The three murdering witches! So good Cribb and Thakeray came to the rescue of the sweet, innocent old man. Thank you for these fabulous films set in the 1900's. Xxx❤❤❤
I came across this a couple of days ago and was able to watch it today. I really liked it and look forward to watching more. I'm from Portugal, and my mum and I love watching old British murder mysteries together. Saturday was cleaning day, when I was a kid, and in the afternoon my mother had a break and we would watch a British murder mystery like Poirot, Marple, Sherlock Holmes... Cribb is totally new to us. Thank you for posting the series 🙂
This is a great story. Gotta say - my fave are: Police officer becoming a bare knuckle fighter. The ladies of the night and the Charing cross doctor. The Irish terror . The doctor and the son story.... And this one with the young siren and the older Man Wonderful series
I have the full series on DVD, but love to watch it on your channel because it is great to see this series uploaded for all to see. Well done! and Thank you. The old ones are ‘the’ best. True to what a story is about, it is a Story, nothing to do with real life.
For some of us in the far west this wonderful series is unknown or at least until now. Thank you. For me it a peek into a time not always a part of Jermy Britts' Holmes ' England. And proof that the English do have a sense of humor most profound
Thanks for uploading the series . I know it takes a while but all your efforts are very much appreciated . Not only have you reintroduced people to the CRIBB series but also made me for one delve into the back catalogue of Peter Lovesey ,a prolific writer. All of his books are both original in concept and hugely enjoyable reads and often keep you guessing right to the end as to 'who did it and why'.Great to have a channel full of quality uploads to delve into and be thoroughly entertained .Well done .
My pleasure. I am just sorry that sometimes the dubbing is not quite accurate...there is not a lot I can do. I cut this one in 3 or 4 places to bring it back into line. Just praying that the rest of the set are not so bad!!
I wouldn't worry they always seem to catch up with themselves ,lip sync not essential in most scenes as wide shots of characters talking.I'm just thankful you're willing to take the time to get them on to your channel in the first place .Looking forward to the elephant one as like this not a book so can enjoy it as a one off detective drama.(ps sorry for saying 'I wouldn't worry' reminds me of the times I spent trying to sort things out and get them perfect for me mum when she was older ...could spend days trying to make life easier for her with gadgets etc ...don't get me started on the TV REMOTE .......and she would always come up with those words........'I wouldn't worry' ARGHHHH ...straight to another room for a silent scream ;o) bless em !!!!!x
Funny...Yup, know how you feel. Same happens in our family!!! I think "The Last Trumpet " is up next. You must be psychic or something...!!! Now don´t hold me to it if it´s not next cos I need to check later on this afternoon!!! x
They never did say how many men the 3 tried this out with and, succeeded? I loved this series. Thank you for upload! If only more episodes were available??
Thank you so much for posting these episodes, and particularly this one. I have loved it (and the entire series) since first watching them on "Mystery" when Vincent Price was the host many years ago. Wonderful memories - and Alan Dobie at his best!
My pleasure Matt...it is a very good series...nothing to fault really...just glad everyone still enjoys them..not enough "clever" stuff out there these days !!!
Thank you for unearthing and loading this unique series!!! As to this episode, it features Charlotte Mitchell, whom I first stumbled across giving a creditable performance in the 1995 Persuasion, but she was, unfortunately, miscast - too old for the part at that time. Then loved her performances in other films & TV, such as Laughter in Paradise and television bits. She grows on you, and now I'm always very glad to see her. Also fun to see William Simons, who has trouble escaping police officer typecasting! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this.
It´s a fun series to watch that´s for sure. Well put together. Charlotte Mitchell was Peter Seller´s girlfriend for a while...she was in some of the Goon Show episodes..."Ye Bandit of Sherwood Forest" and "Tales of Montemartre"...not that there was much call for a female role in those great radio shows...ah, what fun...I haven´t been through all my tapes yet...maybe I´ll dig up some little treasures from the Goons yet! You are right about William Simons, definitely got stuck in a bit of a groove as a policeman...18 flipping years worth in "Heartbeat", but he did some other roles too... I have enjoyed putting this series together...will get another one ready to start downloading tonight...do take a look around the rest of my site whilst you are waiting...there are some great and largely forgotten bits and pieces on it. X
The women were supposedly poor but the house they lived in looked very nice from the outside. It certainly was not a small cottage with low ceilings etc
Well I´m glad you got to see it...this is one of the intentions of my channel...my father (Chubby Oates) was in this series also...he was in "Abracadaver"...I wanted to upload the whole series and tag as many people as I could so that people could find loved ones etc....Of course, it was also an excellent series and hats off to all those behind the scenes...writers, directors, producers for making it all so wonderful to watch all these years on!
yes but i thought he died just after filming the series, watched catweasle this night and thought uncle ezra looks like catweasle.Had to look it up but it is catweasle,he died not so long ago in 2017.
R there any other series that Ur thinking of uploading n the very near future. Please do I've seen these & I like the series. If U've got other episodes much the better. Thank U 4 CRIBB

I watched this series when it was first broadcast but forgotten just how brilliant the scripts are. Thanks for posting.

Wonderful series
A series at a time when people could still appreciate understated subtle drama....before the land of excess colonised everywhere.
Thankyou for letting me see this
Reminded me of Arsenic and Old Lace. Very entertaining. Merci❤
Alan Dobie is the definitive Andrei. He also has one of the most beautiful speaking voices of any actor:also very handsome
He is Cribb❤
He does!

The bowl thrown out the window still has enough soup remains to test for poison.
Cat doesn't approve, this forebodes badly.
The women were supposedly poor but the house they lived in looked very nice from the outside. It certainly was not a small cottage with low ceilings etc
They dress nicely too. Greed set in and they needed more. Not even satisfied with more.
This guy is 64? I suppose they had harder lives in them days.
Bit surreal watching this considering my Grandad actually directed this episode.
Is that our Catweazle? X
yes but i thought he died just after filming the series, watched catweasle this night and thought uncle ezra looks like catweasle.Had to look it up but it is catweasle,he died not so long ago in 2017.
Oh my! The poor old groom looks far older than 64 yrs old.
Not for that period !
In fact, he looks like many of my ancestors around that time of the 19th Century
I should add they were in the comparison photos the same age as the character in question!
Take that !!!
R there any other series that Ur thinking of uploading n the very near future. Please do I've seen these & I like the series. If U've got other episodes much the better.
Thank U 4 CRIBB
Lily Catweazle,again as a vicar x

bad sound can not hear it
The encapsulation of Sentimentality. cards, effusions insincerity and totally bereft of integrity.
Great series
