    I just got mine tonight a very sweet friend dropped it off... such kindness, she is trying to get me out of bed and darkness and into the light. She gave it to me as she said she saw them in Thailand,
    my son committed suicide in August
    (a big part of my heart and soul died with him... going through severe depression and I rarely get out of bed)
    my son loved Thailand and spent a lot of time there.
    It has one leaf with a little tear in it I’m assuming there are teeny bugs...or mites...
    not sure what to call them. I have neam oil and those sticky pads... not sure what to use... peroxide perhaps?
    I love your video as there is no music and you speak very well. Very easy to understand! Brava! I’m subscribing!
    The only question I’m not clear on is... it is potted... do I repot? What is the best soil?
    I heard other videos say to water it every day, every few days... and spray leaves with mist daily.
    Please help...
    Thanking you in advance!

      You can repot your sweet little ginseng, if you would like to see it grow larger. He advises only two sizes up max. So if your current pot is 4” you can go up 6” and so on. For the soil, he explained that using a really good potting soil mixed with perlite is great. I am sending you so much love and light your way. I understand your pain and loss. I lost my fiancé just shy of a year ago. With the aid of my plant buddies, I am beginning to feel life in me again. I pray this helps you my dear. 💚🪴

    I would suggest being aware what they will look like cut and uncut.
    It will look very twiggy with long skinny branches if you don't cut it ever.
    If you want to to look the same but bigger then focus on a single branch and force it to thicken up.
    P.S. It's a common mistake that this is a species called Ginseng, it is actually a Retusa. Ginseng is a type of root that is very large.

    Excellent video! Straight to the point, loads of information 🙃
    I liked and subscribed 🥳
    I have to repot mine now, January in Ireland 😵
    It’s going bald, and I’ve tried everything... I’d say I’ve been overwatering it each time, and I’ve repotted it twice already... this time I’ll restrain myself 😆
    I’m new to plants, and I bought far too many over the lockdown ... and also buried loads of old tomatoes (amongst other things, including an apple and a cherry tree) , so trying to keep those alive too lol.. full time job!

    I saw this at our local plant stand today I want even sure what it was but it was calling my name. I'm so excited I've been looking for a little indoor tree. 😁

    I just bought one this morning and dunked him in some water with some food. I left it in for like 2 mins but I hope he’s ok

    I love the video man, I just got into bonsai. I bought two, bonny and clyde lol. What tree would you suggest to get next? For indoor.
    Edit: Also, where would you recommend buying bonsai online?

    I found this video very informative, thank you. I have a question, can I put moss around the trunk of the bonsai? I have seen many pictures on the internet and they show moss around the trunk.

    • @sirplantzalot3631
      @sirplantzalot3631  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can. Keep in mind that the moss holds moisture. So just make sure to top dress it with moss, and not go deeper.

    Hi! I have a question! You said it can stay small if you keep it in a small pot. Could I freshen up the soil and trim the roots when the roots start getting long and pot it in the same pot to keep it small?

    I have a full spectrum UV light blue and red lights. How much light in the winter and watering? Thank u so much

    • @sirplantzalot3631
      @sirplantzalot3631  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So on average in winter, mine gets around 6 hours of brite indirect light. And seems to be doing fantastic.

    • @sirplantzalot3631
      @sirplantzalot3631  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As for watering, I watch the rhizome itself. If it seems to be a tad on the wrinkled side. I give it a good soak. But I mist it daily. So it doesn't seem to get to that point often.

    Mine is losing a lot of leaves, should I water once it’s soil is dry? Or should it stay moist ?

    • @sirplantzalot3631
      @sirplantzalot3631  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Let the soil dry. Then give it a good watering

    • @countrygirl4422
      @countrygirl4422 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sirplantzalot3631 I'm having the same problem. I allow it to dry out then give it a good water. I don't use tap water on any of my plant's either. I'm guessing it's not getting enough light.

    • @sirplantzalot3631
      @sirplantzalot3631  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@countrygirl4422 it could also be a seasonal change. Our photo periods are changing. Just try to get it in an area that gets good enough lighting. Or, maybe try to adapt it to a well lit room.

      Give it a good spritz instead of deep watering

    • @sirplantzalot3631

      It could be lack of moisture. Try giving it a spray Every so often

    How many years it can live on avg if it's taken care properly??

    • @sirplantzalot3631
      @sirplantzalot3631  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry for the late response. Work has been super busy in the greenhouse! I'm not certain the life expectancy. I have had mine for going on two years now, and it shows no sign of slowing down. I'd assume it can live for 10+years
