INFORMATION ON THE SUZUKI ESCUDO !!! This Escudo appears to be the 1996 version (the one found in Gran Turismo 2). The Escudo that appears in Gran Turismo's 3, 4, 5 and 6 is the 1998 version. What's the difference ? The front and sides are pretty much the same, but it's the rear that's the main difference in looks. The 1996 (GT2) Escudo has 2 rear air holes on the back (the Escudo in this video also appears to have the same ones from the game). Other videos on Escudo (when it's red) doesn't have these 2 square dark holes, as the entire rear is opened up, as with the Escudo in Gran Turismo's 3, 4, 5 and 6. Gran Turismo 2 states the car is a Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak Version '96, where's the others Suzuki Escudo Dirt Trial/Pikes Peak '98. The 1996 Escudo is a 2.0 Litre, the 1998 a 2.5 Litre. According to Gran Turismo, both the Escudo's have 981 - 985 HP (this video states the 1996 one has 788 HP though, hmm). Both Escudo's are the same performance wise ! Surely there was a mistake some where here, as 800 PS turns out to be 788 HP, which is the Suzuki Cultus Pikes Peak Versions power. The other mistake is the Japanese man claiming this Escudo is a Twin Engine, but the 1995 Escudo was a Twin Engine. Both 96 and 98 Escudo's are almost 1,000 HP, both are 800 KG in weight, both have 270 km/h restricted top speeds and both Accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. In Gran Turismo 6, i tested the Escudo. In Gran Turismo 6, Escudo jumps from Gear 1 to Gear 2 in 1.6 seconds, the Escudo in this video in 1.8 seconds. The game Escudo then gets to Gear 3 in 1.1 seconds, the Escudo in this video, also in 1.1 seconds. The game Escudo then changes to Gear 4 in 1.1 seconds, the one in the video, in 1.2 seconds. The game Escudo then gets to Gear 5 in 1.7 seconds, the Escudo in this video, in 1.2 seconds. From Gear 6 is the big change though. The game Escudo gets to it's final Gear 6 in 2.9 seconds, where's the one in the video, in 1.7 seconds. Overall, it takes the game Escudo 8.4 seconds to final gear from start, and 7 seconds for the real version as seen in the video. The game Escudo takes 2.3 seconds to reach 100 km/h, so maybe perhaps the same or 2.5 seconds for the one in the video ? From @6:01 when it Accelerates, it seems quick. So what speeds was Escudo getting to between @2:18-2:28 in this video ? Let's use the game as an example again ! In Gran Turismo 6, Escudo changes to Gear 2 at 75 km/h, Gear 3 at 110 km/h, Gear 4 at 155 km/h, Gear 5 at 203 km/h and Gear 6 at 256 km/h. Using these, it appears when the Escudo in the video turns to onboard view from 2:18 onwards, it's already doing close to 110 km/h and likely gets to its max speed of 270 km/h before the deceleration begins. From @6:01 in this video, Escudo most likely gets up to 110 km/h before it backs down. Escudo's top speed in Gran Turismo 6 is about 308 km/h (38 over it's actual real speed), so lowering its gear settings can probably make it as the real life version.
Probably Polyphony did the same they did with the Alfa Romeo 155 Touring Car: They made a model of a particular spec racing car but adapted the livery. Despite the GT2 Escudo being modeled after the 1996 V6 2000 Escudo, the livery is the same as the 1998 V6 2500 Escudo.
u do know the suzuki swift or metro is considered one of thebest vehicles of all time right? for its year of release it served its purpose better then anything else on the road
It was too small to have any purpose. So I'm sure it did nothing well. I've owned one. Crappy little car. Converted it to electric when the engine failed.
nah bro, i had a suzuki samurai and it was a fucking beast. my aunt had a grand vitara, it was not as bad ass but it was reliable little suv with 4 wheel drive
Tajima-san is very much a forward-thinker. Alongside his Monster Sport operation he owns a multitude of other businesses centering around research and development; nowadays doing a lot of work in electric car technology. He was among the first in Japan to really work on and experiment with aerodynamics. What he was doing then - 20 years ago - reminds me of what the whole time attack scene is in the midst of right now.
it's kept at a Museum somewhere in Japan, the same car but in red colour, there is a picture of it on google somewhere. I think it will last for a very long time, as it is Tajima's most famous car, and greatest from my opinion.
It's wierd that even knowing about this video since more than a decade now, there's not any recent comments, even with the recent release of the OG Escudo on GT7. This video is the best representation of the original car, and only a few seem to know about it.
It is so crazy, that the driver of this 4-wheel fever dream looked so bored, in the van. 😅 I would look like anyone, after 20 cups of coffee and 4 lines of coke. 😂
3:40 Monster Tajima explains to you how to operate the car after you gained enough credits to buy it... If gran turismo was in real life lmao. I will forever envy mister red shirt guy.
@orkan84 Because WRC has too many regulations. This car is a LOT more powerful than WRC allows, it is larger, has a bigger engine and so forth. Regulations, regulations. A world series for such cars has not been seen since Group B shut down. I hope this was helpful :)
you know, i always thought of making a video of these two drag racing, as Bugatti Veyron will have no chance to compete with it on a Racecourse. In drag race, very close, both can accelerate from 0 - 60mph in 2.5 seconds. Escudo is still better.
+BRAINROTTDAVE more like a couple million if were are talking about purchaseing that car off Tajima That he will never Sell Well over 150k if its a Replica
KSkash Dude you know what's 220 mph ?????? That car does not reach 220 mph ... Btw it's Japan so it's KPH ... That car can barely reach 300 kmh, it wasnlt created to have a crazy to speed but to be very agressive in corners that's why there is a giant wing at the back .
a lotus 48 could probably beat it around a track! yes, the 2004 cars were technically the fastest, although the most monstrous would have to be the 1.5 turbo's that chucked out 1500bhp in quali spec :L
lol you're probably referring to the video game Escudo from the Gran Turismo games, which were pretty fake, especially Gran Turismo 2. It is possible, now that Formula 1 cars are pretty pathetic (unlike 2004 F1's), Escudo can do 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds, and so can F1's of today (as seen on Alonso's Ferrari F1). But to be fair, Escudo will have to race a 1996 Formula 1, because Escudo is from 96, then we will see Escudo win :). On a Racecourse Escudo has no chance against 96 or todays F1's.
best car in Grand turismo
Teach it truh i Love the car 👍🏻

