I have a 2013 Ford F-150 but only one key but the my key isn’t even an option in my settings. But I do have my key limiting the volume and other features. What do I do?

Just rented fusion hybrid with alamo, it only came with 1 whole fob and xtra key, no wonder 2 fobs wasn't included. Was going to remove the limiters. Called alamo they acknowledged 2 fobs was not given. I dont drive 80mph but weekend holiday san Francisco to vegas , yes we do
Zonita F many rental companies do activate the limitations to protect their vehicles. Unfortunately if you are heading onto the freeway this could present some issues. You would have to discuss your situation with Alamo.

Hi, good day, please I need your help on how to deactivate the seat belt sound for my ford edge 2011
The instructions are in the owners manual.
1. Turn the ignition on. DO NOT START THE ENGINE.
2. Wait until the safety belt warning light turns off (approximately 1-2 minutes).
• Step 3 must be completed within 50 seconds after the safety belt warning light turns off.
3. For the seating position being disabled, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt three times at a moderate speed, ending in the unbuckled state.
• After Step 3, the safety belt warning light will be turned on for three seconds.
4. Within approximately seven seconds of the light turning off, buckle then unbuckle the safety belt.
• This will disable the Belt-Minder feature for that seating position if it is currently enabled. As confirmation, the safety belt warning light will flash 12 times in three seconds.
• This will enable the Belt-Minder feature for that seating position if it is currently disabled. As confirmation, the safety belt warning light will flash 12 times in three seconds.
I just have the one key right now (apparently Admin key) and I have limitations with stereo sound etc. I go to settings to MyKey, but the create Mykey can not be accessed. That's as far as I get. What am I doing wrong or is there something I'm missing. Thanks in advance!!
You need to have two keys to access the MyKey settings. You can get a 2nd key from a Ford Service Centre. Then with both keys in the vehicle you can access all functions

miss monchel your local Ford service department can reprogram that for you to make one of your keys an admin key.

Go back to the dealer you purchased the vehicle from and request a second key or head into a Ford service shop to get a second key. Unfortunately it's the only way to deactivate mykey (with two keys and one as admin)
I just got a mustang with both keys and was confused on why I had 2 keys. Then realizing I had remote start but it wasn’t working. So that’s what brought me to this video to see how I can activate it. Now Im scared on if I should activate it now lol. I’m just new too the “Fords”
Melissa Page well if you don’t need it then I would just leave it. Otherwise just be sure to only program one as the Mykey and keep the admin key. Ultimately it’s designed for those lending out their rides or who want to control the way someone drives their car (kids, friends, etc). If that doesn’t apply to you, you don’t need it!

Unfortunately you need two key fobs to deactivate this system and one must be programmed as the admin key.
Kind of wish this had even more restrictive features for a “valet mode”. I dont want someone that’s supposed to be working on my GT350 joyriding and still able to hammer it up to 60. Should have an rpm limited or something for that type application. Nonetheless it’s a nice feature to have

I need help with turning off mykey on my e2018 escape that I just got. I dont have the admin key.
Lesley Constantino you can’t turn it off without the admin key. We suggest reaching out to whoever sold it to and request the second admin key. Otherwise you’ll need to visit a service center and get a new key programmed

I have one key and accidentally activated it, if I were to unprogram that one key and reprogram it, would that trick the car into thinking this is the key without mykey activated
Nathan Thompson Honestly in theory that sounds like it may work. But the car itself would most likely need to be flashed too. But that could have consequences with warranty

There is not a locator app for a Ford key fob unfortunately (although that would be great).
When I bought my 2018 Ford F150 the dealership only gave me one key for my truck. And the My Key settings are with the other owner of the truck. So how I can change My Key settings to my settings?
You need to get a 2nd key programmed as the admin key. We would suggest going back to the dealership that you bought the truck from
What if i activated it to see what is was and it connected to someone elses. My dash diesnt have a clearing feature and i dont know whose it could have connected to.
You’ll need both keys in the vehicle with you (one has to be programmed as your admin key). It won’t connect to another set of keys as they wouldn’t be programmed to work for your vehicle.

Have you tried accessing MyKey with both keys in the vehicle? You’ll find out if one is programmed as admin if you can access and change the settings in Mykey. Otherwise if you are worried about getting stuck with limits ON, you can phone the dealership/your sales person and ask. Last option is to wait on doing anything with MyKey until your next service and they can program it if you want then.
Hi so I’ve tried everything to remove or deactivate or clear all the my key features with both keys in the car and nothing has work. It doesn’t give me any other set up options anymore for me to even remove it. It just says “2 mykeys. 56.6 mykey mi. 1 admin key”
You are sure that one of the keys is programmed as the admin key?
It would greatly benefit your viewers to know the year and model vehicle
in your demo....not all Ford MyKey functions are universal, depending
on the year/model.

