Love raccoons we had a pet raccoon when I was little. He rode our bikes with us and our pony's he went everywhere with us. We only lived 1 block from the park and he used to go to my sister's softball games till he decided she needed his help playing 1st base. He would climb the tree next to the house so he could get on the roof and and sit by our bedroom window and chatter till we let him inside. He also had his own little pan of water to wash his food off. His name was Bandit of course and I loved him to the Moon! ❤🌙

And they can unfortunately contract distemper but everybody thinks since they're wild they will have rabies When and if the poor little things happen to come in contact with distemper. look ill,not healthy like this little critter. He's just hungry. Jim knows his raccoons and is not afraid.
Omg my Son & I LOVE raccoons! Their little paws feel like velvet! We use to help at a wildlife rehab place just to get to spend time with raccoons! I wish we lived wherever it is you live!!!

I've had 2 young (not young anymore) raccoons living in my back yard since hurricane irma tore through. i fed them a little canned cat food and they've been coming back nightly ever since. there wasn't a mother around so i guess she lost them and they just sort of found me. they've been no trouble, and they're fun to watch. in the back corner of my yard there's a tree that hangs close over the top of the privacy fence. i put up a box for them there and showed them how to get in it. not sure if they sleep there everyday, but i have seen them playing in the grass/weeds back there (it's a quiet corner we don't really use). a few days ago one of them looked his head out while i was throwing a stick for my dog (labrador). and yes they get along with the dog just fine. she was just a pup when she met them.
we feed them alot as well....the younger ones are not that jumpy. But it seems once they realize there are threats and competition out there, they get more jumpy over time
There's a mother raccoon in San Francisco that brings her babies to meet me when she thinks they're old enough. She knows my voice and knows I won't hurt her, and that I usually have a little cat kibble or some granola bars in my car for them. Last year's babies LOVED grapes, and would take them right out of my hand.

HOT DOGS contain a lot of chemicals. A couple of hard boiled eggs, and raw hamberger I what I used to feed my two baby raccoons when I lived in my mother's house. They also slept with me on bad winter nights. They would scratch at the front door, and would be covered with snow or sometimes sleet. Mother would let them in, and they would waddle towards the propane gas furnace and Mother would get a couple towels, and we would dry them off. When they were dry, they would waddle off into the kitchen, and make little chittering noises...that meant "feed us." Mother would get all the left over's from supper and scraps of anything from the ice box. Mother would put out a big bowel of water and they would wash of their food before eating it. Mother said they didn't have saliva glands to lubricate their mouth for easy swallowing. True or not? I don't know what the farmers believed in those days. She was born in 1898, and people's knowledge seemed to be different in the late 1940's. After their "feast" they would go play and climb the wall's and furniture in the living room. We never knew what happened to their mother, but we took care of them until they were big boy's...and then they were off to start new lives as regular wild raccoons in the woods. I can't ever remember Mother owning a camera after my brother enlisted in the Navy, because she gave it to him to use during World War II, otherwise I'm sure she would have taken pictures. Mother named them, "Bandit and Crook" because they took small items and hid them around the farm house in nooks and crannies. They were handsome little guy's, and so sweet...although they did at times wrestle each other when one would take from the other.

These kind of videos are very educational and teach people that wild animals aren’t the vicious and attack Kind of animals people make them out to be. Animals often attack out of fear or cruelty towards them just as we humans would it treated that way.

I used to only put out cat food for my raccoons, but now thanks to you they get peanut butter and bananas, mango,boiled eggs and many other things.

You can give them rabies pellets and dewormer stuff. And eggs are really good for them.
