It will always haunt me that when I first got into collecting for the SEGA CD, a local store in my area actually had a CIB copy of this. By the time I researched the game and decided I actually wanted it, I went to go pick it up and it was gone. That was in the days of flat prices for any game on the shelf, I think their SEGA CD games were $10 to $20 at most.
I feel your pain. I collected retro games heavily for over a decade and had similar stuff like this happen to me at least a dozen times. I'd be sore about it still as well if I could have had Keio for $10 once upon a time.
Great video! Interesting that you brought up Magical Chase, as that is the most expensive TG16 release by far. Way to recommend the Japanese version. Fraction of the cost and better voice acting for those who want a physical version. That being said, this pretty much is the grail game for Sega CD collectors. More videos please. You make great content!

What a great and honest review! The sega cd is my favorite system to collect for and I still have all the games and system from when I got it back in 1993. I've tracked down most of the games I really wanted in the system but one that has eluded me is this one. I've come close but in most cases, I couldn't come to an agreement with a few sellers on it as it is a very expensive purchase. All conversations were met with professionalism and courtesy of course but at the end of the day, it's a tough one to get. I did finally get my hands on snatcher and the big one would be this. There's plenty of great games on the console but this is the holy grail and I'm invested in the system 100% Consider the house of fun and video games subbed and I look forward to watching the other content you have to offer. 🤟🔥
I have only ever played the sequel on the Saturn. This looks like a good time. Shame to see these games are both super rare. The 2nd game is one of the best games on the Saturn, too.

It would be amazing if Sega puts this on their Genesis Mini 2 that they are releasing shortly.
It makes me wonder who currently has the rights to Victor Entertainments IPs. That would be cool though!

I can just bet that the hitbox issue has something to do with the difficulty. Try it on easy and then hard and it will change..
