Pretty sure I've heard worse things getting defended by screeches of "woke" and "cancel culture".

People that were outraged by this were obviously never fans of his radio show, he said "worse" things than this nearly every week. Fucking brilliant show.

Saville got it seriously wrong, as did Rolf Harris. Should the BBC NOT CONCENTRATE ON THAT.

    Ross Brand scandal eh?
Indeed, a stupid, childish prank which left a lot of folk disappointed in the two of them.
    But what about Team Saville..........hmmm?
Even when the BBC allegedly did knew about Saville back in the 80s according to John Lydon.

or just teach people to not get offended so easily, and allow us permission to see or say whatever we want, instead of a sheltered, watered down shit show of what comedy could be

It was a right wing attack on the BBC, using brand and Ross as pawns.

@@solshields Well yes, but the complaints were made a good week after the show aired (because the Daily Mail shit stirred)

@@solshields It can. It received 1500 complaints when it aired. When the tabloids picked it up it rose to 10,000. I guarantee most of the people who complained never even listened to it just sad anti BBC bores.

I certainly don't condone this, but less we forget, programmes like Love Thy Neighbour and comedians like the late Bernard Manning and Jim Davidson were every bit as much a part of the 70s as Fawlty Towers.

It was a terrible thing they did to Andrew Sachs . RIP Andrew . The fact that those two assholes are still in the public eye ( especially wossy) is a testament to public tolerance of so called 'entertainment'.
