I do BFR all the time and I swear by it! Saved my joints because you don't need much weight seeing how it gets painful very quickly! My only issue is finding a set of straps where the plastic buckles don't give out and break so easily. Highly recommended though!
@@rgfitness6425 I personally never bothered to measure. I go by visual asthetic. Vascularity increases big time, and definition is increased by the end of the work out. I notice much more veins in my hands and feet though. Hard to walk, or hold anything in my hand. Go hard enough, you'll be impressed. Only catch, you can't cinch them too tight.
Hey Ryan, thanks for bringing these up! I’ve had a pair of these bands for a while but have used them in a minute. Never thought to hurt myself and put them on my calves. More stuff like this would be awesome!!
I am starting to lovers vids . As much for the attitude, as for the training info . I am gonna recommend this TH-cam to friends . It’s starting to cheer me up , despite the grumpy old man demeanour, which is brilliant . Thanks sir
Please make more of these videos. More workouts with the bands and more info like How long should these be worn...can I wear them through the entire workout or should I take breaks between sets or exercises? Thanks for always keeping us informed and doing it with some funny ass commentary. Hope to see these soon.
For gastroc training with BFR, you should always keep the cuff as proximal as possible. So in this case, you should not be keeping the band around the gastroc, but as high up on the quad as possible.
Good video. Ryan, I've been doing BFR these last few years as a "top-off" to my routines. I bought a set of those Blow-up bands, and I couldn't use them on my legs. You have to blow them up so much to get the right feel and it impedes your walking. I stick with the elastic bands. Thanks.
i just bought these after i tore my bicep because you can train lighter and harder and maybe reduce injury. missing work for months sucks so i like training harder and smarter and i think these help with that while reducing risk of injury.
Bands are a great change up but nothing beats just utilising the old training principles and putting your own take on angles tempo rest time etc Used the bands before prepping for a show towards the end when energy levels were low it was quiet effective Love ya channel buddy I don’t do social media anymore but great to see someone doing what they do with passion and dry humour accompanied with intelligence
Can you combine the power of Isometrics with bfr bands? So, for example, put the bands on your arms, then hold a certain pose, say, a press up at maximum tension, and hold it there for 1 min? And mearly repeat this a few times...
@@davidbrazeau6668 A total newbie as far as social media goes 😅. But I spoke from my real life experience which is what matters for me. Good luck to you if you really liked the joke.
More BFR band workout! plz; also just arms and legs right? Love the concept (& not about to try it on my neck, lol) but there's gotta be some other ways to use them right?
I'm going to be doing your 30 day workout but I need to acquire a bench and bar for bench presses. I have dumbbells and an adjustable bench for dumbbell exercises.
As usual, great video.👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿. The Ultimate Warrior reference, Sweet. Yes, I think you should do a video with those bands. If nothing else just because us old guys need to try new ways if training.
I haven’t clicked on you in a while man and that’s my fucking bad! Your contact is always spot on there and you’re getting better if that’s possible! Keep grinding big dog and stay safe
You dont. Main way to workout with these is for 20 mins max. 30 seconds between reps. When youre finished let them sit for a minute while doing nothing and then take them off
@@junkyard-p1s you can do a normal workout with them to an extent. Or a protocol we use is like 3 sets of 20 of an exercise, with 30 seconds to a minute rest in between. Probably 5 or so exercises. Lots of volume
Hi, Another great to the point vid. When I bought mine, the instruction said to not wrap below the knee for calves, keep it upper thigh and you still occlude the veinous flow without impinging arterial supply. Have you tried both ways?
As a therapist I use these but primarily the cuff’s are used in our clinic on the patient’s. They are a good use for helping with increased strength when doing leg exercises. So it would be cool for you Ryan to do BFR exercises for your legs, Thanks brother!!😎💪🏻
