When I was about 8 (sometime around the millennium), my parents came home from the UK with 4 jerseys; I was given claret and blue kit. Sure enough, it was an Aston Villa jersey. Over 20 years later, as I started watching the PL two years ago to follow Christian Pulisic at Chelsea, and even though Chelsea just won the Champions League, I gravitated to AV! Like the saying goes, you don’t choose Aston Villa, it chooses you. I didn’t choose an AV jersey, I was given one. Thanks to that, I follow Villa, and the saying holds here!

A truly great club with a great history. Crystal Palace FC borrowed a kit from Villa and played in it in the first game in 1905 so there has been a connection for a long time. Palace wore claret and blue until 1975. Both clubs have great fans.
