Unbelievable, this is from 2017. They were already THAT good, 6 years ago (1 year after founding)!
Oh damn! That totally slipped my mind! I forgot what they founded.
Being primarily metal, Lovebites are more my preference than the other band. Love these ladies. Seeing Deviloof behind, I enjoy them too. 🐺
The Song that started many of the Wolfpack following these insanely talented ladies in 2017. We have been with them ever since and they have NEVER disappointed (except for Miho leaving the band). Midori and Miyako started as polar opposites and while they are they have remained so, both helped each other become even more outrageous when dueling, trading off and harmonizing especially LIVE. You can see the improvement in Miyako clearly in the new Blu-ray and Midori has learned a lot from Miyako in the process. Haruna/drums was a beast from the start and that just continues, Fami has brought her own shoes and hasn't even tried to fill Miho's and she doesn't need to she is that talented. Asami has worked her a$$ off winning over the fans and she has grown into the perfect stage general and leader of this group. Petite and sweet these women turn into beasts on stage and little Asami with a mic in her hand and a crowd becomes a stage Napoleon that controls the band, the venue and especially the crowd.

You're spot on when you mentioned that consistently phenomenal LIVE performances are the true reflection of how talented and real a band is. You guys should now check out a LIVE version of "Shadowmaker" and witness how flawless and awesome these ladies are : th-cam.com/video/wmAKRiG89Qc/w-d-xo.html . By the way, Haruna's (drummer's) star cymbals are just for show. They're one of her trademarks which are also part of the merch she sells online. She normally spins them at the beginning of a song.

Lovebites are also unique in that, probably for the first time in the history of world rock and metal music, they released five full-fledged concert blu-ray in four years (Battle in the East 2018, Daughters of Dawn 2019, Five of a Kind 2020, Awake Again 2020, Heavy Metal Never Dies 2021). All five concert blu-ray, starting with Battle in the East 2018, are made at the highest world level. On a big screen in 4K, they look just great, every detail is clearly visible, a lot of close-ups of musicians, eye expressions, emotions and all that. The quality of both video and sound is amazing. I have known Lovebites since 2018 and I have all these releases and I review them regularly. This is the best investment in a music product.
I probably like the first two releases a little more (Battle in the East and Daughters of Dawn). More expression and the atmosphere of a real rock, metal concert. Five of a Kind and Heavy Metal Never Dies are more academic. Well, the most favorite is Awake Again, the reference quality of video and sound. Now it is rare and expensive.
There are six live versions of Shadowmaker in blu-ray quality and one in dvd quality. That is, there are only seven versions of the live performance of this song. Everyone is very good.

This is a MV that proves that Love Bites had such musicality and performance skills at the stage when they were just formed. Moreover, surprisingly, Asami was a ballet dancer who sang R&B and soul singers, while Miyako was a classical pianist, had little guitar history, and was self-taught.

Well, I can say it, Lovebites is my favorite band!
Honestly can't even blame you for saying it, Lovebites is amazing and very talented. We both love them very much and are excited to keep hearing more
Band Maid are really, really good. But I personally have the feeling that having just one great composer in the band (Kanami) is a limitation in their musical offering.
Lovebites have a pattern too, but so much more variety. And above all I personally prefer pure metal 😅🐺🤘🏻

I like Band-Maid and I have all five of the concert blu-ray, including the latest Tokyo Garden Theater Kyuji 2023. I review them from time to time. But I don't think Kanami is a guitarist of the same level as the guitarists of Lovebites. Midori and Miyako know all the techniques of playing the guitar and easily use them in one guitar solo. Not to mention speed and maybe stamina. That's why they play in one of the most demanding genres of metal music for technical skills.
Honestly I can see where you're coming from and I can even agree with you on it. She's very talented but the Lovebites girls are just that much even more talented
Was just going to say exactly what @rainerzufail42 said, I think this was the 2nd MV, after Don't bite the dust, which I'd recommend highly, and any live version, the more you listen the more you'll fully understand what it is about these ladies and just how special they are. 🤘🎹🎸🎤🥁🐺

This song keeps evolving in their live videos in terms of stage performance and the song itself seems to get better with each concert. There are at least 3 live versions, one in Germany(?), Five of a Kind 2020, Metal Never Dies 2021. I can't wait to see the Knockin at Heaven's Gate version. This song is awesome.

LOVEBITES will blow Band Maid out of the water.
Band maid tours, so what! Lovebites toured a long time before band maid did! That includes some of the big rock festivals in Europe and UK ( Bloodstock, Download UK and Wacken) also a full UK tour with Dragon Force. Then there were the Asian tours!
Plus, they were the first Japanese all-female band to play Wacken. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't remember a Japanese all-female band playing Wacken after them either. And they got all these invites to play these festivals in only their 2nd year as a band, that says something right there.
