a lot of initiative, and determination to turn it into a regular thing for myself. But, it worked after a while. With what you are talking about, I think you should attempt it too. You have a lot of life left young one.' Those words stuck with me all the rest of the way to Toledo. She stopped just over the crossing, parking on one of the lines close to the Yaquina Pacific Railroad Museum. She and the resident logging mikado were able to see each other. or. relatively speaking i guess. I told her about her, and called her by a name i gave her, 'Jane'. Again people say I'm crazy, but i heard ANOTHER voice. this one was, older sounding, a bit raspy, but still a gentle one. I stayed there for about an hour before I actually called for help and for someone to pick me up. Was late but my mother was willing to help out. I came back after I stepped away for the call, seeing that The Lady had turned around, and my camera, set up. She told me that she wanted a picture before she left, as she usually tried to get one everywhere she went, be it intentional, or, accidental. I mentioned the sightings, and she told me that was her way of getting pictures for her collection of memories. And with her calling Jane a new friend, I knew they wanted to share it. So, I got out the clicker for my camera, and took a picture. She gifted me two things that night, a printer for the photo, of which I printed out as big as she wanted, and helped to frame it on her footplate, and a little whistle, saying that if I ever needed help, or company, again, to just give it a blow. As she began to leave to the east she paused, asking if I had a name for her besides 'Lady'. I said Madeline, and she told me it sounded beautiful. She left after that with a blow of her own whistle, but, not in the way I expected. She moved down one of the museum's sidings, and vanished into their makeshift buffers with that same energy i mentioned before. well fast forward to now when I finally decided to look at my pictures from that night and i genuinely couldn't help but smile at seeing the picture i took with her. i looked like. me. more than i usually do. i looked how i wanted to be seen. it was surprising even to me. but the biggest detail people pointed out. there were two other faces in the picture. One, was on Madeline. The other? Jane. Her face was older, gruffer, but still in a wide smile. Oddest thing? Glasses were perched on her nose, round ones like what I use sometimes. Not as actual uh glasses just as sort of accessories. Still they were just, smiling for the camera. Decided to frame it on MY wall as well after that. yeah i haven't blown the whistle much, if at all. only time I remember blowing it was at Train Mountain in Southern Oregon. lost my usual, and had to use it. Later that night I got to see her again as i decided to go into chiloquin itself to make up for the whistle blow. chatted for a while. said this was like home sometimes in the high summer. other than that, not too much else between me and madeline. she's really chill and i genuinely want to talk more with her but, not exactly near rails at the moment. honestly kinda happy i met her though. at my last encounter talked about discord { god help us all }, but uh yeah. chill. still kinda hate how she's been simplified down to a 'ghost train' but she is genuinely so much more from what i've experienced. and i kinda think i might be the only one who really knows The Secret of The Lady. Or. Madeline's Secret as she told me. idk why i cooked so hard on this.
South Korean here. I was waiting for my subway train at Jukjeon station, which is the only station with a yard around the area. When I got on the train, I swear I saw that very engine, running through the yard. No one seemed to notice it, but I remember a faint whistle. I found it odd, as there are no steam engines in Korea that’s in functioning state.
the only thing i can think of is that she's looking for an engine to save. and maybe it's hiro or another long-forgotten engine. but the indian valley railroad reminded me of hank, then thomas's branch line was the best touch of all.
Lady's Big World, Big Adventure and other stories. The moment we see Lady in Colorado I thought back to my DOWT trip there a month ago. 😊 I was expecting Thomas to reunite with Lady at the end when she traveled through Ffarquhar. Happy Halloween! 🎃🍬😊
Magic is all around us it’s a shame so few can notice it I can hear her within the fields at night she must be traveling on preexisting lines or defunct ones that aren’t here anymore.
I saw her one time in great bend ks on the kansas and Oklahoma railroad, and she raced right into a business bamed acme scrap iron (the railroad takes scrap from them), and disappeared at a ser of buffers.
Gotta love how high quality and realistic the video is but the thumbnail is just like those stupid “Top 10 sightings of ALIENS in our planet” thumbnail.
girly is just travelling the world let her live her life sheesh how would you feel if you were trapped in a cave and had magic that you could see the world with /lh In all seriousness this was genuinely beautiful, seeing her travel the world was incredible, and seeing her alongside such beautiful routes and consists is always a treat. Also Trainz 22 is very much a beautiful sim for what it has. Also an interesting take on Shining Time in the modern day. Also also the choicee to keep her front out of the shot on Sodor was amazing considering the rest was also shown with her not having a face. The realism in how the footage was shot from people's perspectives, the mad flailing of the camera as people looked at basically a ghost was awesome. The visualization of her just entering exiting buffers wherever the hell she was going was also incredible, really gives a perspective on how the magic 'ghost' train gets places. Incredible stuff! also it's probably just a me thing for using trainz for not just train with face content but i could recognize the west from denver route in places and such. was nice.

I saw her once running in the New York subways. She stood out like a gem from the station around her, and I seemed to be only one who noticed.
I once saw her on the Chicago L. My wooden railway toy of her whistled as she went by.

Amazing work! Loved the last show so much, and the Amtrak train being at Shining time is a nice reference if that's what you were going for
Reference to what specifically?
Looks like She’s bound to find a blue tank engine tailing Her calling Her beautiful.
Let’s hope she finds this useful engine.

Don’t you mean goddess-engine Lady’s a girl
I love how you made it look like it was actually being filmed on a camera
I saw the engine at Strasburg once! It raced through the station and as fast as it was there, it vanished at some buffers.
