Repotting my Ginseng Ficus, August 2021

Here is an update on my Ginseng ficus microcarpa. I'm trimming the branches and repotting it into a handmade bonsai pot.

Ginseng ficus are made of 2 varieties of ficus microcarpa, the rootstock is from a fast growing variety with thick roots and larger leaves, the grafted top part is a variety with smaller and rounder leaves ….
That’s why it’s important to remove branches which start growing from under the graft point, because otherwise they may weaken the grafted top part of the tree …. 👍

Yes, small lava rocks mixed with clay granulates, coco-peat and other small organic matter.

I'm using a mix of lava rock, baked clay, organic matter such as bark and coco peat.
