While Red Bull might not have indeed the fastest car anymore - as it does look like McLaren finally remembered who they are supposed to be in F1 - we have to remember one thing: Maxie is Maxie. Even in a slightly slower car, he will still be able to pull off some magic that mere mortals like us won't be able to comprehend. But while McLaren might have the fastest car, they need to stop watching Ferrari's strategy tutorials on YT. I'm willing to argue that if they would have double stacked, Oscar would have gotten his maiden win that day, as he clearly had the pace at the end to potentially run away if his race wouldn't have been thrown into the woodchipper by the team's bad call. As for BOP in WEC, truth is, the cost cap already is a kind of BOP in itself. Whether balast and power adjustments are completely necessary - I don't know, I'm not an expert. But the fact that we are able to avoid a LMP1 situations, with teams spending 300+ mil every year on a championship that has 8 races, where the cost of running a single lap is 28 000 dollars - that is already a small victory in my eyes for WEC. Also, I disagree with Caddy being shit, as in the last few races they did have a solid pace - they just need to stop killing themself (and preferably the competition: aka Team WRT at Spa this year) in every race. The true title of a shit car can go only to Alpine - they wanted a pipe bomb of an engine, they got it.
McLaren and maybe Mercedes could challenge Red Bull only in constructurs championship (thanks Checo). In drivers championship Max will keep it under control Jenson Button 2009 style in my opinion. About Kalle... I said it couple days ago, but I'll repeat it again. This guy is a talent. Maybe even generational one. I'm too stupid to understand BoP, So no coment on that. I wouldn't say Cadillac is shit. Mid sure, but not shit.
