    Brand & Ross should be suspended without pay PERMANENTLY for this public and outrageous humiliation. The degradation of sex / love went far enough with Paris Hilton but it didn't involve insulting others. This is OUTRAGEOUS. They are way overpaid schoolboys who are totally abusing their positions and showing just how truly talentLESS they are

    Reminds me of Chris Moyles's Capital FM days where he'd troll random people on prank calls. I think it was Capital FM from memory. It was during the mid 90's and it was a late night show. It didn't last long and he ended up on Radio 1. My guess is that Capital FM found him too controversial so gave him the boot. I miss that show and his prank calling/trolling in-between songs. It was funny af lol. He wasn't the same when he went to Radio 1 which is what led me to believe he'd been sacked from Capital FM due to the prank calling/trolling.

    best bit of radio broadcasting in history

  • @sniff001
    @sniff001 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    I agree. This whole thing has been blown totally out of proportion and people have only complained to join the band wagon of people having a go. Apparently Gordon Brown also brought this up in Question Time - shows how little he has to talk about when he's taking a silly little hiccup on radio onto Question Time. He himself clearly hasn't any idea on how to manage this country by talking about minor little happenings which quite frankly shouldn't have even reached newspapers! What a stupid case!

    i dont see why people seem to think this is either funny or offensive. its both. it was pretty horrible to harass an old man about one of his grandchildren and to subject his family to such a media shitstorm. it was a horrible unpleasant, selfish, and nasty thing to do. it was also very very funny. the way they did it was very very funny. so can we please stop being either sanctimonious arseholes or blinkered fawning apologists and get real?

  • @Harry_Von_Turbo

    If you take the time to look at the bigger picture you will realise just how serious this is. This represents two highly paid broadcasters telling people that its ok to fone and abuse and taunt anyone they choose for their own entertainment in the name of comedy. Its not ok. Even if this hadnt been broadcast these calls were still made and Brand and Ross deserve to be sacked for their disgraceful behaviour.

  • @Blackburn35
    @Blackburn35 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    They would be making a bigger deal out of it for several reasons, there would be no "Oh he's a celeb as well so should be able to take a ribbing" argument, and people would just focus on the fact that man in his thirties was boasting to a 78 year old that he he had bedded his 23 year old granddaughter. If anything that fact that Andrew Sachs is famous actually made the situation seem less serious that it actually is. And not forgetting that Ross and Brand were actually breaking the law.

    It is important to be able to be confident like Russell is. He jokes about him self all the time and he is criticized, harassed and judged much more than most. He not only has fun with it but does not take it personal. He uses it as FUEL for his own power. We can all learn from such an example including Mr Sachs.
    This may have not been "nice" but life is often like that. If we need everyone to be a certain way to be happy then we will constantly be unhappy~*~
    This is OBVIOUSLY a joke

    I agree, the fact that during the show only a few complained about it yet when the story was in the tabloids, not the most reliable of sources either as they used the worst quotes on there, over 10,000 people have suddenly complained shows that in my opinion. Probably over half of these people haven't listened to the whole thing or any of it but like to complain about it because everyone else is. This wouldn't have been a big deal if it weren't in the papers...

  • @eimead
    @eimead 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    it was the fact that the whole thing was pre-recorded is the reason the BBC took this as far as they did... the radio regulator (OFCOM) have to push disciplinary action to the fullest extent for pre-recorded pieces, because it should've been pre-approved by editors and possibly a legal team... if this had happened live, a simple apology would've cleared it up... which is a pity cause they're both amazing and now there's shite all on on friday nights... ironically, i think the BBC lost out here.

    On board a flight to Hawaii, the pilot announced, "That thump you heard was our last engine conking out. I'm really sorry to tell you this, but we are going to crash into the ocean."