@@lacombeford FYI...I have a 2011 Ford Edge Limited that had two MYKeys. I called six Ford dealerships in my area and got a range of pricing from $99.97 to $475.00 to reset both keys. I tried several locksmiths and even Batteries Plus in my area can reset keys...none of the Non-Manufacturers worked. The high priced dealerships said that they MUST create another Admin key which drove the cost up so high. My research found that not to be true, so I paid $135 at a Ford dealership to get both keys reset without having an Admin key. Sad part is ONLY ONE guy on the service staff knew how to do it, took him about 2hrs.
GEMMAE wow!! That is so unfortunate that so many couldn’t help. Our team has had many folks into the service centre to reset their keys and as long as we have two its fine. Same thing as you said about the $135. Sounds like you found a great dealer!

You’ll need to get a second set of keys and have one of the two sets programmed as the admin key. The only way to remove mykey is to have both sets in the vehicle with you.

Caleb Lyda you can go to a local dealer and get order a second set. Depending on the vehicle you drive the cost will vary and could be upwards of $200, so if at all possible talk with whomever you purchased the car from to see if there is anyway of retrieving the second key. Otherwise, pop over to the service department of a local dealership. We hope that helps :)

The king you’ll need two keys (one programmed as the admin key) to reset the settings. A dealership can help you get the second key programmed, for sure.

This will give you back access. Or if you just recently purchased, go back to dealer you bought from and request the second key.

Unfortunately without both keys you cannot unlock the Mykey settings. Its a security feature.

What if I want to turn off auto on/off engine when stopping for a while ,
There is a button to deactivate the auto on/off. Depending on what you drive the location is either a physical button on your center console or it is within settings on your dash (using steering wheel controls).
My car won’t show me the “create my key” option. 2018 flex sel. Any ideas?

Darwin Martinez you can’t reprogram your copy keys. You will need to go into your local Ford dealership and purchase a new key. Its done that way for security reasons.

As long as you have two keys (one programmed as the admin) in the vehicle you can remove the speed limit by accessing the settings in your dash as demonstrated in the video

Adrian Diaz hi! Thanks for watching and your message. You will need two keys to de-activate MyKey in the vehicle. You will need to use your control pad on your steering wheel to access the setting on your dash’s control center. Tanner walks you through this in the video :)

If you have the volume limitations turned off, your stereo will behave normally. MyKey can be on but only set to limit other features like max speed. You can toggle whichever settings within Mykey individually or turn them all off. As long as you have both sets of keys in the vehicle when making setting changes.
What if I only have a single key? I accidentally turned it on in my 2019 ranger.
So unfortunately you will need a 2nd key to disable the MyKey settings. You get another set from your local ford store, just be sure one set is programmed as the admin key. Then you’ll need both sets of keys in the vehicle with you to deactivate MyKey.
Is there a way to reprogram my second key to be recognised by immobilizer? Key was working fine but i tried to take radio out by bit of force and the key stopped working. I have other key that only locks car manualy. And the button on starting key doesnt work.

@@lauris4887 I tired looking up immobilizer in our ford literature and don’t see anything. However if the buttons aren’t working, that either the fob needs to be replaced or needs to be reprogrammed, which needs to be done at a dealership.
If you can expand on this a little more I may be able to troubleshoot further

My hazard lights won't turn off on my 2011 Ford explorer. Any ideas
Gary Lilly Thanks for contacting us today. In the owner manual of your Ford Explorer, there should be a fuse and electrical relay diagram, that indicates which fuse or relay powers the hazard lights. The only way to disconnect them would be to pull that fuse or relay. The other option would be to disconnect the battery terminals, which should stop the hazards from flashing, then reattach the battery. But to be certain, you may need to bring the vehicle to your nearest Ford service centre to be diagnosed by our computer
What if you don’t have that slot in the center arm rest ?
Depends on the vehicle where you place the keys. If you have keyless entry it can be anywhere in the vehicle. Otherwise it depends on the model… others have the slot along the side of the center console (down by the driver’s right leg)

Hopefully this has been resolved for you by this point. However if it hasn't you'll have to have one key programmed as the admin key and then both sets need to be in the vehicle when you are reprogramming mykey settings.

I have a 2010 Escape that doesn’t have a screen like that but all of these tutorials just keep telling me to use the screen that I don’t have! Anyone else have this issue or know how to do it on older models without dashboard screens?

How much it should cost to reprogram both keys, from the dealer?
Celina Chavez every dealer has their own pricing, but we will ask our service team first thing in the morning and get back to asap. What do you drive?
As we mentioned before, some dealerships may charge differently than we do. When a customer comes in and needs keys programmed to clear MyKey, they require 2 keys to perform the function and they would be charged the same as a PATS key program. $98 including GST. That would eliminate all MyKey programs. This would cost more if a 2nd key was required to purchase (as there must be two keys, with a master key). You need two set of key, one administrator and the other would be the myKey.. Basically If you have been given one set of key which isn’t the administrator key, you are screwed

Can I use a Edge key in my Fusion? Both 2013
If both keys are the same format (identical buttons, shape, everything). You would need to take the key into a service department to reprogram it for the Fusion. Keep in mind that it will no longer work on the Edge and the hidden key inside the fob will be useless on the Fusion as it's cut specifically for the Edge's door. Thanks a lot! I found one that I like a lot more than the one I have and a few months I ask if I can use the key of the mustang in my fusion and they told me that yes but I didn’t know about the key of the edge, the one that have the bottoms vertical.

