    I've come here from watching Matt's Offroad Recover, Paul at Fab Rats, and Trail Mater.
    Biggest difference is the mud and all the greenery.

    if you had a small engine drive you could temp re weld the bumper on and make it much easier to tow...

    • @offroadrecoveryteam
      @offroadrecoveryteam  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Failed welds were what let go, and allowed the bumper to come off. I'm out there to get stuff off the trail and back to camp. If I can do that without making repairs on the trail, then that is what we do.

    • @johndowe7003
      @johndowe7003 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      would you ever consider using scotch blocks on your wrecker? that would make a sweet "how to" vid

    • @boomstickkid
      @boomstickkid 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      i wouldnt call four 1 inch welds a "repair" merely a SAFE and hassle-free way to get the truck off the trail. temporarly weld the bumper back on provides a much better way to lift the truck without juggling with wood blocks and having it fall off your lift. i wouldnt want you to hurt or injure yourself in the process of trying to rig it like that.

      That's what I was wondering ....wouldnt a 3-5 horse be enough?....it would make things a little safer ...cause I hate like hell to one of them come off and go flying right by the wrecker down a hill into site seers...that would suck!!! I know ur in a hurry to get stuff done but there is always that .....if we would of taken out 15 minutes to do this...they would still be here. Its just those moments that worry people....WE WANT ALL OF U GUYS SAFE CAUSE WE LOVE THIS STUFF....Eric I know ur damn good !!!!!! Even nascar drivers have ACCIDENTS!!!!! Just saying so please be safe and think....we all would miss u and everyone involved!!!!!

      4 wheeling etiquette has always been help any one you find (when wheeling) that needs help, so other 4 wheelers will do the same for you when you need help. But if they call you to come out and help them... well that my be different.

      most likely a $100 beater they slapped a poor man lift in and took er wheelin. there's a bazillion of them pos old fords out there that arent worth anything. it was probably a decent rig before the front clip got yanked out of it (thank the idiots at ford for the retardrdly weak frame and bumpers). im dure they hauled it home, yanked the good parts (axles lift & tires) and scrapped the rest and started on another fresh pos

    • @chris6200
      @chris6200 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Garrett 20 there aren't really any benefits to having a diesel in the wrecker and all the extra weight is will cause it to get stuck more often. Its also hard to get a decent diesel in this generation chevy as well. pretty much the only option is the 6.2l which is very low horsepower and very heavy.

    • @SouthernGuy8503
      @SouthernGuy8503 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      A newer wrecker, maybe. But, the diesels in those square bodies I don't think were that great. To stay with GM you'd basically have to get a Duramax which means computer and sensors. My opinion is that for an off-road truck the least wiring and no computer is the way to go. If you look at square bodies that were even 3/4 and 1 ton most of them just have a small block in them.
