I saw the Killers in concert recently, the first time was back in 2013. This time I was in the pit, and man, what a brilliant presence and charisma Brandon has. So much energy and such a powerful aura. Definitely one of the greatest frontmen of all time.

Admittedly, I’m not super into music so I’m sure there’s many I’ve never seen, but there’s something about this video that perfectly matches each specific part of the music, and watching and listening at the same time is much more of an intensely pleasurable, immersive experience than just listening alone. I had triple bypass open heart surgery two months ago and though I loved this song before hand I struggle to listen to it now as I guess "the young" to me now feels more poignant since I got "old man's disease" with my heart disease when I'm only 40. There's actually so many lyrics I relate to now, it all takes me back to the hospital (and apparently post traumatic stress is a big thing with cardiac surgery which explains why I broke into a sweat and was in the toilets madly moping my chest and back down with toilet paper when I had to go back to the hospital to see my cardiac surgeon two weeks ago). Maybe I'm just creating my own meaning in my head, but the mirror ball did make it feel even more poignant since I'd said on facebook my biggest goal post surgery was to dance again.
My hubby's name is Cade. He is 42 and has a chronic illness. He can't listen to this song...he used to be a ball of endless energy and a body builder. He got very sick about 6 years ago and the docs still don't fully know how to help them (and I think some docs frankly don't care). Anyhow, I wish you all the best on your journey back to health.

I had never heard of Brandon Flowers but I totally enjoyed his cover of the song and I decided to Google him. Oh my!!! What a fantastic voice!! I am going to listen to all of his music and I have already started a Brandon Flowers playlist on TH-cam!! Most times the Internet can be so negative. Epic! Visually astonishing! I read somewhere that Brandon Flowers is a master of the chorus, and its true. Every single chorus of his album Flamingo is perfectly crafted and elevates the song taking it to and upper level.

I had triple bypass open heart surgery two months ago and though I loved this song before hand I struggle to listen to it now as I guess "the young" to me now feels more poignant since I got "old man's disease" with my heart disease when I'm only 40. There's actually so many lyrics I relate to now, it all takes me back to the hospital (and apparently post traumatic stress is a big thing with cardiac surgery which explains why I broke into a sweat and was in the toilets madly moping my chest and back down with toilet paper when I had to go back to the hospital to see my cardiac surgeon two weeks ago). Maybe I'm just creating my own meaning in my head, but the mirror ball did make it feel even more poignant since I'd said on facebook my biggest goal post surgery was to dance again.
My hubby's name is Cade. He is 42 and has a chronic illness. He can't listen to this song...he used to be a ball of endless energy and a body builder. He got very sick about 6 years ago and the docs still don't fully know how to help them (and I think some docs frankly don't care). Anyhow, I wish you all the best on your journey back to health.

I was scrolling through stories and articles on my phone news feed and there was an article about Brandon doing his version of "I got my mind set on you" by the late George Harrison at George fest. I had never heard of Brandon Flowers but I totally enjoyed his cover of the song and I decided to Google him. Oh my!!! What a fantastic voice!! I am going to listen to all of his music and I have already started a Brandon Flowers playlist on TH-cam!! Most times the Internet can be so negative. But it is so wonderful when it is a source of enjoyment and brings something positive into our life. I absolutely love when I discover new (to me) music that speaks to me!! ❤
