Smacking a body takes time, breaks your weapon and gives you like 5 or 10. Just buy a journeyman book for 300 gold and get 1500 in way less time and effort. Or with just a cloudberry for 13 gold and get 2250
The merchant in that little fisher village at the lake east of Padstow sells cloudberries, they give +50%xp bonus.
I make sure I always have one cloudberry active.
Built right next to them for that reason plus great place to farm xp. Bandit patrols come from everywhere.

Thanks. No correlation I just have a Monotone and sometimes even despite my effort it can be very very monotone.
