another thoughtful recovery - I enjoy these vids since I have helped stuck folks who are often pretty upset and not thinking straight (and sometimes under the influence too). I think the strap was a great idea. If that wheel came off during the haul it could have been an unpleasant event. Your calm manner dealing with people must help a lot since "everyone's an expert" anymore. heehee
I like seat covers as much as the next guy but she needs some gloves on if she is going to work a recovery. you can get banged up real bad real fast. If nothing else, she could wear gloves.

that's what we use to play back in the days with the little scale Tonka TRUCKS in the dirt 😁✌me & friends cousin's😁 ,also with the 1:18 scales u know back in the 80s and to 90s they made nice metal scale cars and trucks I remember the k5s with the boat trailer and even the 18 wheelers those were nice
I had all kinds of trucks, and i have to say this, for the older ford engines are good if you take real good care of them, but some of the parts, well you see what happen,,,, BUT THE ENGINE STILL RUNS !!!!!
I LOVE YOUR TOW TRUCK MAN GOOD JOB , I HAVE A 1976 C30 TOW TRUCK DUALLY 2WD 4 SPEED MANUAL , BUT I WILL MAKE IT 4X4 , JUST NEED A DUALLY DANA 60 AND 205 CASE , GOOD JOB SIR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The sling is usually rubber designed for chrome metal bumpers but since he does mostly heavy modified 4x4 trucks, his is all chain. The crossbar has grab hooks on the ends. You back the sling under the damaged vehicle so it cradles the weight, throw a chain or J-hook onto the damaged vehicle, pull the chain tight, hook it into that grab hook, loop the chain around the hook for safety, the slack gets hung up on the upper crossbar, and then you need 2 additional safety chains. Pop on tow lights and you're set to go. It's more technical, but that's the basics. There's a few videos on how to hookup and tow with a sling. Can't can't jacknife it in reverse like you can a modern wheel lift setup and there are other safety concerns. ALL set ups have their pros and cons. I love a sling and boom for versatility. When I did repo, an autoloader wheel lift made me a fast precision surgeon in a tow truck. A regular wrecker/tow truck is a Swiss army knife on wheels. Everyone wants their vehicle on a flatbed, when many times a flatbed can't get to the job, can't load the vehicle, can't unload the vehicle. Etc. I prefer a regular tow truck a million times over a flatbed. If you're doing road service with lots of highway long distance driving then the flatbed may be better, but the wrecker can and will do the same job. If I was doing roadside I'd get a flatbed for those reasons but in my heart I wish I was in a wrecker.
I always kinda wondered if you had in cab controls, looks like you do. :) I'm not sure, but for some reason I thought you had an extendable boom. but doesn't really look like one in this vid? may cuz it's all the way in. Also, probably a good thing that guy had disc brakes in the rear. He was using every bit of them to slide through those moguls.
All the wreckers out there, working for free should set a standard price of 20 bucks. Everybody is willing to pay that and helps you pay for gass and beer...