Unfortunately you need two keys and one must be programmed an admin key. It’s a security feature. If you take it in to your local Ford Service Centre they can help you either program your key or get you another key.

John Mooradian both keys will need to be in the vehicle, one in the ignition and one in the second compartment (like the center console seen in this video). Then you can navigate your dash control center to deactivate the keys settings as you need. It didn't work
John Mooradian if it didn’t work we are wondering if one of the keys is actually set as an ADMIN key. You can have two activated keys (they will work in the vehicle for driving, etc) but neither are the admin key. If you pop back over to the dealer who got you the second key, get them to program one as Admin... they should also be able to troubleshoot with you on the spot to get this all sorted out. Sorry about all the frustration... we understand this system from Ford has its faults for sure!

You should be able to access you Ford MyKey so long as one of the keys is programmed by your locksmith as the admin key. They will need programming not just cutting keys.
I have a 2016 Taurus and only have 1 key I set up my key just messing with the settings how do I get it off of my car. I can’t turn my radio up
Unfortunately, you need to have two keys, with one being programmed as the admin key. You’ll need to go get a 2nd set and have them programmed. Then with both keys in the vehicle you can remove the settings.

@@bagg6052 we have had issues programming keys from 3rd parties in the past. It really depends on the key. You could try it but there are no guarantees. Some work while others don’t.
So we bought a government auction truck, a 2012 F250. It has just a black topped key, no buttons for doors etc. Anyhow the one key and only one I got has been speed set and is not an admin key cause the dash says it number 2 or something. So am I understanding that I will need to buy 2 blank transponder keys, one to be programmed at the dealer as an admin key and the other programmed as the second key?
You should only need to purchase one other key and have it programmed as an admin key.
@@lacombeford So if I want to avoid taking it to the dealer can I buy just one key and make it just another my key but without restrictions and not have an admin key at all? On Fords mykey features site it seems to say that I just put a key in that I want to program as a mykey.
@@Fordluv from our experience you need to have it properly programmed as an admin key.
You can try it for sure, and perhaps a second key wouldn’t have restrictions but every example similar to your case we have had leads to having program a key.

MeMe Marie are you sure one of the keys is programmed as an admin key? Only the admin key can deactivate MyKey. It should also be the key in the ignition. If uncertain, pop by your nearest Ford service centre

Lamu Taafua you need two keys but one has to be programmed as the admin. You’ll need to take it into a Ford service center to have it programmed as an admin. Or you try having both keys in the vehicle, use the key you wish to be the admin to start the ignition. Then in settings select “clear all mykeys”.

@@hamdanalreyami6105 unfortunately there is no other solution. You have to have two keys and one programmed as the admin. If you visit your nearest Ford Service Center they can order one in for you. Otherwise we would suggest contacting whoever you purchased the vehicle from to request the second key.

Unfortunately you do need two keys to deactivate the MyKey features. We would recommend you return to the dealer you purchased the car from to discuss getting your second key programmed.

@@kodygibson5802 oh shoot! Jeeze, we’re sorry to hear that. You can go to any Ford dealer for a key but that would likely mean out of pocket expense for you unless maybe they would reimburse you that cost. Wish we could help more.
I am unable to see the my key option on my 2015 Ford Explorer. Why? I took my truck to get service for a recall and was returned with not running past 80mph. I really need help and get this fox. May you help me what are my options to do?
Do you have both keys in the vehicle? You need them both before being able to access the MyKey section

No the dealer only gave me one key.. I don't know if it's the master key
Margil Rodriguez that is probably the problem. If you take it back to them and explain the car has MyKey programming and you need it cleared their service department will be able to do it (we are assuming its a Ford dealer). In our experience you need two keys.
No I bought the car in a car dealer and they gave me one key but hopefully they have the other one.. and if they don't is there any other way to deactivate it. Or to reset the whole system??
Margil Rodriguez you can order the second key and then get the system deactivated. Hopefully the dealer has the second set for you or can help out with the cost of a new one and system reset.
What years have this feature? You never mention it..... my 2014 Ford Escape in perfect condition will not recognize my keys....
Tom Gallagher your Escape should have the feature, however if one of your keys is not programmed as the master key it won’t work. You can take your set into a Ford dealer to have one programmed as a master.

Hi, I have my ford explorer 2013. I just tried for the first time using “mykey” feature a while ago. I adjusted the speed limit and others. It was still there in the settings. But after a couple of hours while I was trying to re-adjust again, I haven’t found the “mykey” feature in the settings anymore. It was completely gone. I only used the same key. While I was looking at the information, it says, (1 mykey, 25 mykey km, 1 admin key). Your help will be much appreciated.

@@bmbkg4266 the most common mistake is not having two keys in the vehicle when trying to adjust mykey settings. If they did then they likely have a programming issue that can be looked at in a Ford service center

Vinicius Felinto If you don’t have a second key at all, then you would have to purchase a new one and then we would have to program both keys. Without a VIN# we can’t say for sure what the cost would be. Keys range from $50-$350 plus programming ($99 + GST). It’s pretty hard to give a rough cost. If you get us your VIN# we can be more specific.
