    Getting ready to do this job. Thank you so much boss. I specially love the serpentine belt diagram you posted. You are the man.

    Great job in making sure you're giving people the right engine size information. So many videos say "how to change an alternator on a Ford F-150" for example when they fail to mention there are probably two or three different engines for that vehicle and they NEVER tell you which engine it is so you don't know whether watching the video is even worthwhile, lol. So thanks for not doing that. Excellent video.

    Funny how you can make a video to help people. Yet, there's those that will still complain cause it didn't show you physically doing it. If you can't understand this step by step then it's probably best you just dont attempt this job.

    So it was the alternator failing which caused all those fault codes?

    I was able to get the alternator apst the oil dipstick tube without removing it. Also, there is a wire tie from the driver side fan to the radiator hose, hard to see it as it is down low.

    Hey Maic, I just watched your Santa Fe timing chains video, your production quality is greatly improving and the information is appreciated, keep up the good work. I have this same 2007 Santa Fe Limited 3.3L where the alternator is soaked with oil and is failing. The alternator in this video is soaked in oil and you briefly mention the valve cover gasket has been replaced already. What did you do here to prevent the oil contamination of the alternator happening again?

    • @MaicSalazarDiagnostics
      @MaicSalazarDiagnostics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi,
      Thanks for watching it. The valve cover is the main problem, so if you correct that and make sure that every oil change there is no spillage you'll be fine.

    Very helpful information. Do you normally do any voltage drop testing to rule out cables etc? Thanks!

    • @MaicSalazarDiagnostics
      @MaicSalazarDiagnostics  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      always do a voltage drop test and a load test on the alternator, but this video was more of the removal procedure.

    Only way to get those fans out is by damn near breaking the driver side first and it's going to scrap the radiator. Can only find cardboard so you can pull it out super strong because it has to get past the air filter compartment.

    Wait so is it possible to change it out without pulling the passenger wheel off?!

    I know I'm really late asking this but here goes - How does one remove the electrical plug from the alternator? After I cleaned mine up (got off the oil and buildup) I still cannot see the release tab. I looked on the new alternator and think I see the only place where a lock tab would catch but still I cannot get the connector out. Any way you can post a photo of the release tab?
    Thanks for the vid but if I could afford it I would have had someone else do this.

    My 2007 2.7 is no where near this model. There is a large hose that is fastened to the drivers side fan and there is not enough space to lift the fans out due to other obstructions.

      @@JKoz-sf2ei someone else online loosened just two engine mounting bolts in the corner and jacked the engine up about 2.5 inches to get the alternator out. Definately can get to the belt from the wheel well. You only need to remove the top bolt and loosen the bottom alternator belt to get it loose because it has a U cut on the bottom

    No No No No No NO NO. When your video is entitled alternator removal the video needs to show the process from start to finish of actually removing the alternator. Not a verbal recap of what you did with no video examples. Useless video.