@@juanignacioaschura9437 i am sure, GT2 version also states that it is a 1998 car, albeit modeled after this one. Classic PD :)
@@juanignacioaschura9437 Cultus in GT2 is 1995
The only thing Suzuki did not only right, but also astonishingly well. If I ever get to touch it, my life will be fulfilled.
They make a lot of great vehicles and engines. Your just familiar with the "consumer grade" equipment.
u do know the suzuki swift or metro is considered one of thebest vehicles of all time right? for its year of release it served its purpose better then anything else on the road

Indeed the Samouraï is a beast

In Gran Turismo it don`t steer that easily. lol

it's kept at a Museum somewhere in Japan, the same car but in red colour, there is a picture of it on google somewhere. I think it will last for a very long time, as it is Tajima's most famous car, and greatest from my opinion.
Nasty! Very Nasty! Loved the sound of that V6 Twin Turbo!
Its starting to come back with more and more hillclimbs and stuff but it will never be the same as the original group B
That would be a badass gymkhana car
The speed demon of gran turismo 3
It's wierd that even knowing about this video since more than a decade now, there's not any recent comments, even with the recent release of the OG Escudo on GT7. This video is the best representation of the original car, and only a few seem to know about it.

Hard to believe, that this car is only a Little Micro SUV in his „normal“ Form
verygood
Just imagine if group-b was not banned, or group-s was in rallying today. We will see amazing machines like this in finland or corsica!
It is so crazy, that the driver of this 4-wheel fever dream looked so bored, in the van. 😅 I would look like anyone, after 20 cups of coffee and 4 lines of coke. 😂

all-terain fastest car

this thing could probably out-drag a formula one car, you really think a luxury car designed to be quiet would offer any competition under 200mph?
